Came here very early for Mother's Day, we were met with an attitude because we didn't have reservations, when we have come in the past never had to make them before so didn't dawn on us. We were seated, reluctantly. Kind of wish they had just turned us away. So we sat. As we sat my husband & son noticed small ants crawling up & down the wall by the straws & other things. My husband asked if we could be seated elsewhere due to the ants crawling all over the place. The waitress immediately started throwing/slamming things complaining that other people were coming in. While I completely understand unfortunately the ants are out of our control since I dont own or operate this restaurant. Absolutely ridiculous. Happy Mother's day to me. The food was very good, which makes this disappointing to write, but our service experience was concerning enough that I feel it should be shared. Our waitress appeared visibly overwhelmed and frustrated throughout the meal. There were multiple mistakes with our order, forgotten items, and repeated requests for basic things. What was most upsetting was her behavior at our table. When we asked for ketchup, she aggressively slammed the bottle down directly in front of my 4 year old child's face. The interaction felt hostile and completely inappropriate, especially in front of a young child. I understand restaurants can be busy and stressful, and occasional mistakes happen, but this went beyond poor service and created a very uncomfortable experience for our family. Oh. My. God. So good! Just had my first visit to FresCafe for takeout. I had the Westside breakfast sandwich (sans bacon) and an Earl Grey hot tea. It was a religious experience. First the sandwich. Messy as hell, but such a good, delicious mess. The tomatoes in particular we perfect, not the mushy bland mess you sometimes find on sandwiches this time of year in the Northeast. The avocado was fresh, and the sunny side up egg was perfect. What's more, the brioche bun held up extremely well on the car ride home despite the egg yolk at the bottom of the container. The next noteworthy item was the service. The young lady who took my order was so polite and friendly. She thoughtfully brought my tea outside to me as I waited outside with my older Labrador Retriever, telling me she thought it would help me "keep warm." She asked about my dog, told me about her own dogs and could not have been more personable. Very thoughtful. When my sandwich was ready she brought it out and wished my dog and I a good day. From what I saw of the inside, it is a very simple, tasteful decor. The space is small, but the size matches the charm and inviting vibe. The entire dining area is window lined with views of the brick walkways and nearby shops. The place oozes understated charm. Go for the food. Go for the good customer service. Most importantly, go. Stopped in here during the Apple Festival, and they seemed a bit overwhelmed and frazzled. I'm sure the service would be better on another day. Food-wise, not bad. The onion rings were absolutely delicious, but for $6, receiving only 5 rings and none of the side sauce that was supposed to be served with it, especially when sharing, was ridiculous. They were very crisp and not greasy and excellent, but more than $1 an onion ring, I would not order again. The grilled cheese and butternut squash soup had the Apple theme, so I ordered it (minus the prosciutto). It was very good, though the soup lacked flavor and was just OK. My friend disliked the soup so much that they replaced it for her, and she got sweet potato fries as her side instead. We waited a very long time for those, but they were absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly crisp, tasty and the best thing we had. Lunch for two of us split in half was $27 apiece, including tax and tip. Okay, let's talk about Terrance. The food, drinks, and atmosphere is great abs I'll get to those, but Terrance I'd the GOAT. We love him. He was so kind, warm, friendly - what you think of when you hear the phrase "service with a smile". You can tell it's a pleasure for him to serve you and there's no better experience than that as a customer. My daughter was being extremely fussy with her food (because, toddlers), and Terrance very generously offered strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream to see if that would work. Of course it did. I don't know how, but it essentially served as an amuse bouche because immediately after that, she ate her food. Thank the lord for Terrance. He also gave her coloring pages to entertain her while we waited. Seriously an angel. Would def go back for the food, but even more so to see Terrance. We both got the south Philly sandwiches, pretzel sticks, and chicken fingers - all of which were bomb. They made possibly the best Arnold Palmer I've ever had (I've had many and you can definitely botch them), in addition to a coffee drink which I can't remember the name of - just that it had toffee flavor in it. Highly recommend the coffee drinks as well. I would dieeee if they ended up serving cocktails here because if the non-alcoholic drinks taste as good as they do, imagine what they can do with cocktails. I came here for brunch with some of my friends. It's a small little shop but the seating area is cute (feels like greenhouse vibes)! The servers here were soo friendly and the food came really quick. I got the Avocado Toast. This is one of the best ones I've had. The addition of the crumbled bacon was not only delicious, but added a wonderful crisp twist to the usual avocado toast. Small, cute hidden place in peddlers village! There isn't much seating but you can be on a waitlist that moves fast. Decor is cute and staff is nice and funny! The food is incredible. The chicken pesto panini is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my entire life, it's priced really well and it's pretty filling. The overall aesthetic of the cafe is incredible. It has a simple but beautiful layout and design. It feels very cozy and the vibes are just great. The staff are incredible. I've been here twice and my experience with them has been outstanding. Everyone has been super friendly. Terrance is one of a kind! He is a gem of a human being and is the perfect embodiment of excellent customer service. He remembers faces and conversations, he's incredibly kind and funny, and he does his job with excellence. He has a genuineness that you can't replace, I can't sing Terrance's praises enough! The best way I can describe this establishment as a 22 year old is "it's fire". Fres is just undoubtedly fire. Sadly there are few redeeming qualities of this place. I wanted to like it because it's in a cute setting in peddlers village, but no. The breakfast potatoes aren't fresh, they're deep fried when everyone knows pan fried is superior. The quiche was somehow over cooked and undercooked at the same time. The pastry was thick and doughy and not at all tasty or flakey like it should be. Claimed to have Gruyère in it but I saw no evidence of cheese it was 80% spinach, barely even egg filling! The Cypress sandwich was average, everything had too much rosemary and the ciabatta was a sad excuse for ciabatta. Even the cappuccinos left a-lot to be desired (tasted like straight milk no espresso) our servers were excellent and very kind so it's no fault of their own this is getting 2 stars, I'd give them 5. Worst experience of my life. Four adult adults and two small children were told that the wait time would be 90 minutes and maybe shorter. I checked in after 50 minutes and was told oh no, it will be the full 90 minutes. I went back at 90 minutes and was told they could never accommodate our party. Somehow this seems incredibly unfair to keep four adults and two small children waiting an hour and a half for a meal and then to be told that there would be no meal to be had. We had breakfast here while on a Christmas vacation to Peddlers Village. FresCafe was WONDERFUL! From the moment we walked up we were greeted with such nice smiles. We went with our 8 month old daughter and the waitress could not have been nicer. She even asked to hold our daughter for us while we ate. I highly recommend this place. Had a delicious breakfast/lunch here. The BLT was exactly what it should be-crisp bacon, fresh tomato, crunchy lettuce and Mayo on 9grain bread that was toasted. It came with a little side salad that was perfectly dressed. The lavender lemonade was excellent as well. So refreshing! We stopped here on a whim. It's a cute but small place. They do offer outdoor seating. It does get very loud inside due to the small size. The waiter was very nice & friendly. Unfortunately they were short staffed but we were in no rush. The food was good. But I think it's a little over priced. I had a salad & added chicken to it, which made it a $22 salad. The salad was good but not $22 good. We also ordered a flavored tea, it was very watered down & couldn't taste much. FresCafe Food Company is a new Lahaska breakfast/brunch/lunch cottage in the Earl's Restaurant complex. It is in Nancy's old place, but with fresh coat of paint to bring out the country shine. It is a little hard to find, but if you use Earl's as a guide you will find it by parking there and walking into the courtyard. First you will see the blue umbrella outdoor seating, with the main doors to FresCafe just beyond. Like most of Lahaska, it is an attractive countrified touristy house made to appear 18th Century village, with plenty of large trees, exposed beams, period artistry and wagonloads of charm. It is well done, and somewhat representative of the history of the area. Big windows and low ceilings with views of brick and aged board contributing to the comfortable atmosphere. Coming midweek avoids the crowds and allows for a leisurely morning cuppa joe and traditional repast. Service was attentive and friendly, but left me alone except to ask if I wanted more coffee or needed anything. Just the way I wanted it. The Brioche French Toast was fine, topped with sliced straw and blueberries. A bit more vanilla extract in the egg mix would have enhanced the flavor, and an option for real maple syrup would have taken the dish to another level altogether. For a farm to table kind of place that would have been a strong move. Still, the coffee was decent and the overall experience quite positive. There is a premium paid at all Lahaska establishments and FresCafe is no different. Still, the quality/price proposition is not out of line with the rest of town, and if you like these type of destinations, you will be pleased with this one. read more

We waited over 45 minutes for a lunch order on September 14th. I know it was a busy day but we were seated right outside the kitchen door and could watch the cooks doing absolutely nothing for at least half an hour. Other customers waited over an hour for their orders. The menu consists of sandwiches and salads. It seemed like noone was in charge at this place to make sure that the orders were being made in a timely manner. Some customers waited so long that they got up and left without eating at all.
