First time here. Nice outdoor deck. We each ordered an Old Fashioned and was looking forward to a relaxed and leisurely dinner. The server asked right away what we would like to order. I said we wanted to enjoy our cocktail as we weren't in any hurry. She replied that she needed to place the order by 5:00 as we only had the table for 2 hours. WHAT??? Food was good, glass of wine was sent back as I felt the bottle had been open past its fresh date. The manager cheerfully brought a glass of newly opened bottled which was very nice. Fantastic!!! They have moved from the beach to the Bay - due to Hurricane Ian. Great view. Right behind the Publix. We did the Sizzle dining menu. I had the Chargrilled Octopus as my First course and my wife had the Mozzarella Caprese. For our second course I had the Snapper and my wife had the Spiced Pecan & Cranberry Crusted Grouper. These were fantastic! The size of the grouper was huge. I had fish envy....lol. We finished it off with a piece of Lemoncello cake and a piece of Chocolate Overload Cake. Easy walk from condo where we stayed, just behind Publix on the marina. Parking also available if you're not close enough to walk. Make a reservation as it was crowded even on a weekday night. Opted to eat outdoors, which we enjoyed as it wasn't as cold as inside, better lighting (inside is kind of bright) & there were fans to keep away any bugs (was worried about bugs but was no issue!). Appreciated the white tablecloths & upscale dining feel. Our waitress, Kate, was fantastic. All the food came out with nice presentation. Blackened salmon was excellent- flaky, flavorful. The mushroom risotto was amazing!! So creamy & delish. The cranberry/pecan crusted grouper is supposedly a fav but we wouldn't order again. Could c it going well w/garlic mashed potatoes & veg for sort of a coastal Tgiving meal, but didn't feel like it worked paired w/salsa & a sweet chili sauce. Most entrees r around $30-40. Would definitely return. Management- the host area looks cluttered & could use some redesign to improve initial impression of ur restaurant. We always loved Fresh Catch when it was on the gulf side of the beach, we have visited the new location on the inside of the island a few times and have been disappointed but have given a few chances - today was the last though. My first Mother's Day as a mother and my Mom's first Mother's Day after being in a coma last year that nearly took her life - we had a lot to celebrate. The view was lovely as always and the waitress was wonderful; I ordered the lobster - it was a brown/grey in color, stringy, tough as shoe leather, and smelled very strongly, I showed the waitress and she immediately apologized and took it back to the kitchen - the manager also came over to apologize. They brought out a second one and it was the same (pics are of the second one) - I told her I just wasn't going to risk getting food poisoning and that I wouldn't eat it and don't want to take it home, to please just take it off of the bill. She came back with the bill and said the manager would only take half off of the meal (I ate some of the mashed potatoes while waiting for the re-cook). I said no worries, we just won't be back. Super disappointing way to spend my first Mother's Day - I ended up eating yogurt at home. read more

We dined here last evening. It was my daughter's bday celebration I should have made a reservation. When we arrived there were 4 tables outdoors all open, we were told we had to sit inside. Our waiter was completely overwhelmed and I bebe complain but he did not seem that busy, he never came back to ask how our food was my fish was soggy and not cooked well I told them and he took the fish off the bill and told me he was sorry I did not like it which was not the issue the fish was not cooked. My daughter ordered a filet the filet which I appreciate not being over cooked but it was rare. read more

***Spoke with manager Zach today he apologized for the issues and offered me to come back. He is very on top of things and seems to genuinely want to best experience for his patrons. If you have any issues ask for him, he will make sure your experience is as it should be. We chose Fresh Catch primarily because of its close proximity. We arrived slightly early for our reservation, and the host was kind and accommodating, even fulfilling our request for a window seat. We walked to the restaurant, but had we driven, the parking situation would have been very challenging. After we were seated, our server came to take our drink order. I do not drink alcohol, and when I informed her that I would only be having water, there was a noticeable shift in the level of service we received. I have been alcohol-free for years, and the change in demeanor was disappointing. My husband and I placed our entrée orders, and she mentioned she would leave the menus on the table. Throughout the meal, the server was very social and engaged with other tables, but her interactions with us felt brief and somewhat dismissive. We were at the pool all day and we weren't wearing our jewelry and may not have appeared lucrative. My husband requested horseradish, which was never brought to the table, and she did not check on us again until he was already halfway through his filet. The Mahi Mahi was prepared well, but the rest of the meal was unremarkable. My husband, who is diabetic, requested double vegetables. The server responded that the dish already included plenty of vegetables and offered me the potato instead. I am saddened to have to write this review because this place was highly recommended by guests that were staying at our condos. Our first time at Ft Myer's Beach-- we will never return here. The only great food was the bread. Luckily as the oil was dropped we were advised there was pesto. I am allergic to pine nuts and requested an additional serving hold the pesto which was brought back quickly. The bread was so great we requested an additional serving. For an appetizer we ordered crab cakes and calamari. The crabs cakes were not any that I would ever recommend nor order again. The best part was the sauce on top. There was no crab taste in the crab cake. Maybe 80% breading and 5% crab and 15% other ingredients. Aside from the presentation frozen store bought crab cakes are likely way better. 1 to 10 these would get a 3 The calamari my friend ordered and I think the best part was the surprise sausage or bacon flakes. The calamari itself was okay but I felt there were more other fried accompaniments and less calamari. 1 to 10 these would get a 6 My friend had the cranberry pecan crusted grouper. She requested her fish be cooked a little more as she is newer to enjoying seafood. She enjoyed her dish with the exception that the chefs did not cook up her grouper. She was very happy with the flavor and the presentation. Because of her enjoyment but due to them not adhering to her prep request 1 to 10 this gets a 7 Lastly I was excited to try the sea bass. I love sea bass. The way it was offered on the menu was with a miso teriyaki. I am not a fan of sweet meat and prefer my sea bass with a lemon burr blanc. So I instead ordered the Mahi Mahi with the Caribbean Jerk, a side of bok choy and mushroom risotto each at an additional cost of $5 each. The flavor of the Mahi Mahi was decent but only the side that soaked the bottom of the juices they were sitting in. I think the chef gave me the overcooked fish instead of my friend. It was very tough and I could barely stand to get it down. The Mahi Mahi gets a 4. It had a lot of potential but I cannot get over how this $34 piece of meat was so tough and only the base containing flavor. The bok choy was decent but needed salt as was the risotto. I prefer my food to not require additional salt but happy it was readily available. They both get a 7 Our server was busy. When she finally came back to check on us and asked how everything was, I advised her it wasn't great. Her response- "Well everyone's pallet is different" well you don't say. She offered to prep another Mahi Mahi and I told her no. Maybe had she returned sooner there would have been interest. She offered me a dessert because she wanted me to leave with something good. One of the other reviewers suggested the chocolate cake and I love chocolate cake and figured this has to be good so tried it to go. It was not worth the calories.. so there it sits in the to-go container and on its way to the trash. I know restaurants are trying to return from what Ian did. If this place had flavor, was not so highly recommended and did not miss the mark on a good crab cake (which isn't hard unless you are cutting cost... where's the meat??) and did not overcook my fish-- y'all should be the experts here I would recommend. You should make your food up to par with the presentation or at least the bread. read more

Went there last week with our whole family. Several ordered the filet. When the food was was served, two of us that ordered the filet medium cut into the steak and it was very well done, no red whatsoever. We contacted the manager, he came out and took the Starks back and apologized. They came out again, one was ok, the other was all grizzle and was not fit for eating, it was not a filet mignon., it had to be a sirloin or some other lesser cut. Again, contacted the manager, he said sorry, he would gave us dessert, took the steak away thinking that would not be on the bill. But it was, wow, I paid $55 for a steak that I took two bites out of and had to force it down. Will not be back, if you are looking for a steak, stay away from this place and the poor management. read more
