Had to replace a skylight. Efficient & effortless. They replaced the skylight over 10 years ago and I'm still impressed

Install was good but you cannot call for any follow up. I need maintenance and think they must be closed.

Freelite did an outstanding job at our home; we needed more light in the study; they came out to assess the situation and together they decided on the size and the location. This also necessitated some roof work (this was a flat roof). Their subcontractors were each efficient, pleasant, and diligent. We last used Freelite over 10 years ago and had a similar issue with one of our 3 Velux skylights not closing. Amazingly, the same key technician, Spencer, came out and remembered our house and quickly repaired the control box. Also, he improvised a repair of the weather stripping on one of the other skylights. Spencer and Matthew did all this in less than an hour and were a pleasure to deal with, as was Diana in her manner and responsiveness. read more

These guys did great work for me 6 years ago. I was sad to hear they are out of business, as I was just looking to add a new skylight.

One of the skylight at my house was leaking. I called in 3 places in to get a quote. Freelite was the busiest and I had to wait a month to get a quote. It was all worth the wait because they are the best. They didn't not try to get me to replace my roof like the two other business( contractor) did. I ended up replacing 3 skylights because I prefer the look and the job was done under 45mins from start to finish. This review is long over due. I was dealing with a very sick family member and never got around to doing this. I LOVE my skylights. They repaced 2 large old doom ones in my living room and a small one in the hallway. The two large ones have the shade and open, it was expensive but worth it. Couldn't be happier with the results and also Patrick and Spencer were gentlemen. They treated my house as if it were theirs. I had an issue with the remote and Diana swapped it out for me. I just had a Velux Skylight and two Velux Sky Tunnels installed, and the whole experience from start to finish was about as perfect as it gets. I spoke with Diana on the phone as regards scheduling and paperwork, and worked with Patrick at my house to confirm designs. They're both cheery and easy to talk to. Also, the whole team of guys who came and worked on the construction were hard working and professional, great service all around. Freelite has been doing this for a long while. The skylight itself turned out to be somewhat complicated because of the odd shape of my roof, but the resulting asymmetrical design and finishes ended up looking so good it's like an art piece, much better than the simple symmetric shape we assumed at first. Everyone comments on how the shape/finish of the skylight looks very designer. The sky tunnels are perfect, they add the right amount of light all day. Actually, I have to tell my friends that they are not LED recessed lights, and I catch myself having to tell myself I didn't leave the lights turned on. Couple pieces of advice... For the Velux magnetic sky tunnel lid - you'll need to add extra magnets to the inside of the sky tunnel cover. The magnets that the lids come with just aren't strong enough. But, the sky tunnel cover twists off rather easily (though they're harder to twist back on), and you can get small ceramic magnets at your hardware store to tape to the underside of the cover. The small ceramic magnets work very well. For the Velux sky tunnel, I'm really really glad I added the solar-powered thick blinds. I got the room darkening white blinds, and when I close them, the entire room darkens as if the skylight was never there. Pretty impressive. The remote control that opens and closes the blinds is such a wow factor, but we always leave the blinds open. read more

Very unprofessional. I contacted them to come and take measurements for a custom skylight I am trying to have ordered. It has been over 3 weeks since they came out and I still have not heard back from anyone in this office. I have contacted them a few times. They either never answer the phone or they are telling me that they are waiting for Velux to get back to them. I have never heard of any company taking over 3 weeks to give a quote. It is unfortunate that Velux uses unprofessional companies such as Freelite to represent their products.I will be contacting their executive offices so hopefully they can direct me to another responsible location. read more

This is the second time we used Freelite Skylights, and we did so because their first work was so spectacular. The first time we used them they replaced an existing skylight that had come with our house. This time, we had them put a new one in our living room and, not only that, we asked them to place it over a beam. They did so expertly, and the work is beautiful, like a whole new living room. We live in a small cottage, and the skylight simply made the living room look bigger. Plus the expert way they placed it over the ceiling beam is a sight to behold. Our house is covered by oak tree branches, and it's fun to see the treetops and also watch squirrels romp around in them. The technicians from Freelite were curteous, on-time, and got done much faster than I expected. And the price was definitely right. The problem is we now want skylights all over our house! Freelite replaced an existing skylight with a new glass venting skylight. Patrick and Diana were great! Diana was great providing additional information my HOA required regarding the skylight, and Patrick was very professional when he came by to give the quote and install the skylight. WOW! Totally exceeded my expectations. Patrick and his team did 2 skylights for us. One was a simple replacement of an old broken one. The second was much more complicated -- they enlarged the opening of an old skylight that was leaking (required cutting more roof) and put in a solar velux. The carpentry was beautiful! They had to adjust the shape of the opening. It looks really fantastic! The team is really great -- very hard working, extremely clean, and very good. Also, Diana in the office was really responsive.
