We were looking for something fun to do during the day and figured you can't go wrong with a California State Park. While the park itself didn't disappoint, I'll admit we barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer. After paying the entrance fee, we drove around a bit but found there weren't too many roads to explore by car. We stopped at the lake long enough to take a few pictures and for me to use the restroom. The seasonal workers cleaning the bathrooms were friendly, though they were unable to share any fun facts about the lake (I guess I won't hold it against them). Since I don't have a boat, there was no getting out on the water... though one of my friends teased me to go inquire about the young man zipping around on a jet ski. Aside from boating, it seems like there are also camping spots and some hiking trails but we didn't get our shoes dirty on this visit. If I return, I'd love to slow things down and enjoy the park properly by maybe setting up a hammock by the lake, getting out on the water, or even trying a little fishing - as long as someone else handles the bait and any fish I inevitably catch! Overall, a beautiful spot with plenty of potential, I just need a do-over to experience it fully.

So welcoming, friendly, helpful and the little store has all kinds of things one might need, i.e. sodas , water, beer and wine, snacks, personal care, souvenirs etc... There's a patio deck overlooking the marina/docks on the river, its old and definitely could use some attention, maybe a little facelift, and even some music? We were going to pull into a riverfront site but the ones on the end were the only ones open, and the grass was covered with so much duck poop - BAD! We chose a site across from them instead which was perfect! No duck poop there... As beautiful as it is to see all the duck's congregating there on the grass on the ridge, it truly is a disgusting mess. Still, it's a beautiful place and I'd recommend camping here.

Campground sits on wet muddy grass. Not all of the sites are full hook up like they advertise, they…read morehave a "dump station" but it's not very convenient for big rigs and for how small the campground is. The road to get in and out is terrible. They have painted blue/white lines on the grass to outline your site and god forbid you accidentally run over the line with your rig Jim the "owner" will come out and lose his s#*t. Laundry room/ bathroom smell terrible and could be maintained cleaner. The whole campground is crusty... the "owner" Jim is an ass.

They're so helpful. They're so quick to like answer any of your questions they make yourself available for you know this place is so clean. I walk my little dog. You don't even see a cigarette, but on the ground the location the area if you go down the street a little bit not that good but that place is amazing and it's so clean and so nice the bathrooms they're amazingly clean. I've never been into one where they're dirty the maintenance you see them men out there ring sleet snow in hell mowing the lawns doing the maintenance. It's such a heartwarming place. I won't go to another camp besides to take my RV that will be the only place that I go thank you guys so much for making me feel so welcomed and thank you for asking me how I feel.

This year we extended our stay and Jennifer the manager at the front desk was super accommodating and kind. This is the best place to take kids camping our site was paved and clean. There were plenty of activities to choose from daily and the bears were very friendly the main blonde lady who was the bears handler made each kid have a special experience and was so sweet to all the kids. Kathy at the duck races was super sweet and gave our girls a fun experience. The lifeguards were kind and helpful but also stayed on guard consistently. The only not so great part was unsupervised teens in the water park but you could see the lifeguards actively dealing with it so it was more of a parenting issue. I would highly recommend the paved rv/trailer sites if it's in your budget.
