We stayed at Pleasure Cove Campground and had a pretty good experience overall. One of the biggest advantages was availability. We were able to book our campsite only two weeks in advance while many other campgrounds in the area were already fully booked. The price was reasonable, especially considering that bathrooms and hot showers were included. We chose a campsite close to the shower building, although the campground map on the website doesn't provide much information about the surrounding areas of each site. Upon arrival, the access code had already been texted to us, making check-in quick and hassle-free. Our campsite had several trees that provided plenty of shade, and there were BBQ grills available for use, although campfires were not permitted during our stay. The campsite was also conveniently located near the lake access area for water activities. The water gets noticeably cleaner as you move into deeper areas. There is also a small convenience store located at the far end of the campground for basic supplies. The biggest drawbacks were the shower and restroom facilities. The shower stalls felt somewhat run-down, with low water pressure and water temperatures that were excessively hot. After dark, there were a lot of bugs and spiders around the facilities. The bathroom lights were not working during our stay, so we were thankful to have a powerful flashlight with us. Another challenge was the local wildlife. There were quite a few skunks roaming the campground, and they seemed very interested in digging through trash and food storage areas. We ended up storing our food and snacks inside the tent every night and whenever we left the campsite for water activities. Cell phone service was also a major issue. We have T-Mobile, and despite showing 1 bar of 5G, 2 bars of LTE, or even satellite connectivity, data service was essentially unusable. Apps like Facebook, Instagram, and even basic web pages would often fail to load. If you need reliable connectivity for work or communication, be prepared for limited service. Overall, it was a positive experience. It's a campground, not a luxury resort, and it provided the essentials we needed for a comfortable stay. Having running water, hot showers, lake access, and decent campsite amenities made it a worthwhile trip. We would consider staying here again. Pros: Easy booking, reasonable price, shade trees, lake access, convenience store, and included showers and bathrooms. Cons: Run-down showers, poor lighting in restrooms, bugs and spiders at night, persistent skunks around campsites, and very limited cell service. read more

Had a slip here for our boat for almost 2 years. Prices were outrageous and continued to go up every few months sneakily. The marina had terrible rules and overcharged for everything. The staff on the dock were all really nice but everyone in the convinent store on the water were really rude, snotty and not very knowledgeable. It was convinient to have the boat right there on the beautiful lake, but this place sucked. Not happy and the one in charge of the slips Krystal was super rude and not helpful. Screwed us on our lease and never responded timely to any emails. Get it together yall. Shouldn't be charging that much for slips either. read more

Went cabin camping in April and my son loved the little blue belly lizards scurrying around. He caught one! But of course let it go because he's such a good little guy who worried he wouldn't survive if we took him home. We also had an emergency come up where we had to leave a day early. The lady who manages the Marina store is so sweet and I dunno if it's the office manager or boat rental manager but she also helps with managing the cabin rentals and was very kind and refunded us a portion of our last day. Two stars for them moving our reservation and honoring the discount code. That was much appreciated. The address on their website, on yelp, in the emails is the side of a road. We had a hard time finding the place and when we finally did, we asked what happened with the address / how we misinterpreted where they were located. The front office guy essentially said for "legal reasons" they cannot post or send their exact address. What? What kind of nonsense is that? In addition, none of the staff had a smile on their face or were nice and welcoming. It was just such an odd energy. Like none of the employees wanted to be there. It's very frustrating when you make a trek for a special birthday and have issues finding the location, unfriendly staff, and just an all around weird experience. This Marina is beautiful and the campgrounds are also beautiful. However, if you want to launch your boat without a dock have at it. We were there yesterday and as seniors it was a nightmare launch and pulling our boat out of the water. They need docks on both side with rails. Like the dock at Steele park. I won't be going back there till they fix it. We will be launching at Steele park from now on. read more

Pleasure Cove is a beautiful resort. With recent improvements. Why you ask because they finally hired more staff. The problem is is they don't a competitive wage to retain employees. Dock fees, here are very expensive compared to other resorts. The nice thing is if you do own a houseboat or a ski boat. They have lifts in the slips and there is dock power which is a plus. I would like to see better parking and maybe some paving done. There are a lot of potholes on the road. The staff is always friendly. My shout out goes to Vivian. She runs the store. This was a cute weekend getaway! Gina was very helpful with us choosing a cabin! Our view was a perfect setting over the lake. We rented a boat for a few hours and I suggest you get there 20 mins early to get your instructions. Also be aware that due to Marina closing earlier then our return we did lose out on half an hour, because it was our first experience I didn't press the issues, I did talk to Gina on our way out and she definitely made up for our loss. She is great. The cabin was stocked with just the right essentials. It does not specify if there is or isn't a stove and we went during fire season without a propane burner so we had to buy one on site. I love that it's dog friendly. Definitely a place we plan on returning to, either with the kids or just the 2 of us. read more

Love where the location sits and I also love how there's a gate that closes at a certain time. It makes it feel more safe and exclusives. My bf and I stayed in a cabin #22. When we got there I believe our parking spot was taken there was a camper there it looks like it has been there for a while. We ended up parking across from our cabin. Which wasn't a big deal plus it wasn't crowded it was nice since it's pre-season. The cabin was cute. Love how the grounds outside by our cabin was clean and our picnic table as well. They did a good job of having the cabin clean overall. I would of given a 5 stars if the bed wasn't so blah and stains on it. I highly recommend a memory foam bed that last longer and it will persevere much more when it comes to wear and tear. Amazon got some really good inexpensive ones just saying.. this way it will help the pleasure clove attract more reviews on the 4-5 stars. Sorry, I'm in marketing/business. I'm always going into this marketing strategy mode. But overall we loved it. We walked around the camp ground and even went all the way up to cabin 14 and pass that so we can get a glimpse of the lake view. The weather was so perfect when we went. We even spot out some cabins we liked to stay in next time because of the location of where it sits and have that nice lake view. The experience we had in our cabin, let's talk about the shower, it was warm right when we turn it on after 5-6 minutes, it became cold/warm. By the time my bf was done showing he mentioned he was taking a cold shower towards after 6 minutes later. I had to wait about 25 minutes to shower next. After waiting for 25 minutes after my bf showed, right when I turned on the shower knob it was cold/warm. I hope this doesn't happen again when we come back because we do like the place. Also the toilet had stains that is something I'd give a 2/5. The shower 2/5, bed 1/5 although it was comfortable. But since we liked the area so much and the staff was friendly when we checked in, it was seamless. The next day I had to get some items from the general store and I believe I met the owner she was very pleasant and nice she was wearing their pleasure cove blue shirt uniform which was nice. I love seeing the energy of representing what they are about. Customer sometimes can override everything else and it's so important. Also since it's a family business run, I'm a huge supporter on local businesses and stuff like this. There's just a few things to improve. In fact I'd love to write above Pleasure Cove on my website if the owners don't mind. Until then see you all again! read more

We keep our boat here for the summer in a slip and bring out trailer a few weekends to camp. Andrew at the dock is so helpful and friendly and goes out of his way to help. I am so disappointed with the management of pleasure cove resort at Lake Berryessa. We took our boat out 5/18 the first nice weekend of the season. We had an issue with our boat while headed to pleasure cove to check out the water levels compared to when we were there last. Another boater pulled us into the dock so we could figure out the issue. The guys working the gas/rentals were so helpful and tried to troubleshoot for us. When we asked if they could run us over to Steele Canyon to pick up our truck and trailer the GM said no, call the sheriff. So what would have took them MAYBE 30 mins ended up taking us 3 hrs of blocking up part of their gas dock. So early in the season to not have a plan for when this happens? Usually boaters are really helpful and willing to help but there was a bass tourney happening at PC too. So they were on time constraints. Worst part of it all... my severely disabled son was with us! The GM was even told we had a disabled child with us! Wow! We have never gotten that kind of response. People are always so kind at the lake and especially with our son. I am really disappointed in the MANAGEMENT and our family has been coming to Lake Berryessa for 40 years and have never been treated like that. We will no longer camp, launch, fuel or patronize the store again. read more

Lake Berryessa Pleasure Cove Campground 8/4-8/6 Arrived to our campsites at 8pm, I booked two next to each other, seemingly on the water. Sites were 136 and 137. Signage was poor and the sites were difficult to find. Did find them and they were not next to each other and someone was already set up in 137 and said they had booked in advance. I pulled up my reservations and realized that although I had two reservation confirmations, neither referenced site numbers. There were however notes in the confirmations that I had entered when booking citing 136 and 137 as the sites I booked. We walked to the store which had a closed sign and a woman on the phone inside. She did let me in and when I told her there was already someone in 137 she advised that that had been happening all night and it was a mess and security was trying to move people around but that she was just the store clerk. She said the office manager printed her a list of names and site numbers and gave it to her before she left and that's all she knew or had and she didn't have access to any systems and people had been yelling at her about this all night. Office manager was not answering her phone. I asked to see the list to verify which sites I was booked at and the list showed 136 and 54, which were on opposite sides of the campground. I told the store clerk I understand there's nothing she could do about it, but we had 8 people and I had booked two sites next to each other for that reason. I went to see if 136 could suffice for my group since we no longer had two sites next to each other. I got to 136 and the site was trashed. There was garbage everywhere and the fire pit, which was staked in place even though there is a fire ban, was also full of garbage. There was broken glass everywhere and a literal crack pipe in the bushes along with an entire bbq grill that was thrown down the side of the hill. By the time we cleaned everything up, it was pitch black and we set up in the dark. The group camping next to us was also awful. They were loud and threatening their kids from the time we got there until they went somewhere around 9:30pm. The group came back at 11:45pm, screaming a yelling, turned multiple generators on, started a fire, and cranked up their speaker. This did not stop until 3am and my requests for them to keep it down at 1am were ignored. The 10pm quiet hours along with the fire ban are obviously not enforced. The next day I went back to the store to see who we were supposed to call to enforce quiet hours and was given the number for security but was also told they aren't around past 8pm and I could call the sheriffs office instead. The same woman from the first night was there and she said that the office manager told her that online reservations are never guaranteed the spot they booked and the only way to guarantee the spot is to call and book over the phone. What exactly is the purpose of the online booking system if at the end of the day a camper is required to call to secure their spot? We later ran into the people who were at 136 and they said they called 3 weeks ago and asked for that spot and were told it was available and booked it. They would have called about 2 weeks after I had already booked the site online. Someone clearly bumped me to book them, but I was never informed. We went down to the beach the next day with our dogs to relax in the water and were disappointed, but unsurprised to see that the beach was also disgusting. We spent another hour in the heat picking up glass and trash before we were able to feel like we could enjoy the water without us or the dogs getting injured. I did still trip over a random rusty pipe that was sticking out of the ground 18 inches. I do not think this feedback will make a difference, because if anyone actually cared about the campground or camper experience, things wouldn't have been in this state to begin with, but after all of this I certainly would never come back and am also expecting a full refund for both campsites. read more

Great friendly staff. Very basic cabins: do note that they don't provide bed spread, blankets, towels, soap, kitchen tissue paper. They are explicit about it. So go prepared. The units come with a refrigerator, microwave, sink and bunk beds. No food choices nearby: at least 20min away is the nearest restaurant. There's a convenient store where one can purchase snacks, beer, water, etc. What makes this place great is the pleasant waters and the remote feel. Will likely visit again. read more

We weren't even able to make a reservation due to Lynn's unwillingness to provide any kind of customer service what so ever. I wouldn't believe all of the good reviews online... they pretty much buy their reviews. There's an offer where if you write a 5 star review they give you a free shirt, cup or sticker. As an avid camper (camped most of california and been to many places in other states), I have to say this place is probably one of the lesser desired places for basic camping at Lake Baryessa unless MAYBE worth it if you have your own boat. For the price you pay ($45ish a night even on sunday, monday and Tuesday) for a campsite it really wasn't worth it. Ive paid $25 at other basic camp grounds around the area that had more amenities and access to the lake than this place and it was the same safety level around the area. 1. Yes they have a basic bbq grill, small fire ring (with a minor tree hazard - trees need to be trimmed near fire pit) the lots are shady and pretty views, its spacious, 2 car max per site, but it kind of sucks when you're caged in during camping. They lock the gates at 8pm so no in and out privileges past that time. so I guess that makes it safe? 2. It seemed more like hotel rules than anything. Check in at 3pm, check out at noon, quite hours at 10pm, not a lot of areas for hiking and no areas for swimming at the lake unless you have a boat docked (extra fee) or rented (extra fee) then you have to take the boat to get to a good swimming area. No swimming, fishing or boating 100 feet from the docks, which seemed to be the only real entry point to the water. The other hikeable entry points (no vehicle entry to the lake) had horrible marshy areas and the water was not really a great place to swim with dangerous rocks and algae. So basically, if you have no boat no lake water for you! 3. There's no free showers (kind of ridiculous considering the price) and the showers do smell horribly, portapoties are greatly spaced out and accessible so a plus and they're kept pretty clean. 4. Water was accessible, I wouldnt say drinkable but good for cleaning. 5. No added activities or access to even renting activities, kind of wierd when you pay more than a KOA campground which has so many activities available. You can rent a boat, hours are 8am-12 or 12pm to 4pm. Which I guess is ok? But not worth the price for the types of boats available. 6. Dogs are allowed (massive plus) no restrictions on sizing. $10 per dog which is cool. I feel like they tax people here a lot it's pretty sad considering people just want to get away and be one with nature and play on the water. People at the gate are really mean, asked a simple question of where the campsite is and the lady said "just look at this map" and handed us a piece of paper. Oookay, first time there... you didn't hand us the map first and get snarky when we ask where our site is. they arent too friendly in the first place, horrible customer service skills at the gate. we didn't even bother asking other questions because we didn't want to ruin our camping trip. BUT I do have to say the convenience store is pretty nice. The girls working there are the sweetest! Went in there a couple of times and they were always so helpful, I bought a cute sweater and the girl working even cut the tags off of me because I wanted to wear it out the store. I wish I got her name, she deserves a raise with such Great customer service! And the boat dock workers work so hard (men in red vests) they cleaned up some pretty nasty things from the parties that happened over the weekend in the houseboats. They're real MVPs right there. Overall, if you want to basic camp, go somewhere else around the lake. If you have a boat to dock, this is pretty much your time to shine out here. have fun! Can't say much about houseboat rental or cabin rental, but not worth it for us to try it out, seen better been at better places too for a better price too. read more

I've been to Lake Berryessa a few times but my first time at Pleasure Cove Marina. First advice: DON'T MISS THE BLUE SIGN off the HWY that says "Pleasure Cove Marina". Doesn't say where to turn, just turn up THAT road next to the sign. (I saw a few cars making a U-turn off the HWY) Call ahead for the gate code. We thought we were gonna be late, so we just so happen to call in advance & they said no problem. There was no check-in process & nobody confirmed our campsite reservation when we drove in. Hassle free for us (I'm not complaining, but I suppose anybody can just come in then). Lot 126 stood on top of a hill & overlooked the entry-road & cove. (I noticed the campground map was a little deceiving with the way our site was located, but it was easy to find). I saw reviews saying the sites are poorly numbered but ours was posted on a marker & spray painted on a fence. Nonetheless, beautiful location, it was better than I expected. I didn't have any neighbors since it was along the edge of a hill. There was your typical porta-potty (shared between lots 123-127) . It was clean when we arrived on Friday but it was already filthy by Friday night. You had your normal share of spiders above your head, but at waist & feet level it was clear of insects. I was at least thankful there was a toilet nearby otherwise it's quite a walk to a real bathroom. Personally, I only saw 2 bathrooms; one near the entry & one near the store. Had sinks, but no mirrors. Decently clean. Toilet paper stocked. H& dryer, no paper towels. No water faucets at the campground site to wash dishes, brush teeth, etc. No electrical outlets that I could find either. We did find a faucet near the entry bathroom & we washed our utensils there. There was trees for shade, but no where to hang a hammock, & the campground consisted of gravel, dirt/dry grass. On arrival, it was fairly clean, just a few old wrappers scattered. Clean for my dogs & I'm happy they're pro-pets. Camp fires were not permitted. It was Saturday & I couldn't rent a boat because it was last minute & if you don't have some sort of water craft then you can't really see out to the main lake. I was really set on taking the kids for a swim but there's NO BEACH. I looked through multiple reviews to see where people were hanging out on hot days but there was no real information I could find, so I'll tell you my experience. We drove past the marina & docks, up to where the cabins are & theres no place to get in the water other than between lot 137 - 157. You can find 2-3 spots between the trees to slipperly walk down to the water. There you can launch a floaties. The edge of the water was squishy but I suggest water shoes to protect your feet so you can at least linger in the water to escape the heat while dodging all the muck floating by you. There was only enough space for my family to sit on the ground along the water. There was nooooo way to set up chairs because it's on incline that doesn't level out. It was extremely hot, so we were desperate for a spot to cool off at. HOWEVER, there WAS a small little section along the water where I saw enough space for someone to set up a canopy, chairs, park up several paddle boards, & for several people to hang out at. This I would say is the best spot to relax, but I felt uncomfortable because you literally have to cut through someone's campsite to access it (I think lot 136 & 137). They do have security patrolling at night. He drives his car with strobing lights so that reassuring. The noise really cut down around 9pm but not completely. You still have some fellow neighbors playing music quietly, singing, & laughing. It went till about 3am, but I didn't mind because I know people are having a good time. It wasn't at a disrespectful level & I did see patrol making pit stops to those campsites. The marina store was cute, but it wasn't big at all. They carried a h&ful of spare camping items, souvenirs, & snacks. The employees go out of their way to see that you find everything you need & take the time to chit chat for a bit. Honestly, I feel that they should exp& their store with more items... they would make a lot if they carried just a few more stuff. That's just my opinion. Nonetheless, they offer FREE COFFEE! In conclusion, as a person without a boat, jet ski, or water craft, I would like to suggest creating a better place for people to hang out & swim along the water. I overheard a woman, perhaps a "regular", who said she wanted to take a shovel & carve out some stairs along the steep dirt path that led to the water. (I thought it was funny but so true) Wouldn't it be easy to just groom a path, exp&, & advertise a section for swimming? I'm sure there are rules that I don't know about but as a mother looking for summer fun for the kids, this is something that would be a real selling point. People are gonna find a way to get into the water so why not groom the edges better? read more

This place is not a spot to bring a family or an RV. The sites are so unlevel, even levelers won't help. Sites are poorly marked from the road and there's no one in site to help. Store closes before 5pm and we only saw security once (the day we were leaving). Groups site raged to loud music until the sun came up. No good spots to swim and cool off. Full hook up sites are treacherous for even the most seasoned camper. Book anywhere else until they decide to step it up. These negative reviews going back a year suggest the owners couldn't care less. read more
