What a great place! The food here is amazing and the portion size is great. My husband and I came here for a late lunch looking for some great Mexican food. We were both really happy with our choice coming here. The place is pretty big and has parking in the back but it's pretty limited parking. The second we walked in we could smell all the great food being cooked which is always a great sign. We ended up taking a seat outside. It was so hard to choose what to order off of the menu there really are so many great options on this menu. The waitress was friendly and helpful giving us some recommendations. I am visiting plainfeild and i was happy to find a little mexican american spot. The first thing i noticed here was the service. I have had rude people ever since i got here but not at Freppe's they were polite on the phone when i called in my order and even friendlier when i walked in to pick it up. The portion size was huge, 3 tacos with rice and beans sour cream (a huge dollop) and salsa. I could choose from 4 meats and mix and match. It was definitely american style, but very satisfying. The best thing about NJ is the BYOB options in town. That said you can't go wrong with Freppes. Authentic Mexican food with a good presentation, great service and an amazing atmosphere. My family and I have been coming to Freppe's since it opened and are huge fans.The food is incredible, the staff is awesome, and the portions are huge! It is always clean and festive. I love the music playing in the background, it gives the place such a happy feel. We have had numerous birthday parties in the upstairs party room because it is always a great experience. Recently, we had an ESPN viewing party at Freppe's for my sister Laurie Hernandez, a gymnast in the 2016 Olympic games. As soon as my boyfriend and I walked in we were greeted very nicely by a few of the staff. We were seated and placed the bottle of wine we brought on our table. We split the chipotle pineapple wings for our appetizer. I ordered Mexican shrimp cocktail for my entree (because I wasn't too hungry). My boyfriend ordered chicken chimichanga. First off, everything was super FRESH, and steaming hot! The wings were incredible! They were loaded with this amazing spicy (with a hint of sweetness) sauce. I could not get enough of the sauce and used it to dip my chips in after we finished the wings. My Mexican shrimp cocktail was served in a wine glass, which looked small, but I was completely full after only getting half way through (got the other half wrapped up). It was so fresh and reminded me of ceviche. So delicious! My boyfriends chimichanga looked/tasted amazing!! He was VERY satisfied with it especially because it was loaded with chicken and not rice, like some places do. Bottom line, all the food was seasoned perfectly, was extremely fresh, and definitely left me wanting more. Our waiter was so nice I couldn't believe it! He was so exited about everything we ordered, and when he saw how much we liked the food it only made him happier! I was able to laugh out loud, and take pictures of my food without feeling foolish. At the end of the meal the atmosphere made perfect sense. This place is super laid back, with amazing food, period. No need to overlook or look into anything when coming here. I decided to try out some of the appetizers for my first time, so I ordered the empanadas and the pineapple chipotle wings that I saw some great reviews on here for. The wings were cooked nicely with the meat falling right off the bone. The sauce was good, although I was hoping for some more spice on the wings. The empanadas were very good and had a great flavor to them. The place has what seems to be a great atmosphere for a group of friends to kick back some tequila shots. Ordered take out for five. Tortillas for fajitas weren't put in our bag so we had to send someone back but whatever. The food all looked great, but the fajitas had broccoli, carrots and zucchini in the mix. It looked more like Chinese stir fry. The steak was good though. Chorizo in my chimichanga was a little dry but I enjoyed my meal (chimichanga and tamale combo) otherwise. Everyone (save the person who ordered the bizarre fajitas) was generally satisfied. However, shortly after everyone was finished, 3 out of 5 of us noticed mild gastrointestinal discomfort.
