Guys, it was THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'D EVER HAD. It was lava hot, juicy, and greasy. It was also absolutely delicious. I was concerned that the thigh meat was going to taste different. But I could not tell.The fries were crinkle cut, but were seasoned well. Didn't even need ketchup for them. The place is very clean and they had 80s music playing in the background, my favorite decade of music. Not surprising, being an 80s kid. The damage all told, including a tip, was $25. Stopped in after leaving the Quarter headed back to NTX based on Yelp reviews. Southerns uses boneless chicken thigh meat instead of dry white meat. Husband's no spicy fried chicken sandwich was juicy and perfectly complimented by slightly spicy coleslaw. I went with the first step up spice level on the 3 piece chicken tenders. Darn things were spicy as all get out!. Good flavor with the signature sauce, but definitely NOT mild. Loved the seasoned fries. Daughter opted for the pork chop sandwich which was very tasty, but way over sauced with double aioli and coleslaw. Service was friendly and fast. Ive been a fan of Southerns for a while. This was my first time visiting the brick and mortar location. I ordered online and order was ready on arrival. They were pretty packed for a Friday afternoon and the parking lot was small and full. I tried the sweet prince and fries and it was delicious! The perfect amount of sweet heat, more sweet than heat. Yep listed under Poboy but the only poor boy they have is a fried shrimp Poboy with a Crawfish sauce now if I was going to do a shrimp Poboy, wouldn't you logically put a shrimp sauce over it if you want sauce at all. I absolutely love this place and I go as often as I can. Today I came out for the Korean fried chicken sandwich and my brothers and sisters, it did not disappoint. Not only that, but the spice flavor to it gave off a very southern/cajun flavor. The sauce on it had an aioli kick to it, which I really liked. The Phuket Fries were really good too. They weren't stingy with the amount of fries compared to other places, so I give them props for that. The spice level was less than I thought (I just got regular spicy) so I want to try the hotter level. But the chicken was so juicy and batter so flavorful. I've definitely tried Southerners more than once, but only in the food trucks. This is my first time going to the brick and mortar store. I went around 8: 45pm on a Sunday night which was my fault. But they greeted me nonetheless Very happily. The restaurant for what I can see had a nice setup. It was straightforward to the point you go up to the counter and order your food and they call your number to pick up. I ordered one OG chicken sandwich with zero spice level. That was a mistake. Definitely get at least one level up the flavor is worth it and it's not that bad of spice and the chicken. Patty was huge as always and the other was the spicy chili honey glazed chicken sandwich which was okay. I should have got the OG. It had a spice level that was a little bit above mild But no coleslaw nonetheless still good. The only food item I would change are the fries. I wouldn't get those again. I will try something else. They were pretty plain. Nothing. I believe I would have enjoyed it more if I would have sat down to eat instead of getting it to go and chowing down in my car still a good experience and I'll go again earlier so I can sit down and enjoy the full dining experience read more
