The people, however, are extremely friendly and helpful. We decided within a hour of setting up that this was not for us, but had already driven 7 hours. We found a much better facility the next day, but had to wait until the following weekend to move. We kept to ourselves, and the blinds down. Warning. They do not give refunds. It wasn't until after they had taken payment for the month, that they informed us that the pool was out of order at least until end of summer, the gate partially worked and was transitioning to a new system, the grill area out of order. We never even bothered to go to the laundry facilities, but I would not get hopes too high. We were warned not to walk at night or in the surrounding area. This is a trailer park filled with friendly, down on their luck people. It is not a place for vacationers or even business travelers.

We were going to pull into a riverfront site but the ones on the end were the only ones open, and the grass was covered with so much duck poop - BAD! We chose a site across from them instead which was perfect! No duck poop there... As beautiful as it is to see all the duck's congregating there on the grass on the ridge, it truly is a disgusting mess. Still, it's a beautiful place and I'd recommend camping here.

In fact there was 7 PEOPLE (including Nicole's child) in the office when she complained. Nicole stayed there (as I did) during the 4H livestock auction. I'm sure she was told like we were that the auction was going on and the park was packed. The staff wasnt rude at all. SHE WAS! She kept demanding to speak to the manager and the staff told her repeatedly that they would have him contact her. They said they were sorry she didn't enjoy her stay. That wasn't good enough for her. What she wanted was a refund or a future free stay. She said so!!! She never "politely" said anything. She was ranting and preventing staff from helping the other three customers in the office. It was a customer that threatened to call police because of the way she was acting. She also left out her cussing at the staff in front of her own child. Great mom. I've stayed at Cal Expo RV Park for years. It's a parking lot. There are few amenities. Bathrooms, showers, laundry and a dog park. But there's full hookups at every site and fifty bucks for full hookups is good as any real RVer knows. I couldn't get my favorite spot because of the event but that was ok. This was their first event in over a year. Were the kids loud and ubiquitous? Yes. Can you blame them? They've been locked up a year and unable to pursue their livestock dreams. I cut them some slack. What I like about the park is the staff. They will do their best to squeeze you in if they can. And it's centrally located. Plus, if I'm not mistaken they haven't raised their prices at all this year unlike a lot of parks during covid-19. It was fifty last March when I started and fifty this past month. Anyway, I was in the room as was several others when this rude customer almost made us late for an appointment by her behavior.. Don't believe lying reviews.

We really enjoy staying here as my service dog is able to do his job but also since it's outdoors I let him be a dog and enjoy the time we spend together not 100% focused on me. The grounds are clean and nice. The pools look well kept and the weight room is perfect for a fast workout. I didn't interact with the staff as we arrived so late don our first night due to my health. I would definitely recommend if you have kids or don't have kids. The playground area is very nice and fenced in for safety reasons. My service dog was so intrigued by their remote control robot lawn mower. My dog is trained to NOT let distractions distract him but the mower had he looking and looking. Thanks for allowing us to make some memories together.
