I was 5 min away & they said to just come on in! I'm so grateful that the vet was willing to trust a dog he's never met & pull the quill without sedation. They said Gypsum did great and just sat there calmly (as I was hoping he would). I can tell the doctor had a very no-nonsense approach, and I really appreciate that! This place was great to visit. However, we were planning to adopt two cats but when at the very…read morelast minute things went wrong (life happens, yknow) and we could only take one. We still adopted one of them but the staff were clearly not happy with us. We took our kitten and got our paperwork and left. Later we checked to see about getting some of our money back and it was obvious that they were still upset with us, regardless of the fact that we had still taken one of the kitties to a nice home and the other one was adopted (or, if not, would be soon because it's a cute fluffy kitten) and nothing really happened that was our fault. On top of that, we had to pay $100 more in vet bills a week later because our cat was sick from any of the 100 cats they have in that tiny house. Apparently this shelter has a reputation with the local vets too. So if you're thinking of adopting here make sure you have the money to get your new sick kitten taken care of and so unlike us you aren't unexpectedly left wanting for food and rent money. Overall, pretty okay place, volunteer staff, what can you expect? I was thinking of volunteering sometime but after this experience I think they're better off without me.
