Stephanie is hands down one of the best bartenders at Atkins Park Tavern! She's incredibly friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome the second you sit down. Even when the bar is busy, Stephanie is on top of everything, drinks stay full, service is fast, and she always has a great attitude. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. Great drinks, great personality, and outstanding service. Updating my review to 1 star - this same bar manager, Jesse, confronted me the next time I saw him and said if I didn't change my review from 3 stars, I'm no longer allowed in the bar. So, just so the public knows, if you speak openly about your honest experience at Atkins and it's not a 5 star review, you will be threatened to be removed from the bar unless you change it. This is 100% unethical and I've never encountered this level of unprofessionalism in my life. Will be letting BBB know what happened here, and I will be telling my friends, who come here regularly with me after run club, and everyone I encounter, to avoid this place at all cost. I also had Atkins as a recommendation for my Airbnbs, which I will definitely be removing. The management here needs a serious do over before it's acceptable. Do better Atkins. Everyone should go to Vintage or Stillfire, where the customer service has always been top tier and they manage their business ethically. Atkins Park has been my favorite bar in Smryna for years and I've been coming consistently since 2022. The past couple of years I've started coming even more, up to a couple of times a week, since I go to a Monday run club that meets in the village. I'll often bring my running friends over for post run food and drinks. The bartenders are amazing and I consider many of them my friends. The food is good and the atmosphere has always been fun and welcoming up until recently. Unfortunately, an incident happened with a bar manager on Friday evening that has made me decide to take a pause from coming to Atkins for a while. I've gotten really comfortable with the employees, bartenders and bar managers, and we often joke with each other, but the bar manager on Friday did not like a joke I made and he handled it by aggressively threatening to kick me out of the bar. I understand if a joke doesn't land right. Some jokes aren't for everyone. If he kindly told me he didn't appreciate it, I would have understood and never joked that way again, but threating to kick someone out, especially a regular, felt like a huge over reaction. It was very embarrassing and upsetting for me. I feel like someone who works so closely with the public and is a manager should have better reactions and conflict resolution skills. read more

This location is in the heart of the downtown of Smyrna in a plaza with other restaurants and cafés . The first time I went to this place it red for a drink going drying the day is a diffent vibe. They have a karaoke stage bar area and a side for a restaurant with seats booths and I think I saw high tops outside and inside. We weren't great right away this visit to eat at the restaurant but the service was great and quick. The food came out right away. Cute local tavern in Smyrna. We were able to walk in for lunch on the patio on a Saturday without any issues which was great. The server Jordan was very hospitable. We opted to try the fried grouper, Caesar salad, creole shrimp po boy with broccoli salad and a cheeseburger. Came in expecting an oyster fest after prepaying for our tickets online only to realize we could have just walked in for free and order the oysters. lol! Soon as we arrived the energy was weird and the staff was overwhelmed and gave us conflicting answers and information regarding the oyster fest. Ordered our food before getting our table because there was 45 minutes wait. An hour later our table was ready and then they couldn't find our orders. Once we finally got our food most of it we had to send back because either it was cold or undercooked. Atkins Park Tavern clearly leans toward a European palate. If you're expecting big Southern seasoning or layered spice, this isn't that lane. The wings were really fleshy and had an odd texture. Not terrible, just not enjoyable. The bigger issue was the she-crab soup. It tasted spoiled, like it had been sitting longer than it should have, and I couldn't finish it. Service and atmosphere were ok, which is why this stays at three stars. Hopefully this was just an off night because of the event, but as it stands 4 out of 10 I do NOT recommend. read more

Michael was a wonderful server! I certainly wasn't expecting to have such a good time with him on a random weeknight, but he made our first-time experience that much better. The bartender (Liz maybe? It was a week or so ago) was so welcome, inviting, energetic and attentive to our needs. She constantly checked in on us at the bar and could pour a beer faster than anyone. The craft beer selection was killer, the cocktail selection plentiful and the specials solid and inexpensive. The Cajun-inspired menu is varied (good luck narrowing down your order) and the food is so good. Most of all, the VIBES are immaculate. Think local neighborhood bar/tavern with nooks and crannies to chill in. There's also a small bandstand for live music, an outdoor patio (enclosed when it's cold) and a fireplace to cozy up to when it's actually cold in Georgia. Recently attended this location for a wedding party; while some of the servers were lovely and helpful, the management of the establishment was rude, wishy-washy, and generally incapable of providing the hospitality one would hope to receive when celebrating such an important life moment. The manager himself was continuously unpleasant and predatory, constantly trying to squeeze another dollar or two out of our party in a way that seemed not only unsavory, but calculated and in his normal routine. They don't miss here. This location has a solid local customer base and always doing events to cater to their menu offerings. New Orleans/Cajun food with a dash of Southern delights and American favorites. You can get a Hurricane to sip with your burger or fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. I appreciate the weekly specials, weekly brews and they acknowledge where food is sourced. It's local energy & great food. On this night we celebrated my cousin's 60th birthday so it was special but not the main event. They told us a complimentary dessert was optional and the Manager came out to chat with us. They don't wait for your entire party to be seated. There's no automatic gratuity. No hookah. The bar is well stocked and there's indoor or outdoor patio seating. Oh, drinks are reasonable priced! Jennifer took amazing care of my during my visit for the Crawfish Boil. In addition to the great service, I really enjoyed the Crawfish Pie and the Hurricane Cocktail had a nice "kick" to it. The crawfish, though a nice size, were over cooked along with the corn. The potatoes in the boil were dry; I wish they would have been boiled with the crawfish. If you're a Georgia implant from Louisiana like me and are homesick, go here and eat the shrimp poboy. Crispy bread, perfectly fried juicy shrimp (on the small side, but very good) and delicious remoulade sauce. Got mine with the hand cut fries, and which were great but I barely touched because I ate the entire poboy and feel like a stuffed pig. I did start with the gumbo, I would change a few things about it, but gumbo is such a personal taste! (I'd say less rice and okra, but had perfect spice and great flavor) Wish I had room for the beignets, they're the real deal. Great service, the ambiance on the patio is as good as you'll get in a strip shopping area, only complaint is that the bathrooms definitely give away the fact that this must be a fun bar at night I'll be back. read more

The pot roast was clearly spoiled. The order was strong and unmistakable. Atkins Park is a long standing restaurant/tavern that is located in Smyrna Market Village. This is one of two Atkins Parks in the metro Atlanta area, with the second and original located in the Highlands area of the city. This location almost seems like 3 different restaurants given the layout and the distinct vibe that each area has. There is a formal dining area that features a mixture of booths and tables clad with white linen, then you have a covered patio with metal tables with the same white linen and a few TV's which has a slightly more chill vibe and then you have the tavern/old school bar area that is just that. This is my favorite part Atkins Park, as you feel like you are in your local bar when you walk in here. You have a few booths lining the walls, but majority of this space is the bar. Service has always been solid here...kind of slow, but it is never bad. The servers are always very friendly, helpful and overall pleasant. Again, only issue is delayed service. Parking is never an issue. There are a few spaces in front, however those fill up quick. In that case you will find a few lots behind the building and other spaces and lots around SMV. Food wise, Atkins Park is a Cajun restaurant at it's core. However, they do have a healthy variety of items on the menu! I have eaten here for all meals and I will say that my favorite is brunch, which is probably their least Cajun menu. The menu is limited, but features the classics of a three egg and meat plate, chicken and waffles and even pancakes. However, my favorite item is hands down the Chilaquiles. I would have never guessed that some of my favorite Chilaquiles would come from an American/Cajun spot, but who doesn't love surprises!? Overall, Atkins Park is a local neighborhood favorite of ours here in Smyrna and honestly, I think that is exactly what they were aiming for! It is always filled with good food, solid service and a good time whether it be for brunch, dinner, game day or a local celebration! read more
