Last went here for a men's suit. Decided to check it out since they carry some women's clothes. It very much reminds me of a vintage or resale shop as far as the majority of women's clothing styles that they carry here. I couldn't find one shirt, dress, top, purse, shoe or pants that caught my eye. How absolutely disappointing it was to make the trip here. Can we Give a sixth star???? I was traveling with my Fiancée in Windsor from Memphis, TN. We stopped in on a whim to pass the time. I started looking at the Canada Goose Coats. I ended up talking to one of the owners (Ari Freed) who spent about 30 minutes showing us through the store and discussing the history of the property. 90 years of generational excellence was apparent. Knowing we were traveling, he took my pants upstairs for alterations and 10 minutes later I was leaving with an amazing deal on my wedding suit that included shoes, a belt, a tie, socks, and a shirt. I found Freeds website from The Canada Goose website listed as a retailer. I was shocked that all the $900 CG jackets were only $693 here, but I was skeptical because it was too good to be true. I went ahead to check out and used PayPal, but PayPal legit kept denying processing the transaction and wouldn't load because "information did not match." I looked at the bottom to see "Grand Total Including Tax: $693" and then in a smaller UNBOLDED font "your card will be charged for $900" LOL what kind of sorcery is this??? How deceiving and shady. Great service. Needed a cheap suit quick and they measured me up and helped me pick out my outfit. Honestly the best thing about this place is the 200 and 300 dollar package deals. Each package includes the suit jacket, pants, shirt, tie, belt, shoes and socks! And, you can mix and match so if you don't want another belt, you could just ask for two ties and no belt or whatever other combination works for you! All that to say, they value their customers, and they have good prices if you're on a budget. Will return! read more

Spent 800 dollars on a 3 piece suit shirt and tie. was told I would have to spend another 3 dollars to have my brand new shirt pressed as it was wrinkled from the packaging. So the salesman took it up to be pressed I needed the suit that night for a funeral. I got home hurried to shower and get going only to see the shirt had hardly been pressed at all. Very noticeable folds left in place. Very disappointing I will not be returning. read more

I cannot praise this place and their staff (especially Maureen) enough. If I could rate higher than five stars I would. I had been searching all around the Metro Detroit area as well as online for a pair of Adjustable Hunter Boots my wife really wanted for Christmas this year. I even had family and friends in California, Chicago and Florida looking for me and it was a no go. Everywhere was absolutely sold out. They were so sold out in fact that backorders were set to be fulfilled in late February. I took a shot and called Freeds as they were a distributor based on Hunters website and lo and behold they had just got some in stock earlier that day. Initially I was going to have them ship them to me, but I didn't want to take the chance that they wouldn't get here in time so I paid for them over the phone and being the awesome hubby I am I set forth on an adventure to the great white north to pick them up. Upon entering I spoke with Maureen and she seemed just as happy and excited as I was that I finally found a pair. Seriously, the stereotypes about Canadians being polite and friendly is spot on. Superb customer service by her and her colleague that was working in that department with her. While I was there I opted to throw them some more of my business by getting the socks that go with them even though I could find those most anywhere back in my home area. They went above and beyond for me so it was the least I could do. Needless to say they will continue to get my business when it comes to buying higher end items either for myself or the misses. read more

My wife and I came in on a Sunday so I could pick up a suit. I'm 6'5 so it pretty hard for me to find clothing in my size. We were take care of very well and could not be more happy with the sales staff. I highly recommend this store and will buy there again. read more

Just about the worst customer service... by far the worst i have ever experienced. Rude, arrogant, unprofessional.... not to mention that when you step in the store it's like you went back in time from the fashion to the decor and the employees that seem to think they are doing you a favour selling you the 1991 products that cost 3 times more than any other place out there. Store owners must have a meeting with staff about their attitudes with customers, nothing destroys a business more than that.. read more

Online Purchase - be cautious, as this place might be a scam for online purchases, just to get your credit card number. Just like another review here says, I also found a Canada Goose jacket on their website at a much cheaper price than most websites and was skeptical, only to receive an e-mail the next day to tell me that my purchase was cancelled, because they don't carry this jacket!!! My advice - spend a few extra bucks and buy from a different supplier/store. This place is a disappointment. read more

Great prices and exceptional customer support. I am a repeat customer over the last 3 years. I recently ordered two shirts on-line and received within a week. As I was taking one of the shirts out of the package, I noticed one of them had a stain on the sleeve. I took a pic of it and email it to their customer support. Within 2 days the owner of the company personally called me to discuss it. Mr. Freed was very polite and professional. I can see why FREEDS has been around for 90+ years. The service in this store is poor!! No wonder the place is always dead as a doornail. When I walked into the store today one of the owners and his staff were standing around near to the entrance doors in the Ladies section. and no one greeted me. When they finished their conversation a Sales associate came over and said "what are you looking for?". No "hi, how are you doing?". I told her that I was browsing. The store was empty and the merchandise was very overpriced. There were some cute spring items but the atmosphere in the store was a real turnoff. The Sales Associate then proceeded to follow me around the store as though I planned on stealing something. I could feel her eyes boring into my back and she was very unfriendly. If this store has an issue with theft maybe they should improve the tagging of their merchandise and not follow around shoppers, thereby turning them off. I was looking for a suit in the hi end suit area and a salesman approached me to direct me to the less expensive suit rack assuming i cant afford what i was looking at. Prices are expensive, but if you want better quality you pay for it. Service is great, and they are attentive to your needs. Went in today to get a suit and they were great from the sales guy (i think Rob) who helped me find the right suit to Bella who helped us put it together. Don't trust online ordering. I placed an order, it was confirmed, and I was charged for the purchase. A day later, I was informed by customer service that they 'unfortunately sold the last available item before my order was placed'. They offered that I should feel free to return to their website and place another order for another item...thanks, but no thanks! I guess when you see a lady in the suit department of Freeds she does not need sales help because you know she will not be buying a expensive suit. Well for all the women shopping in Freeds alone , don"t expect help in the suit department. !!!!!! Was in the store to buy 3 suit shirts and stood at the shirt tables waiting for THE 2 SALES HELP FOLDING. None of them would look at me or talk. I approached the sales girl walking from the fitting room to help me. She did for ALL OF 2 MINUTES. She told me she has to look after the man in the fitting room. O K , so waiting again, I say to the lady folding I need help. She helps me for ALL OF 2 MINUTES and tells me she has a man in the fitting room and runs away. A third one walks past me standing there, so I say, "Your the 3 person to help me, If you walk away I will leave your store" I have shopped there with my husband and sons and never experienced this behavior before. All this tells me is FREEDS THOUGH I WAS NOT GOING TO SPEND $$$ IN THEIR STORE BECAUSE I WAS NOT WITH A MAN TO TRY ON A SUIT. Used to LOVE shopping here, however I have recently noticed how poor the quality of service is. Specifically the school uniform department is very unorganized and unhelpful. Employees stand around chatting, rather than greeting or providing service to frequent customers. Employees act lazy and are unknowledgeable about products. This store is a fantastic place to shop for men's suits and clothing. I know they carry ladies wear also but I don't know much about it. It is our family go to store for dress clothes, shirts, ties, underwear for my adult sons and my husband. Excellent service ALWAYS, right down to quick alterations etc. The sales are the best if you can wait for a bargain (I am cheap) and the points program is a good perk also. read more

I went to the store for the first time and was blown away by the selection and great staff. Their selection of clothing was outstanding and the prices were affordable.
