Came here for a book club meeting and shared the margarita pizza (fior di latte, san marzano tomato, parmigiano, fresh basil) and their prosciutto & arugula pizza (san marzano tomato, fior di latte, fresh basil, arugula, parma prosciutto, parmigiano-reggiano). The pizza crust itself was a bit hard and overcooked and slightly burnt at the bottom. I think my preference over the two was the margarita. I put on the chili oil and chili flakes but still felt there wasn't that much flavour on either pizzas. We also shared the tiramisu and that was tasty! Service was excellent and the restaurant was really clean. Unsure if I would come back for their pizza but it was a good atmosphere! read more

Dined in on a Thursday at lunch with a colleague of mine. We were able to get a seat pretty quickly even though it was pretty busy. I got a margherita pizza and it was delicious! The crust had that perfectly spotted browning and had a satisfying chew to it. The pizza was also on a floppier side, which I love. It tasted great, especially with some chili oil that they have on the table. The service was pretty mediocre, unfortunately. It took a while for our server to get to us and he seemed a bit checked out. Getting the bill at the end of the meal was also a bit of a struggle. I don't necessarily blame him but it definitely was not ideal for a work lunch. Overall, the pizza was fantastic but a bit slow for a work lunch. Came on a Sunday and noon and the place was empty. We got seated quickly. The menu had quite a few pizzas with a few New York style pizzas as well. They also have some pasta dishes. Our pizzas were 12" 4 slices and came piping hot. I really enjoyed the soft dough interior and the toppings (eggplant for me and lemon ricotta for my friend). Came here for lunch. I ordered a 16-inch pepperoni, which is unnecessarily large for people like me who eat unnecessary amounts of pizza in one shot. Well, I could not finish it in one shot. 12 inch goes for $20, 16 inch goes for $34. Honestly the pricing didn't seem to make sense to me but, but taking the area of a 6-inch radius using formula PI*r^2 you get 113.04 while the 8-inch radius you get 200.96 which means the 12-inch is 56% the size of the 16-inch, and 56% of $34 = $19 so actually the price does make sense. We came for a work lunch and ordered meatballs, Calamari, duck confit, and Hawaiian pizza. The antipasti/starters were good, the calamari was really crispy, but the Hawaiian pizza was outstanding! The Hawaiian pizza had an light spice kick, but the hot maple drizzle really was the icing on the cake. What really intrigued us was the duck confit pizza, however it was very disappointing. I heard that the original owners run this location & the one at Sheppard is a franchisee. We came here for a team lunch so we ordered appetizers like calamari, foccacia & arancini. I tried the calamari & foccacia & they were both delicious. I couldn't eat the arancini because of the cheese (I'm dairy intolerant). For the main I was hoping to have the beef rigatoni but it has cheese in the dish & a rose sauce. They wouldn't modify it for me. So I opted for a marinara pizza with mushrooms, onions & sausage. It was good! A bit messy to eat due to lack of cheese but still good. I still think Sip wine bar has the best pizza though. Some of my work colleagues had the duck confit pizza & they said it was delicious. I got full on the appetizers & two slices of pizza so I didn't have any dessert. Neither did anyone else at the table. We had a couple of ladies as our waitstaff & they were great. We got to order quickly, the appetizers & mains came out pretty quickly as well. The service was smooth. I didn't give them 5 stars though because they wouldn't modify for food allergies/ intolerances. Most places will modify for allergies these days. Ambiance is good. We were seated inside at a high top table. The back is part of their banquette seating with leather cushions. High top chairs are steel. The space is actually more narrow than wide. Washrooms are near the back of the restaurant. There are 4 single washrooms that are all gender. They also have a patio at the side of the restaurant with umbrellas for shade. read more

This is my go to pizza spot when I'm working downtown at the office to bring clients and colleagues for a great slice! The salads are pretty amazing too. I've had the arugula and the kale and I think I prefer the kale. My favourite pizza is the house made sausage white pizza as it never disappoints. Paired with a healthy dose of chilli oil, it's perfection. I went with my colleagues yesterday and they had the funghi and the special of the day, a truffle pizza. Love how they can make it gluten free and how easily you can make reservations online! Service is generally pleasant but nothing outstanding. I go here more for the food than anything. It can get a little loud with paramedics, fire trucks and police passing through a nearby busy street. Ambiance overall was great with friendly service. There's not much I can say. The pizza here is not your typical pizza, not even close. Hard to describe if you've never been to Italy and had a really good pizza made in a proper stone over with a homemade sauce. The simplest pizza in their menu (margarita) is to die for. I always get the sausage one. My husband loves the spicy one with maple glaze. Service could be a little better on a busy night, but that's normal in this area. We avoid weekends. Give it a try but please don't compare this to a Pizza Hut or pizza pizza. It's on a different level altogether. It's definitely a foodie's pizza spot. I had the pizza with prosciutto & arugula. It was delicious...just like the one I had in Florence. My Aperol Spritz wasn't that good. Too much Aperol, plus, in Italy a sprig of an herb is placed in the drink along with a slice of orange. I sat outside. I was the only one on the patio. I think this is a decent place for the price, there are many chains around she could expect very similar food at each of the places. I went with an italian person and they enjoyed it which is always a good sign for a pizzeria spot. They have an expensive option of pizza with white and red sauces. They have a duck confit pizza with white sauce, that is a really interesting menu item that I think it's unique and worth trying. The duck with a little bit of a cold and dry but there was a decent amount of meat on it for the ~$20 price. The tiramisu dessert was also quite large and is easily shareable. Came here on a rainy evening looking for a cozy booth and some pizza and luckily they had just that. The service here is wonderful and friendly; the hostess happily made accommodations for us on a busy night and the staff were very friendly as well. The ambience was nice too, very calm with solid decor which I liked, and I bet they get tons of natural light during the day time. The food was solid but average, here's the rundown: - Insalate Caesar: solid salad, with kale, cabbage, and crispy prosciutto, and the right amount of dressing - Vegetariana Pizza: didnt love this one but that may have been a poor choice on our end - when you get raw vegetables on pizza, all the water comes out which leaves you with a slightly soggy pizza and watery sauce. I probably wouldn't order this pizza again, unless the veggies were pre-cooked. They have a nice chili oil to top your pizza with which gave it a nice little spice. Overall, I'd say the place has potential but the food felt just average to me - it lacked the punch I was expecting from Libretto, having been to other locations years ago and really enjoying it. It's a great spot for a lunch or a casual / quick dinner, but not sure I'd go out of my way for it. My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I was quite happy with my experience here overall. I really enjoyed the all the pizza we ordered! We arrived on a weeknight and we were quite hungry, so we went right into the pizza. We ordered the diavola and the house made sausage pizzas. The diavola was soo yummy, definitely had a hint of spice which I loved, with the spicy salami as well as the spicy crema drizzle. I also loved the salty olives on it. The housemade sausage pizza was delicious as well! It was a white pizza and I loved the flavor of the fennel sausage with the sweetness from the caramelized onions. Came here for a friend's birthday - while the food itself was mediocre (pizza was good, but not amazing or memorable), the service was pretty decent. When we asked for a dessert with candles to celebrate, the waitress and manager gladly accommodated - and didn't even charge us for the dessert! They were also quite efficient and friendly in serving our massive table of 11 members. I ordered a simple pizza, the margherita, but substituted their vegan cheese made with soy for an additional $3. The pizza was good - there was lots of leoparding, but my crust was slightly burnt in some areas (as were other's pizzas). I liked that the crust was fairly thin and crispy, but the crust still had some bite - I loved the air bubbles! The vegan cheese was okay; because it was made with soy, I found it to be on the sweet side. The lack of elasticity, however, was to be expected. That said, my friend really enjoyed her gluten- and dairy-free choice (she got the anchovy with gluten-free crust and vegan cheese), saying it was one of the better alternative pizzas she's had. I also sampled two slices of two different pizzas - the house-made sausage and the melanzane. I was debating ordering the melanzane at first, and regret not doing so! The eggplant was so good, and the addition of garlic, oregano, and thyme really helped accentuate the flavours. The house-made sausage (white pizza) was less impressive, although I did like the spicy kick. Their sfingi (Italian doughnut holes) came piping hot and so unbelievably soft! It was so delicious, and not terribly soft (the outside had powdered sugar). Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable meal with great company and good food. read more

When we were in Rome last summer, we had some of the best pizza I've ever had. This place was also incrediblel my son said it reminded him of the pizza in Rome! We ordered the Arancini, a delectable deep-fried rice and cheese ball served with stewed tomato sauce. Then we ordered two pizzas - a Margherita and a Prosciutto. They both were fantastic! My favorite was the Prosciutto because it was topped with arugula, I love the spice of arugula. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was great. Wow, what a surprise of a pizza place. From the outside it seems a bit unassuming, but the decor and ambiance inside was super cute. I couldn't stop talking about the decor to be honest - i love the light color trendy wood with the modern red lampshades - it all just worked so well together. So to start, they don't take reservations but I was with a group of 6 and I called about 15 minutes before hand and the host saved a table for us, which was super thoughtful as we were traveling for work and very hungry after a long day. The service here was phenomenal. I was shocked with the amount of wait staff they had. I don't think I ever saw the same person more than once (Besides our main server). The drinks were brought out so quick, always had water refills and the food came out in a very timely manner. I started with the calamari which had a delicious sauce and I got the the sausage pizza (the one with the complicated name that I could not even begin to pronounce). I still cannot get over how friendly and fast the service was. BUT the star of the show for me was the amazing chili oil, it seemed to just be a grade-a olive oil infused with chili's but holy cow I was soaking it up with my pizza. I may have had dream about it. It also had good amounts of basil on it (some places really skimp). It's cut into quarters so easy to share with your friends. It also stands up to next day leftovers :) They have a good selection of different pizzas - so you will definitely find something here to eat. This is one of those moments when the pizza tastes just as amazing as it looks like on the photos! I found Pizzeria Libretto's page on Instagram and knew that I had to try their Neapolitan-style pizza right away. I ordered delivery and went with their Funghi Pizza, a white pizza with mushrooms - which was perfect! It was delicious and super filling (I would, however, ask for no thyme because it was a bit overwhelming). Their Margherita is also great but I preferred the Funghi. Besides Neopolitan pizza, they also make New York and Sicilian style pizzas, salads and pasta.
