    Pepperoni and margherita

Honestly the 20 min wait for a slice of fresh, piping hot pizza straight from the oven was so worth it. We got the pepperoni and margherita slice. Also highly recommend adding more of their garlic oil on top - it's SO good. Will definitely be coming back again soon. They offer a cash discount as well - $5 for a such a large since is also insane value.

On a windy corner in December, I strolled into a small pizza shop. American football was on the T.V. and every seat was taken. An older Asian man is emptying out the garbage, and students near the end of finals are taking a break. The cooks constantly come from the kitchen with food. Meanwhile the counter man deftly removes a perfectly baked pizza or warms up a slice for the new customer. The door continually opens and sends in cold air, but the warmth of the pizza and counter people make up for it. This is it. This is NYC pizza, but elevated, due to the basil oil. This is perfect thin crust Margherita. This is the pizza place you must visit in Toronto. I also ordered the penne arrabbiata, which was perfectly balanced in spices. They give you complementary garlic bread, also good. Prices are reasonable and the quality is excellent. Run, don't walk here.

A pizza institution in the city. This old school spot has huge slices at good prices. Got margherita and pepperoni slices, and both had perfectly charred crusts, beautifully stringy cheese, and generous toppings. Slight edge to the margherita because of how tastily garlicky it was.

Affordable, delicious, fresh and a must get! This has been trending all over social media so of course had to check it out for myself. Their pizzas are made fresh in house and super affordable. The best part? Their complimentary garlic scallion oil that you can brush onto your slice of pizza. It's $5 a slice if paid with cash and $5.65 if paid with card. Tried both the pepperoni and margherita slice, both were fresh, crispy. cheesy and delicious. The pizza was cooked perfectly and made me want more as I was eating it. This spot deserves all the hype, especially with it's price point and slice size!

This place is so good. This place has amazing pizza for amazing prices. I've ordered their full pies multiple times before and recently had their individual slices. Every single time, you can tell how good these folks are at making a memorable pizza. The crust is crispy, sharing similarities with NY-style pizza, as well as mouth watering garlic/basil butter on top. The workers are quick, reliable, and kind. I wish I can eat this every day!! By the way, 2 MASSIVE slices and 2 drinks for 13 CAD? Good stuff, Fresca.

I've been coming to Fresca since I was an elementary school student. The quality hasn't changed at all. I ordered my go to, the margherita slice and it was 5$ if paid by cash. Although I skipped it this time because I was on a diet, make sure you get the complimentary garlic oil. The seating is very limited and there is usually a line. This is one of my favorite pizza spots in Toronto and you really cannot go wrong with it.

My friends brought some pizza over for our games night, and it was pretty good. They ordered two pizzas, and it took about 30 minutes to be ready. Apparently, these pizzas have a Vietnamese twist? I'm not exactly sure what the twist is... maybe it's the green sauce they let customers drizzle on top? This place is usually quite busy, with lineups outside the door. Overall, I thought the pizza was good (that's saying a lot because I'm usually not a pizza person). We had to pop it in the oven to warm it up a bit, but not bad if you enjoy pizzas with a thin crust. It's not very cheesy, though, so if you're after a big cheese pull, you might want to add more cheese.

Freaca Pizza feels like it's been around forever--in the best way. The team has the right energy, working together like they actually care. Service is straight to the point, with a no-nonsense, broey vibe. The pizza? Thin, simple, and solid. No fancy cheese or toppings, just basic and good.

Line up was crazy long. Pizza was thin and crispy and overall good but there was an overload of pepperonis. I personally don't like it with too much pepperonis but the pizza was covered fully which made it too salty. For the wait time, I don't think it's that worth it. ALSOO the server who handles the cash register takes the money, and then touches the dough and toppings with his hands without washing or putting on gloves. Area could be a little cleaner IMO. Tables are dirty after customers leave there are sauce and crumbs along the counter. Service was slow and took so long. Lineup was long, and to wait for the pizza, it took quite a long time as well.

I just dropped in for the $5 slice of pizza. The slices were definitely a good size for the value in this current economy, but it just wasn't the best pizza I have ever had like some people have claimed. It had a good flavor, but the crust could use some work. The shop is very small, but there are some seats to dine in, which we did, and service was quick and effective. We needed to use the restroom but the long dark hallway was kind of scary so we opted to hold it and find another place to go.

I love their pepperoni slices and the green garlic oil drizzled on top is a must! It makes it extra delicious and adds a beautiful colour and texture. Always a line up in this tiny place but service is fast and friendly. Slice is $5 if paid in cash I usually sit in front window area despite it being cramped. This place is definitely a Toronto institution. Highly recommend!

This is a family restaurant and the most amazing part is their delicious Italian food is made by a non-Italian family! They speak a little English, but they're smart enough to write down your order and show it to you to make sure they get it right! They have a few tables for dine-in, but most of their customers order for takeout. There's also washroom downstairs if you're dining in. Their pizza tastes amazing and if you want to be able to cherish the taste, you need to wait a bit for it to get cold, since it's very hot right out of oven. The prices are really good, so next time I visit, I'll make sure I order extra for takeout!

I had a slice of pepperoni pizza for lunch Tuesday at Fresca Pizza & Pasta. It was a busy spot! I got here just as the pepperoni pizza came out of the oven so my slice was fresh and hot. And it was a tasty slice! Yum!

I thought it was overhyped, but my friend and I decided to check it out and we were quite satisfied with what we got. One thing to note for Cacio e Pepe is that it was a heavier slice. I loved the cheese but I think it's one of those pizza where I can't have a lot, or I have to really be in the mood for. Tip: During busy hours/seasons, order a whole pizza ahead of time to skip the line unless you want to try different slices at once.

I mean I'm sure we've all seen those line ups that wrapped around the block on social media. Apparently BTS recently came here for the pizzas when they were on tour. Anyways, I would never wait hours in line for pizza lol. we were just around the area and luckily the line was unusually short so I immediately found nearby parking (which was quite difficult by the way, I'm pretty sure I got the last spot) and jumped in line. We got the vodka, cacio E pepe, and their capicola & pineapple slices. All three slices had such an amazing crust. It was thin and crispy with the perfect amount of char and a nice chew to it. The Vodka sauce was so rich, creamy and velvety. It was my favorite slice and I can see why it is their most popular as well. The cacio e pepe had a sharp, savory, and creamy cheese flavor. It was great as well. The one we didn't like as much was their Pineapple. I mean the crust was still great but there was like no pineapples lol. Is it the best pizza in Toronto ? Honestly I don't know but it definitely isn't worth the line up to me. It is great pizza though but I'm not sure if I would ever come back cause of long lines and I don't live around the area. But if I ever do, I would love to try their Burrata Marinara and Mushroom Bianco. I also tried their chips that they collaborated with Miss Vickie's and the chips DO NOT do their Vodka slices justice. the chips were very mediocre.

It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
