Ray and another gentlemen whose name I didn't get came by to inspect the tank, and also gave me a partial fill to get me by until I could get filled. They also helped me with an issue with my fireplace, which was totally unexpected and very much appreciated. Then someone came by and refilled my tank the very same day (instead of the following day like I'd initially been told). I couldn't be happier with Pioneer Propane. Have to pay by debit or credit, not happy about giving out my credit card info to someone supposedly in Ohio. While trying to input the credit card information, I was disconnected and had to call back and start all over again. Used to love the service, they would come fill up the tank when we called, leave an envelope on the door and I would mail in the payment. Totally unsatisfied with the service, the process and the waste of time you cost me today to just place a simple order. You have lost a customer and I will not give good reviews to locals who ask.

We have had Mountain Propane as our propane provider for over three years. Mountain Propane offered us the option of leasing or buying our reserve tank. Initially we leased the tank but bought it during our second year. At the time, I didn't think to as for a discount as the tank was in place and had been used since 2004 rather than being new. I'm not sure if the discount (for the used tank) would have been available. Mountain Propane offers excellent service...we call them when the tank is less than a third full and they bring in their delivery truck on their next service date for the area. We get the bill in the mail shortly thereafter. This "no waiting around" for service is quite helpful as our Port Townsend days are very full with activities and it would put a definite chill on them were we to have to wait for the service truck! Staff at the office is very friendly and serve-oriented. I've called many times from California without the account number. The staff has been able to "find" our account and set up a delivery date promptly...all done in a cheery manner. The company also offers an emergency service which (fortunately) we have never had to use. There are several other propane companies in the area. Each (I'm sure) has its attributes. But we're sticking with Mountain Propane as they have treated us well.

Now we've moved out, and they continue billing us for metered service at that address, despite our giving them three weeks advance notice of the move. Call and you'll talk to a friendly, seemingly helpful person, but nothing gets resolved. Glad to be done with them!

When I called CHS Propane, I did not have much hope of getting a propane delivery any time soon…read more Because of the power outage on Bainbridge, we had to use propane to power my husband's oxygen concentrator. Our two propane tanks were not full, but we thought there was plenty for one or two days without electric service. As the hours progressed, we began to worry about the tanks running dry. My husband has IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis), which is a progressive disease affecting the lungs. He needs oxygen 24/7 and is not very mobile. If the condenser stopped producing, we were down to using cylinders and we did not have many left. One cylinder or e-tank lasts about 2 hours. We would have to leave our home, take the concentrator with us and find some place to stay. I called our previous oxygen supplier but was told it would be some time next week before we could get a refill. If we were younger this would not have been as stressful, but for an 81-year-old, it was very difficult to figure out what we would do. We also have two small dogs, so along with the concentrator, the dogs and all my husband's meds, plus his stringent diet, (because of the meds), it was a big problem, it seemed like we had a mountain to climb. I reached Austin, at CHS, and told him my problem. He put me on hold and made a call, then told me he could get me a delivery the next morning. I was so relieved. I drove out to Cenex in Poulsbo and the people there were also super nice as I filled out a form for the delivery. Austin would have sent it to me via email but our internet service was also down. They said we were on the schedule, and not to worry. Last night our electric service was restored, a very happy moment, but the tanks were very low, so this morning, first thing, the CHS Propane truck showed up and filled the tanks. The young man driving The truck was so efficient and filled our tanks, but refused to take a check, I figured they would send us a bill. This afternoon, Austin called and told me that they would not take any payment for this delivery due to the stress and worry we had endured. I tried to tell him that we were happy to pay and were so relieved to get the delivery and not have to move to a motel (which I had already booked), that we wanted to pay them for their service. He would not relent, so we will pay it forward.
