Came here after having dinner with a friend nearby. The establishment was clean inside. Once we made our frozen yogurt and toppings creation, we went up to the counter to pay. The girl behind the counter was not friendly at all. She was all business. No smile, no greeting, no goodbye. I even tried to make a joke...nothing. They have decent frozen yogurt and dairy free choices...cake batter, vanilla, chocolate, coconut milk, and fruity options. Plenty of toppings to choose from too...cereal, m&m's, fruit, candy, chocolate sauce, caramel, whip cream, etc. This place is located in downtown Gresham. Only street parking available.

Frenzi's is spacious and has comfortable seating.

There was a lone employee quickly getting what appeared to be a large order together. More people came in behind me. Way in the back was an employee who looked as if she was moving ice cream cakes. She did not come out when the crowd grew. About 6+ minutes later, the front employee finished the large order of half gallons and quart containers with mix instead. Turns out the first guy at the counter hadn't even had his order taken. This large order belonged to a woman sitting down. I looked at all the people in front of me and decided I didn't want to stand for 15 minutes waiting. I left, warning a couple who were coming in. They left in less than a minute. The woman said the were going to Baskin Robbins. It's summer. Ice cream places have increased business. They should have more than one employee waiting on people. They should have the backroom employee wait on customers when there's a line or a large order. They lost 3 customers in the time I was there. Who knows how many they lose on a regular day? Then they'll say they can't afford to hire anyone or the location isn't profitable. If so, it isn't because of the ice cream.

They have handmade candies, Carmel corn and other sweets to bring home. On the display rounds you often find candy bars and packages that will bring back nostalgia. Besides these, a varitey of stuffies, stickers, games and cups. At the counter, they serve hand scooped ice cream and Boba drinks. ICandy truly has something for anyone with a sweet tooth.

I even asked the staff member if I had gotten the right drink. They said yes, but didn't ask if something was wrong, offer to remake it, or seem concerned that I clearly wasn't happy with it. It was pretty awkward since I had already paid for it and honestly thought it tasted gross. I also tried the haystack chocolate, which tasted old and stale. Overall, really disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend it.

Walking into the Soda Shop, it feels like a kid's daydream. There was candy and souvenirs everywhere, a big ice cream counter, and, of course, the soda shop. I noticed that they also sell food here-- it smelled amazing and I would definitely give it a try if I came again. Ordering was easy, and the young man behind the counter was really helpful-- I had never been to a soda hop before, so I had some questions about the options. He did not make me feel silly for having questions, and he did a good job of both training his coworker and being attentive to the line at the same time. I ordered a sugar free salted caramel soda (there were so many sugar free options!!!) It was delightful. I was a little apprehensive that it would actually taste like the flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. The price point is higher than you would pay for a normal soda, but I think that the novelty of the experience is worth it. We had a great time, and would definitely return (I want to see the upper level, too-- that was closed for a private event when we stopped in).

Thanks, or no thanks, to Lulu food truck being closed on 4th of July weekend :( we probably wouldn't have been in the mood for some Hawaiian food! Anyways, after eating at Gyro King (review pending) and downing a lovely lager from Wayfinder, we wanted dessert but still had that Hawaiian food craving in our heads. Thanks to roaming the area, and smack dab in the middle of it all was a little (somewhat) Hawaiian themed ice cream shop called Mochi Cones (: We enter this tiny shop, and the two ladies working there were welcoming and helpful. The served the kids their ice cream and loved it! But I wanted the Lillikoi cupcake ($4) and ube crinkle cookie ($2). And OH MY GEE!!! The ube crinkle cookie was perfect! Or shall I say soft "perfection". The ube flavor and sweetness was just right. My only failure was not taking a picture of it lol, sorry. As for the Lillikoi cupcake, I practically had the same reaction. Cravings cured! So, I inquired a bit about the pastries and asked where they came from. And what another great discovery! The baked goods came from North Plains. My eyes lit up as I've heard about this lady/owner baker before in that area. She had to be the one from ONAS Patisserie. I was in awww because she creates some delicious tasting malasadas. Look her up! You'll thank me!

The situation is like this, they really don't have their own parking at all. You have to pay for parking at the nearby park which is also where the bathrooms are. However, you can skip all this by going through the drive through, but it is a bit chaotic as you try to follow all the signs on how to get into the drive through, but be extra careful as kids and adults are paying attention and walk into the drive thru lane without looking. Since there is a wait for the drive through, they are smart to have QR codes to look at the menu while you are in line. They do have done picnic table setups for sitting down but also some tables inside Sugarpine. I think we waited about 10 min on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't so bad of a wait. They do warn you that they serve a 20% service fee on top of your order. However, I don't understand why. I got no table service. Basically a guy took my order and handed me my ice cream cup. I usually give 20% for real table service. Not sure if this is one of those charges they use to give the employees certain benefits? It was unclear to me. I'll be honest, I was very disappointed in the soft serve offerings. It was chocolate or vanilla or a swirl but there was a plant based offered that is a little more which is a bit more interesting. We got one chocolate vanilla swirl and one blueberry ube kids cup (5 oz) The had coconut vanilla as well, but I did not try it. I paid my just over $10 charge which wasn't too bad, but since there is no place to eat these I drove into downtown Troutdale to Harlow Park where it is free to park and plenty of covered tables. While I enjoyed my soft serve, it wasn't really anything special to me that I couldn't find in other Portland locations. In fact, I've had better. I do appreciate the family run business and the local kids that work there, I think it is a great thing, but honestly toss lace seems best for a stop on the way back from a day at the Gorge, else I won't go out of my way for it. Nothing wrong with it as I said, it tasted fine, but it did t blow my mind either. I did not get to try their BBQ offerings so I can't speak for that but it did small good. I know that have $10 offerings for dessert that have toppings and such but for me the base or foundation of it all is more important to me.
