Last night we went for dinner and it was the first time and the last time. Very disappointed because we live in downtown Fort Myers and we were looking for a great local nice restaurant. We had spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parm. The waiter was awful, we forget his name. No bread! No parmigiana cheese! The food was just ok! Nothing great! Came here on Christmas for dinner since it was just me and my mom. We had a reservation and were seated right away. I started out with a drink it was a Vodka, lemon, strawberry situation and it was good. We also had crab cakes, the gnocchi mac and cheese, and I had the pork chop special. The Mac and cheese was interesting. Not sure what type of cheese was on it but not my personal favorite. The ladies next to us shared their focaccia and it was so good too! The pork chop was so goood! It came with broccolini and sweet potatoes. For dessert we ended with hr tiramisu tres leches and Omgsh I will be back for another one it was so good! Got a recommendation to check out silver king with their new chef in place as he had revitalized the entire menu. We were not disappointed we tried the chef tasting menu which did not disappoint in any way. Every course was phenomenal from flavor, plating and originality. The food here is phenomenal! Drinks are yummy - I loved the espresso martini, and the spicy margarita is super strong. For apps, we had the caprese dip and the mussels - both incredible. For our meal, we had the Gambas al Ajillo and the Spanish Octopus. The shrimp was ok but the octopus was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back for that one again. This restaurant is in the Luminary hotel in downtown Fort Myers. I was able to valet park and walk right in which was great because my parents need help walking. The menu was a 3 course menu (appetizer, main meal, dessert) I ordered the tomato watermelon salad which was awesome with cilantro, white cheese and a delicious sauce. The chef here is a 5!! One of the most beautiful pieces of red snapper over arugula and blood oranges. Wonderful. Each taste could be picked up and melded perfectly. Asparagus was also unique and wonderful and no thick pieces. The chef is spot on. The staff that took the order and delivered equally amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very high quality inside this Marriott Autograph Collection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here's the issue, the Autograph Collection properties are actually owned and operated by someone else. In this case, an outfit called MainSail. Well those people put some kind of cheezy Six Flags, Carnival Cruise, Las Vegas on an oxygen tank 20% tip on my dinner. That takes all the chef did and all the concierge did and flushes it into a trailer park. The concierge found me Blanton's bourbon for dinner though not available in the lobby bar and delivered it neat! I told her she should get a raise. The delivery young lady said Why, a Blanton man!! Everything was perfect but the cheese ball at Mainsail Corp that builds in Red Lobster at Dollywood type tips. I would have given 40-50% for the quality of this meal and the effort made to find and deliver Blanton's with dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hotel is good. The food is great. First time visiting this beautiful hotel on the Caloosahatchee River and downtown Fort Myers. It was my birthday and we wanted to do something different. So we met our friends at Beacon, an upstairs bar that is very modern and has an outside terrace. There are comfy seats all over this hotel and the bar was no exception. Then downstairs to the Silver King Ocean Brasserie for an early dinner. We were promptly seated in this ultra modern, beautiful restaurant. The kitchen is part of the restaurant and you can basically watch your food being cooked. Michelle was our server extraordinaire and a wonderful little tin of fresh baked bread and rosemary butter was brought to our table. It was heavenly and I think our friend reordered it a few times lol! I was disappointed by the limited menu. We opted to split a Cobb Salad to start and this was considered an entree. It was very tasty with bacon and crunchy croutons. Then we had the lamb chops with some kind of grits. It was delish but sort of small for a main entree. Our friends had the salmon with black rice. Everything was delicious and freshly cooked. Dave chose the key lime pie, which actually looked like a torte. By the time we left, the lobby was packed along with the downstairs bar. After a really disappointing dinner here last night, I'm amazed to read the restaurant's many favorable food reviews. Perhaps it was chef's night off? Presentation of dishes, from bread service (extra charge) to mains was deplorable and unappetising. The food itself was so heavily salted as to be almost inedible (and I love salt!). The scallops were overdone, and our fish entre was mealy, coated with some sort of batter that was hard to cut with a knife. For food, this restaurant really deserves two stars at best. The atmosphere and ambiance were fine, and our waiter (Dinko) was prompt and attentive. We enjoyed the excellent, albeit expensively, bottle of Chablis he recommended. Even so, I struggle to give this restaurant three stars, and we will not be back. read more

The Silver King Ocean Brasserie is the main restaurant of the Luminary Hotel. It's brand new, spotlessly clean, but to my view totally mismanaged. I was here for dinner and wanted a steak. I thought that would be no problem, but it was. The menu is weird and not very encompassing. It has "Beginning" and "Middle," food sections, with the "Middle" actually being the entrees. I thought I'd start off with their "Moondancers Oysters" as an appetizer, but they didn't have any oysters. Early on a weekend night and they are out of oysters? Strange. So, I ordered their Foie Gras with tropical fruit. Tough I'm not sure at what temperature a duck (yes, it was duck) foie gas is to be served, I'm darn sure not ice cold with part of it being yet frozen. Now for what I came here for, a steak. No luck with that either. They had a an A5 Japanese beef at $20/oz., 4-ounce minimum, a veal, short ribs and a "Bison." So, no typical steak the way most think of a steak. Strange. But, since I like buffalo meat, I ordered the Bison, only to be told they didn't have any. So now, this being the second thing on their menu I ordered that they didn't have, I asked "What do you have?" I was told their scallops were good, so I ordered them. When served they weren't all that great. They had one of the lousiest attempts at I sear that I've ever encountered in any supposedly good restaurant. With them being out of menu itemed foods and poor preparations of what they did have I can't recommend eating at The Silver King Ocean Brasserie. read more

Service was good. The menu is small. I had the Alaskan Halibut. It was very good. The portion was small, but it was probably the right size. I'm just "hungry". My wife had the Seared Cobia with Caulini. Very good. Like I said.... a little too upscale for me. Wish them much success. Will probably return after they are a little more established. read more

This Resturant is in the luminary hotel. We went on Christmas Eve and they were short employees and the service was slow. The food quality is decent but many better places to go for the money. The steak was 14 oz aged strip and it was tuff. The octopus app is amazing it was the highlight of the meal. This is our second visit the last visit was much better. While this visit was probably a 3 star it's Christmas Eve so I am going to say four star. read more

I feel like this restaurant is still finding its footing in some ways as the timing was a bit off and some of the flavors didn't quite go together. I think the issues are minor and will improve with time. My one suggestion would be to not put chilled tomato's on a warm steak, that is on a bed of kinda warm mashed potato's. read more

The grilled octopus appetizer was tender and packed with smoky delicious flavor. The chef's choice fish (triple tail) was divine! The fish was cooked perfectly and the white bean sauce and fennel complemented its delicate flavor. The panna cotta was unusual, but delicious - a flavor explosion. We will be back! read more

Duck breast: my favorite appetizer, I ended up eating it all by myself because it was that good Ahí tuna: This was my least favorite of the deserts, I felt like it has no flavor Charred octopus: So tender and yummy definitely recommend Crab cake: I don't usually order the crabcake because they tend to be on the dry side, but that was not the case with this one, and it was my second favorite of the night Burrata: also not my favorite but mostly because the Crostini was a bit burnt Chicken breast: Beautiful presentation, but I am afraid it was a little too garlicky for my taste, and I love garlic Espresso crème brûlée: you can definitely taste the espresso, I really enjoyed it. If you don't like espresso this is not for you Also pictured is the 8 ounce fillet, I did not get to try it but I wanted you to see what it looks like. We had a delightful meal at this restaurant in the Luminary Hotel. On certain nights they have a Prix Fixe Special for $39 and we wanted to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised with the meal. It started with an Amuse-bouche, something rarely offered in the Fort Myers area. It was a simple slice of pita with hummus, but fun and rather tasty. I followed with the Conch Beignet appetizer. It was certainly not a typical beignet, but nevertheless unique and delicious. For our entrées, my wife and I each had the Hand-cut Petite Tender Steaks with Bourbon Sauce together with sides of Mashed Potatoes and Parmesan Brussels sprouts. Everything was quite nice. And for dessert? We had the Mango Sorbet and the Espresso Crème Brûlée. Wonderful. All in all, this was a great dining experience. We were here for New Year's eve and the food and service were fine. So, on February 2nd we made reservations for Valentine's Day at 6::00 PM. Showed up a half hour early and no reservation. Funny thing is we have a recording of the staff member making the reservation. Most upsetting experience we've had in quite a while. No apologies or anything. Pretty incompetent staff members. I asked if there was any way to get a table for two outside, of course the answer was no and then the host had the nerve to tell me that they were overbooked. We would have spent $400 plus on dinner like we did on New Year's eve but instead were left to fend for ourselves. We decided to go to Christoff's on McGregor. This was our 4th time at Christoff's. What a fantastic place with great service and great food. I highly recommend them. We will definitely make sure the manager at Silver King gets a copy of the recording if they care enough to respond. read more

Nice place Newly constructed restaurant located in the luminary hotel. Everything is still shining, staff is nice but appear slightly overwhelmed with the amount of guests, but they pulled it off. They still haven't credited my initial deposit upon arrival but let's give it another week. Food was good just one meal was very undercooked, ..so had to send it back to the grill,, something I do not like to do.. but i guess this happens.. Staff in restaurant don't appear to all be working together as a team yet but have their own tables and made my evening business meal warm and cozy. A free desert or after dinner drink would have been nice for the mishap in the kitchen. I do recommend this hotel if you like modern style clean rooms with comfy mattresses and a quiet and effective air conditioning system . Drinks at the Lobby bar were a little pricy. Wow!! Silver King really is an outstanding restaurant! I took my cousin to celebrate her birthday and called ahead to let them know we were celebrating. The management and staff went out of their way to make this dinner a memorable occasion! There was a keepsake menu, signed birthday card and a very special dessert. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was perfect. Everyone was so friendly, too. We both had the conch beignets (delicious!) salmon with Parmesan Brussel sprouts and espresso crème brûlée.
