Came here for the first time today while visiting with family. Had the chicken and corn chowder, which was phenomenal, as well as a cider mimosa. I appreciate that the cider is local and that they have it on their menu even though it's "out of season ". We also started with the apple and ricotta flatbread with a hot honey. Absolutely delicious would recommend it! It was very spacious, and there was live music. The only downside is that the restrooms are located upstairs, I'm not sure if there were any accommodations within the building to make it handicap accessible, but I know that could be difficult for some people!

The most wonderful time of the year will be feel incomplete without a visit to Peddlers village and grabbing a holiday drink at Cock 'n Bull. Look, getting reservations during peak holiday season is almost impossible unless you are a great planner. Early walk-ins is what I'd recommend and we got lucky this time to grab a bar seat at this iconic restaurant. Daisy, our server, was overwhelmed with the orders on Sat evening, but that didn't stop her from providing us amazing service. Bar atmoshphere was festive, very cozy set up, an warm and welcoming staff, with added warmth thanks to the amazing fireplace! We just got drinks and apps which included a trio of dip. The roasted onion dip stood out and was polished first! Service was top notch, thanks to Daisy. Noise levels on the average end. We wanted a memorable trip, and we got one! No complaints!

Very cool historic style restaurant in peddlers village. As soon as you walk in there is a nice bar with a woodburning fireplace. They have a great bar menu and pour a proper Guinness. We sat in the main dining room with a party of 12, including 4 kids. Waitress was great and got the kids food out fast. I must say the kids chicken fingers were good lol. I got the French onion soup and chicken pot pie. Both were very good and would recommend. Definitely recommend if your in the area.

The 2 stars were for our amazing server Melissa. She was great and so attentive! We wanted to give 5 but couldn't because the food was so inedible. The ambiance was very traditional of a pub style restaurant. If you're popping in for a glass of wine then this place is fine but avoid the food. Everything we ordered was over cooked and under seasoned. The chicken pot pie lacked so much flavor. The chicken was dry and the veggies were just reheated frozen bagged veggies. We also ordered the chicken schnitzel which was just a large, overcooked flavorless chicken nugget. The smashed potatoes were very dry as well and room temp. We ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and it tasted stale like it had been sitting in the fridge for a week. Overall, I'd say come to this place for a predinner drink and avoid the food.

When the lunch hour is a rush you want to manage to snag a couple bar seats like we did. In the front next to the fire place is one of the best spots we think. The bartender was in a rush but managed to keep everyone checked on. My Dutch burger was done medium rare like I love it with a great smoky taste from the gouda. My fiancés chicken sandwich has a very flaky crispy chicken breast with tons of juiciness. Everything was great per usual and towards the end of the meal the lunch rush was over.

My husband and I had a chance dinner here one night because it was one of few restaurants that had seats available on a busy tourist night. Inside, the restaurant is divided into two parts. One side has the bar, fireplace, and a lodge-like feel. The other side (which I only happened to pass by while wandering around in search of the restrooms) has a more modern feel. We sat in the lodge-y space and pulled up to the bar, where they serve the full menu (a blessing on those nights when there's an hour-long wait for tables and you just want food). The food was all right. I ordered the Palermo rigatoni, with grilled chicken, pasta ,and 3-hour onions in a blush sauce. What sounded impressive on the menu turned out to be a simple chicken vodka pasta dish, with a slightly disappointing serving size (especially for the cost). On the other hand, my husband went with a standard seeming order of a burger and fries (or a 'Bull Burger,' as they call it here). With a distinctive charred flavor, a seeded bun, and well-crisped fries, I fell in love with the bites I stole from his plate and secretly wished I'd ordered it instead. Service was great. The bartender that served us was an absolute machine - endlessly churning out drinks, taking orders, and passing plates - all with a friendly smile.

This was a rustic and colonial atmosphere. There was a bar area with a large fireplace and a large dining area too. The bar area was a first-come, first-serve basis, which helped us given how many people were there and waiting. The service was phenomenal, as our server was also the bartender for the entire restaurant. He also waited on all the other tables in the bar area. He did an unreal job, and we had no issues. The menu had modern American fare along with seasonal specials. I had the Lancaster pastrami sandwich ($15). It was house-smoked pastrami, beer-braised sauerkraut, dijonnaise, and Swiss cheese on toasted rye with a side of fries. This was well done. The bread-to-filling ratio was ideal, while the pastrami was very tender and flavorful. The key to the sandwich was the sauerkraut. It was different from other sauerkraut I have tried, which I really enjoyed. The beer braise seemed to do the trick. The fries came out hot and crispy. There could have been a tad more salt or seasoning, but it was not a huge deal. I also tried the chicken salad sandwich that came on a brioche bun with a side of chips. This was solid. There was a good amount of filling with plenty of chicken pieces. I thought the brioche was just a little too much bread. I also had a sampling of French onion soup. I am not a big fan, but it was not bad. Will I go back? Definitely.

Inside kind of feels like a farmhouse vibe with the browns and greens. The bar downstairs with the more formal seating upstairs is pretty cool. Service was good, waitress was warm and friendly; took our order timely, and wait times weren't overly long. My appetizer was forgotten at first but it was brought out a little after the meals were. I ordered the grouper finger appetizer and red snapper Provençal, and wifey had the filet mignon with sweet potato fries. My grouper fingers were light and fluffy with a touch of crisp from the coating. The snapper dish was tasty, not a fan of mushrooms but dealt with them since the overall combo of spinach, caper, and tomato went well. The fish was served skin side down, which was crispy. I get plating the accompaniments on top, but not on the skin, however should have removed the skin since it was pointless. The cookery of the fish was good, ends were a little chewy due to getting the skin crispy, but I didn't mind. The house rice was a bit mushy, but had a good flavor since the capers were also inside. Wifey's steak was cooked correctly and tasted good too. It came with bleu cheese and a butter sauce which went well with the fries and meat. She thought it was a nice meal. Overall, would return to Porterhouse if I ever visit Peddler's again.

We started with a prosecco from the Veneto and some nice appetizers. This was a five course menu preceded by cocktails. The ambiance was an older farmhouse and we sat at a long table with Gail our wine presenter/expert sitting across from us. There were approximately 18 guests. The kitchen was open for us to see and aromas were pleasant . The food was outstanding and we particularly enjoyed the pappardelle and Osso Buco my wife has some leftovers. The wines were perfectly paired and we really enjoyed them all. The Nizzi Barbera was notable. Service was great and Gail was excellent providing history and explanations of all the wines. The second pairing had a bit of an issue with a corked bottle but all was made right. The chef came out as each course was served to explain the dishes and their preparation. I was very impressed by the way we were greeted by Noelle at the door. A little bit of history of the renovated barn turned into a cozy, well-appointed Stockton area BYOB, some smiling chat and then we were off to our table to what we were looking forward to since we made our reservation. I love the idea of the prix fixe menu with a well-rounded selection (fish, seafood, meat, and vegan choices, etc.) Apps The potato soup had a nice smooth consistency, full pieces of lobster meat, a touch of truffle. 4 stars The tuna tartare was fresh but seriously underwhelming. Not much flavor nor pizazz there. I wish I got something else. 2 stars Entrees The seafood ramen noodle thingy, explained to us that it was a newer item in the menu and very popular was the highlight of my evening. The stock is everything in ramen dishes and this was no exception. Excellent lobster stock and perfectly prepared shrimp, cooked to a snap when bitten into. The marinated egg was very different and very good. It had a nice strong tingling taste. 5 stars The braised short rib was tender but dry. However, when mixed with the au jus and pureed carrots on the plate, it livened and juiced the meat up. The roasted broccolini was inedible. Totally undercooked, chewy and a waste of a fine veg. 3 stars Dessert The peach and biscuit napolean presented itself fantastically, was looking forward to the first bite out of this jar of delight and then fell flat. The peaches were hard and tasted like unripen fruit. The honey and syrup and the sweetness of the whipped cream was all one can taste. Very disappointed and a waste of calories. 2 stars Service Hostess 5 stars, wait people 4 stars. It would have been 5 stars, or perfect, if we didn't have to wait 25 minutes for our dessert which was ordered pre-dinner. It's not like it had to be baked fresh, I didn't think. Maybe they had to whip up and bake the biscuits. And also, this was the type of place where you have to chase down your server to get your check and then once again chase them down to take your card. Now, would I go back? If I was in the area, maybe. Some of the other apps and entrees I saw being served looked very interesting. But that was the main problem I had here. Presentation was creative and art-like but some dishes ended up not living up to the vision.
