The cinnamon brioche is immersed in the most exquisite batter and generously sprinkled with powdered sugar. While the beignets won't outdo the best version I've had in New Orleans, they're incredibly flaky and very tasty! All the recipes and the food quality here is stupendous. But best of all, the restaurant is well staffed so they effortlessly accommodate heavy volume at this highly popular brunch spot. We went to French toast ATL for brunch with friends today a bit after noon. The food was good and the staff was very attentive. The grilled chicken po boy wasn't very flavorful and lacked seasoning but the potato wedges were 10/10 The beignets were really good and I would definitely get those again! The French toast was made with challah bread and was feet soft and flavorful, I didn't even need to add syrup to them :) Go in around 1pm it was pretty busy but with a reservation we were sat right away, everyone was having a good time and the ambiance was very relaxed. It didn't feel crowded at all despite the place being packed. Staff is pleasant. Service is slow. Food is ok. Didn't have drinks. Four of us at 1 on a Sunday. Four different dishes rated one "very good" and three "ok's." Biggest issue was underseasoning. My egg, however, was a perfect over- medium. The restaurant is all hard surfaces, from the exposed duct work to the concrete floor, so it is LOUD. French toast is in a small parking lot off of Wendy Hill so parking can be a little difficult. I arrived and was able to be seated outside immediately on a Sunday so that was nice. The problems began after that our waitress didn't come back for like 10 minutes to bring us our waters then she said she give us a few minutes to look at the menu and didn't come back for another 1012 minutes. We finally ordered our food. It took 43 minutes to get our food by that time. My toddler was throwing things off the table and starving. We got our food. The kids real French toast came on the tail end of the bread and was not good whatsoever. The pancake though was amazing and the potato wedges were great. I got a salmon plate. The salmon had no seasoning on it and the eggs were fine. After finishing our food, our waitress still had not returned since we ordered our food so we never got a refill on any of our drinks and we had to fly down another waiter to get our checks and to go boxes. So the audacity for gratuity to be automatically added into the check is ridiculous. It seems like a lot of restaurants in Atlanta gratuity to compensate their workers for their poor service. This place looked super cool in pictures, a very "it" place to be. The service was ok, after I waved him down (sat as the only person at the bar for over 8 mins before I could get his attention - he was busy talking to the other staff). The food was decent. In my option, a bit too much cinnamon in the batter, but some people I'm sure love it. I think if I were to have gotten one of the fancier, more creative orders it probably would have been better, but I got the plain French toast, no extra cinnamon or powdered sugar. Today was the first time we came here on a Saturday (around 12:30pm). We were 3 people and had a 30 minute wait. The place was packed! They have a full bar, nice coffee choices, juices and soda's. I had the pork sausage bowl with seasoned potatoes and scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. It came out warm and was just okay. The potatoes were a bit soft, a nice crunch would have been nicer, but they were well seasoned. The pork sausage was okay but not great, maybe adding a little sage in them would have brought the taste nicer. My scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked as you can see in my picture. Our server was trying to be nice but she was too busy to attend to us. The big downside of this place was that they added 18% gratuity automatically to our check, maybe that's why our server was not very attentive. She knew she was getting a 18% tip either way. We ended up going here on a whim after another popular brunch spot had too long of a wait. We could request a check in online and they had a QR code at the table. Our waitress Katie was SPECTACULAR! It's been a long time since I've had great service until now. Her knowledge of the menu went way beyond what was expected. Easily gave us recommendations and she stated that there wasn't anything on the menu she didn't like. Please please please order the beignets. Four fluffy and perfectly chewy puffs of magic with powdered sugar alongside a coffee blew my mind. Also by the way the "standard" coffee roast was very, very good. This is often a stale point with most brunch spots. It really reminded me of Cafe Du Mond in New Orleans just minus the chickory coffee. Our party ordered several French toast items. They have a separate kids menu which are smaller portions that the regular so you aren't stuck with a bunch of food your child doesn't eat. We got the strawberries drizzled with chocolate. Also the blueberry with cream cheese filling and s'mores inspired versions. The blueberry one was decadent and laced with a lot of berries to counterbalance the richness of the cream cheese. The s'mores was very rich and the melted marshmallows was delicious in itself. The portion sizes for these were huge so come hungry! The bread itself was more dense and moist, not dry. We also ordered the egg sandwich with jalapeño and pepper jack cheese (recommended by Katie!!). Big portion served on fresh brioche style bread and a generous amount of perfectly crispy bacon. My wife devoured the sandwich which I know she only does if the food really caught her attention. Lastly we had a kale salad. You can choose which protein (chicken was the least expensive). A light lemon vinaigrette with shaved Parmesan, golden raisins and pecans was very satisfying and a lighter fare if you're watching your palate. There are plenty of vegetarian items also. Honestly there were sooooo many other items I would try but our bellies were full and there was no room left!! Just a note, they include a tip already in your bill and give you options to add to the waitstaff tip which isn't told to you. I was eyeing their cocktail and "spiced" coffee selection which I certainly will try. There are interesting Caribbean item involving curried goat, braised oxtail and ribs (these appear on plates with sides, as a crepe and over grits). Price points go quite high so I have a hard time justifying 25-30 dollars for a brunch item. We were seated right away and directed to the QR code for the menu. I noticed other tables had actual menus which we thought was odd. This was the perfect home before it got seriously busy. This included takeout and dine in orders. The service is top tier with the hostess, door service and our server working together. This places is right off a main road before the highway. It's easy and hard to miss, there's a Joann French toast waving you in. I'm local and pass the bread often but never was curious enough to go inside. My family met here for a brunch one day and the fact that it was basically walking distance from me and I've never been in was hilarious to me. The staff was attentive. The food was amazing. The sauce on the grits was also super flavorful and generous, and the grits were smooth and not too chunky. This dish really blew me away! The banana foster French toast was also good, the bread was pillowy soft and had a banana bread like almost flavor(?) with a generous caramel sauce on top. While good, the grits were just so stellar I couldn't stop eating it. The latte that came out was also very nice. I came on a weekend where they had live piano music, and this really helped with an enjoyable, lively, yet relaxing ambiance. Esmerelda was my waitress and she did a fantastic job making sure I had everything I needed, and she was also super friendly. The service here was stellar, and at the end of the meal they gave me a little hand wipe which is very thoughtful and appreciated. First and foremost, the service was impeccable. Someone was constantly touching the table. From management, the owner, the chef, WOOOWWWWW!!!! Came here as a walk-in party of 2 and were immediately greeted and told we can sit where ever we would like. Our server was over with a few minutes and got started awful drinks. She was very kind and attentive throughout the experience. I got the turkey and ham crêpes, banana Foster French toast, and grits. Turns out that the crepes only had one protein in it and it was just ham. Ended up not being the biggest fan, but that's just personal preference. The French toast is amazing! I'd get it again and I really enjoyed the grits. We look forward to coming back. read more
