I am very late to the frozen yogurt party. First because the trend was pretty late to hit this area, but also because I assumed it was like frozen yogurt was way "back in the day"--grainy, no flavor selection, and just not tasty. The opening of the YoCream at Cascade Station cleared all that up for me. I never would have guessed that frozen yogurt could be so smooth and rich tasting! Once I tried the pistachio, I was completely sold. I started checking out other places around town. Though the taste was still good, the experience often left a lot to be desired. Then Frenzi opened in Gresham. First off, convenient! Yay, the rare trendy and tasty thing that actually comes to Gresham. Second, nice! Where other shops have harsh bright lights and a couple uncomfortable tiny tables, Frenzi is clearly meant for hanging out and getting comfortable. Couches, pillows, fake fireplace--this is a place to go year-round, not just to run in and out on a hot summer day. Frenz offers 8 different yogurt flavors at a time. Their website says they have over 60 different toppings, which though I haven't actually counted sounds a bit high. It's at least as many as a typical shop, though. Candies, fruit, nuts, cereal, hot fudge, all the usual stuff. I guess once you count the bottles of dessert sauce and shakers of sprinkles it could reach 60. They lose one star for me because with something like this, where flavors are being changed out all the time, it's important to be able to tell when your favorite is on tap. Their website lists a "flavor menu," but it is not accurate to what's actually in the store. They post "flavor updates" to facebook, but this is just the new ones, not the complete list. Nor can you figure from that which flavors have been taken off to make room. I want to know before I go. You also have to be careful with these by-the-ounce type things. That's not at all a criticism specific to Frenzis (I think they're charging the same per ounce as everyone else), but a mound of yogurt that doesn't look like *that* much to your hungry eyes, plus a little bit of this topping, a little bit of that one, and oh that hot fudge looks yummy... it really adds up and this can turn into one expensive treat. read more

This is our family's new favorite place! Everyone can get exactly what they want- my children get the "independence" they so desire by choosing their own yogurt and toppings. My husband and I get to relax while they happily eat ice cream in a state of my-parents-are-so-cool bliss (that only lasts until we leave). I do have one minor complaint- I wish that they had a smaller "small" size. The current small size is about the same size as a child's stomach- since we usually go as an after dinner treat, we wind up tossing (and paying for) some frozen yogurt. In a perfect world, my children would think "my body only needs half this much", and I'd have the ability to easily monitor what goes in to their bowls. In the real world, they work together- one tries to disctract me while the other quickly fills his bowl with enough ice cream to feed himself and three friends. I admit that this isn't Frenzi's fault, but an 8oz. cup would be so appreciated! read more

I know its another Frozen yogurt store. Maybe not. This place has one distinction that i have not seen anywhere else. The staff helps you. It also has a milkshake machine. There are multiple flavors in the machine and you just pick and it takes a second to switch to your flavor but then you have a milkshake ready to go. Its also Milkshake mondays where you get a milkshake for half price. They have punch cards much like any other place. It is a clean buffet of toppings. I would say they have more fruit than most places but still offer the sweet stuff for the kids. Its a fun place and they have outdoor seating which just makes your dessert melt faster but what the shade is pretty good and does not make the outside seating unbearable during the summer. There is indoor seating although it is limited. I dont see many people sitting indoors here it is kind of a take and go place the way it its set up. Lots of flavor selections the flavors change seems to be almost daily. I have never been in there with the same flavors as before. I have also not been there everyday to verify. Point is they rotate flavors and keep things interesting. Hope to see you there or see you coming and going anyway. I do take advantage of the milkshake mondays although I shouldnt. read more

One of my family is dairy free, and thankfully this place always seems to have dairy free options! Whether it be some sort of fruit sorbet or almond or coconut milk "ice cream" they have always had one or all on tap when we've gone there. We go about 6 times a year, for 2-3 years now... my personal favorite is the salted caramel fro-yo. The offerings rotate, but they always have chocolate and vanilla and a variety of sugar free, or nonfat, or regular frozen delights :-) read more

4.5 stars rounded up. As a frequent visitor with my family, we would really like see more flavor variety. They always seem to have four every day flavors (Choc, Van, cheesecake, and cake batter). There are a few other flavors that are seen frequently enough that combined with the every day flavors it often feels like there's a lack of choice. Push the boring chocolate, vanilla, cake batter and tart people to try something new! Throw in a daily off-the-rails flavor. Yo Cream makes them. They (Yo Cream) have 95 flavors actually! And Frenzi, please add more seasonal flavors to go with seasonal toppings. At least two at a time. Please. Only having eggnog, but not gingerbread or peppermint candy in December is blasphemous. So... as a business owner I am always willing to give a small donation to a fundraiser. sometimes I am able to give more than other times. today a friend and I walked downtown Gresham and had some wonderful responses. I know that businesses get hit up for donations often and some have larger budgets for this sort of thing than others. One of the places that we walked into was so rude about the whole thing. "We get hit for donations all the time and we are a no soliciting business and would appreciate it if people would stop asking for donations." Well Frenzi I was in your shop twice last week with my kids and even took my kids friends with us. As of today you lost a customer! We will be going to other fro-yo places from now on. My 8 year old daughter said it best when she said "why couldn't they have just said we are sorry, but we can't at this time?" read more

We stopped by this shop after dinner in town. The store was clean and cool. The help was attentive and efficient. The selection of yogurt was nice about 8 flavors with a variety of toppings. This was not the best yogurt shop I have been to, but it certainly did the trick. We enjoyed the quality of the yogurt and the convenience of the location. read more

Discovered today that Frenzi has DELICIOUS locally made soups in the fall/wintertime! My husband and I were out for a walk in downtown Gresham when I (at 10 weeks pregnant!) got a sudden desperate craving for soup. It seemed like a providential moment when we saw a sign outside of Frenzi advertising their locally made organic soups. I got a 12 oz cup of Chicken Noodle for only $3.50, and was so impressed with the quality of the soup. Clearly fresh and homemade, really rich and satisfying, full of vegetables and yummy chicken with a heavenly broth. Perfect for a hungry mama on a cold November day! Thanks Frenzi! read more

Gets my vote for best treat in Gresham. Always a variety of flavors and toppings, including sugar free, fat free, fresh fruit, and plenty of decedent toppings too, like hot fudge, cheesecake cubes + candy. It is always clean, and employees are friendly and accommodating. The recently added an outdoor patio for sunny day use. I have tried lots of yogurt shops all around the Pacific Northwest and this is by far my favorite one. read more
