    Lunch deal!

I had no idea this place even existed! It's a chain from Niagara?! Thin crust pizza cooked in a wood burning oven. Delicious! There are several pizzas to choose from, or you can create your own with a good variety of toppings. Fast and fresh. Tirth and his team made sure my order was just right. Excellent service. Spacious interior with seating both inside and out. Even though I didn't get to try their pasta, I'd definitely recommend this place for pizza in the University and Front Street area. It's so close to Union Station making it really convenient for downtown office workers, tourists, those attending concerts or sporting events, and of course condo dwellers alike!

    Classic penne with meatballs

DoughBox just opened up in the heart of the financial district and specializes in pizza and pasta. They use a wood fired oven, and you can see and smell the wood all over the store - it was really unique and the woody aromas certainly hit my nose in the right spots. For my first visit, I was craving pasta and tried their classic penne with meatballs and it hit the spot - it was made to order so the pasta was perfectly cooked, the meatballs were juicy, and the sauce was the right amount of tang and sweet. Overall a great dish. For extra you can get their garlic bread which is basically half a pizza and made to order. Overall I enjoyed the freshness and quality of the ingredients, and I'm looking forward to coming back - I'm sure this will be a lunch staple in the neighbourhood!

Pizza was fantastic. Service was also very courteous and friendly. Was also kinda cool hearing staff chat in French lol! At least that's what I figured it was, because you never hear that in Iowa. Great experience!

    Wild pepperoni pizza was delicious.

We didn't know what to eat and Kiran helped us above our expectations. The pizza is very juicy, tasty and awesome. The dough is very thin and delicious. I wish I could live close to be there every week.

Just had a simple pepperoni pizza for lunch. Excellent. Crispy, thin crust precisely as I like it. I'll be back for sure.

Pizza is great, probably one of the best we had. It has a wooden flavor to it which makes it very tasty.

Good food in very simple environment. It appears they do a large takeout business but they have a few tables

The I Heart Butter Tart Concrete ($6.49) that I ordered was a little too much for myself. I did decide to go through and finish the ice cream / sundae just so I don't have anything to go. The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

I couldn't let the opportunity pass. The dining space? Bright, clean, inviting. Modern but casual. Off to a genuinely good start. And then... things went south. I ordered the peri-peri chicken with two sides. The wait was excruciating. Not just long--confusing. Every single person who ordered after me was eating while I sat there wondering if my ticket got lost in another country. When the chicken finally arrived, I was stunned--and not in a good way. Easily the smallest leg/thigh combo I've ever seen. Yes, I'm used to USA-sized, GMO-filled chickens, but I've eaten plenty overseas. This wasn't "European portioning." This was kiddie-sized. Flavor? Underwhelming. Forgettable. Nothing that made me pause, nothing that lingered. For a place built on peri-peri heat and personality, this was shockingly flat. I can get chicken with more punch at my local Grocery & Go. The mac and cheese had decent texture--the breadcrumbs did their job--but flavor-wise? Completely bland. Zero soul. The fries? Although well seasoned, we're like warm. Overhyped things rarely deliver, and Nando's sadly fits the bill. Massive disappointment is the phrase that keeps coming to mind

The reason they have "express" in their store name is that the food is usually ready within 2 mins. During busy times, you have to wait until they get to your order. There is a little window where they place food that is ready, and a server brings them to your table (if you are dining in). We ordered the following: A1: Spring Roll 4 pcs ($11.99). A2: Shrimp Fresh Roll 4 pcs ($11.99). M1: Assorted Thap Cam Banh Mi ($8.99). P1: Special Beef Noodle Soup/Pho ($17.99). C2: Grilled Chicken and Fried Egg on Broken Rice ($15.99). V1: Grilled Pork & Spring Rolls with Vermicelli ($18.99). D1: Passion-Mango Green Tea ($4.99). D4: Ice Coffee with Condensed Milk ($4.99). D5: Pop x 2 ($1.99 x 2). The customer service is good. They forgot to tell us that extra condiments can be found on a counter near the washroom. There is plenty of indoor tables, most of them are for two people. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-230

The soup didn't taste watered down. All in all a great addition. Place will do well if it maintains its standard. Only time will tell!
