Absolutely perfect for us! My wife and I love this place. She's a very picky seafood eater and raves about the salads dressed with salmon perfectly cooked and minimal seasoning so she asks for light seasoning. I prefer more spice and have mine blackened. If we're not in the mood for a big meal they have several salads that you just can't get anywhere else and superb home made dressings you can't get anywhere else either! But great food isn't enough to get 5 stars from us. This place has great ambiance, and is super for almost any type of dinner. When it's just us we eat at the bar, often oysters shucked right in front of us. The bar is large and the bartenders are superb... especially Sandy. Everybody there has a great attitude and takes time to make you feel at home. The restaurant can accommodate larger groups inside and outside on the patio. They also have live music on the weekends! As a previous commercial fisherman, I'm reluctant to buy seafood at places that claim their fish to be fresh. Well, let me tell you...I WAS IMPRESSED. I started off with a dozen oysters. They were large and excellent. Then the house salad was to die for!. My wife got some kind of grouper dish that was cooked perfect while I had scallops. Our waitress could not have been more attentive. I've read some of the other "bad" reports and must say that the owner must have told his staff "shape up or ship out" because I couldn't find anything bad to say except that I wish they had another one in Miami. Our waiter brought us the incorrect bill. We sent back. He then brought us the correct bill and took my card....brought us back the charged bill with the incorrect card. I told him "please bring us the correctly charged bill and a voided bill with the incorrect charge". He brought back our card with the correct bill with no void receipt. Instead of waiting further we went to the bar and asked for the owner to explain the situation. (at this point its going on an additional 30 minutes) They found a voided bill in the trash an and "slapped" it down on the bar and walked away. It was someone else's voided bill not ours. After an additional 15 minutes of going back and fourth we received nothing compensated off our bill was offered two beers on the house. We just wanted the situation to be corrected. It was very difficult and took an additional hour to try to resolve the situation which ended in an argument with the owner and us leaving without knowing if it was even corrected. Before we finally left I told the owner that I felt we deserved a discount. He point blank said he "felt like we were trying to take advantage." read more

We were in town for the airshow this weekend & wanted seafood. After seeing all of the great recommendations, we decided to check it out, & I'm so glad we did!! The food was absolutely outstanding!! The atmosphere was pleasantly surprising, I haven't been there since the health food restaurant was there. Great food, reasonable prices. Interesting choices as well, not your ordinary restaurant. The charred romaine salad was amazing, much better than any regular ceasar salad. Fish tacos were rocking and we ordered two servings of hush puppies, they were that good. Tried Tin Fish for the first time, will give it a second chance. But we were not pleased with everything. I ordered the special soup of the day, Shrimp and corn chowder. The appearance of some shrimp with have helped it a lot. It tasted like what others have served as conch chowder. Drop the potatoes and spice level and call it a Shrimp and Corn Bisque. I also had the fish special, Sea Bass. The kitchen ruined a fine piece of fish. I asked for grilled, but this was so highly seasoned that all flavor of the fish was lost. Kitchen needs to learn to keep it simple. The Sea Bass platter only came with Cole Slaw, fries would have been nice. The Cole Slaw was tasty, vinegar dressing, no mayonnaise. The fried Oyster platter was the best dish at the table, good job. Our guest had the fried scallops. We all thought it was strange that they were split horizontally. Maybe they fry more evenly that way. They were breaded with the same coating as the oysters and onion rings nothing special. On the plus side, the service was exemplary. That is the main thing that will get us to come back and try again. read more

We have been enjoying this restaurant since their early days as Tin Fish. The conversion to Fresh Catch has only enhanced the experience for us. Love the Mahi Tacos (either grilled or blackened), Grilled Caesar salad, all their soups (especially the Corn Chowder), the burgers, the bartenders (BTY...they have a great Happy Hour) and of course the fresh fish. Their apparent lack of focus on this aspect has caused us to miss out on getting entrees that were paid for on a couple of occasions. I had the worst experience of my life on mothers day here. My 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son took me here for dinner to celebrate mothers day since they know i love seafood. My experience sickens me. First we ordered cheese quesadilla and chips and salsa for starters and the chips were stale and salsa horrible. We didnt eat it and the waitress took that off the bill. But the quesadilla was delicious. I ordered the special for mothers day crab stuffed shrimp which was advertised on their website as 17.95 and when the bill came it was 22.95. My kids ordered chicken parmesean (they arent fans of seafood but it was nice they offered a variety on the menu and they enjoyed it.) We sat there for 15 -20 minutes with no refills on drinks and couldnt get the waitresses attention and finally some man idk busboy or manager he had shorts on couldnt tell brought us refills. We ordered dessert and the chocolate cake was delish but the berry crumbcake was disgusting, i frankly have never tasted a dessert that wasnt good before and the waitress did take it off the bill and explained that it was not a good dessert. All this aside i made the most of it because my kids were so proud to bring me to dinner and i wanted to stay positive even though the service was awful and the food was good and bad. The worst part is while my daughter was paying, she wasnt impressed with the waitress so she left a $3.00 tip, i myself wouldnt have given a dime based on her providing awful service and the troubles with the food. I hit the restroom and we were on our way out sitting in the car. Horrifyingly, the waitress comes out the door after my 15 year old daughter and starts bitching her out for the tip amount and bitched me out for not teaching her how to tip. I had my daughter close the car window and she even tried to open her door and my daughter quickly locked it. I am appaulled that a waitress would come out and do something like this to a child on mothers day. And while i understand she wasnt happy with her tip and felt she was due her money, if youre working for tips you have to earn them by providing great service, good food and an enjoyable experience. Its not a given that you will get great tips no matter if you suck at your job or not. Also a 15 year old kid buying her mom a meal and celebrating mothers day should never have been bitched out for her less than expected tip. Sometimes ya gotta suck it up and accept the lower tips with the better ones especially coming from a kid. What a disappointment. This place came highly recommended! I'm not sure if we arrived too early, there were staffing issues at the restaurant, or we simply were not appreciated, but the six of us left shaking our heads over the confused display we witnessed. It was early afternoon and the place was nearly empty so nobody seemed rushed, but the host never brought us a high chair for the baby as he said he would, the waiter had to be asked twice to bring straws for our drinks, the baby's food arrived last after we all fed her from our plates, and the chef burned the salmon but served it anyway! We all left hungry. With so many excellent restaurants in the area, these generous and hungry diners will take our friends to another restaurant next time! By the way, the restaurant is gorgeous to see! The look of the place raised our expectations even more. We live 4/10 mile away and that's good and bad. The good: Food, atmosphere, service, surroundings, hours are all excellent. The bad: Every time we go for a walk...we want to walk to Fresh Catch! Been there several times very unorganized food is ok but service is terrible none of the girls walking around can help you one order comes out at different times not together as it should staff is very unorganized and staff seems otherwise occupied and not very friendly when you walk in there is no one telling you what to do very confusing to senior citizens. I want to like this place so badly! Their food is spot on, but their service is so pitiful. Every other time I go in there I wait 20 minutes just for someone to take my drink order. This Friday night I took a friend there bragging to her about how good their food is. Well, I watched my drinks sit at the bar ready to be delivered for 5-10 mins, While they sat there, I observed 3 bartenders tending to other guests and socializing, which I would have found appropriate had my drinks been delivered. Meanwhile, I saw the owner dancing in the doorway of the patio, again, if someone just ran us our drinks, no big deal. Then our server continued to tell us she would be right with us, every 5 minutes she said I'll be right back. I watched her deliver 3 different tables waters...WATERS! Then she stopped at the bar to hug a friend and then talked to him for a few minutes. I HAVE NEVER WALKED OUT ON A TAB, but I stood up and left. I was there for 35 minutes, starving! and no one asked for my order. The server didn't ask anyone for help and no one else checked on us. We have eaten at Fresh Catch 5 or 6 times over the past year or so. The food has always been very good and fresh. If you like fish tacos or fish and chips this place is for you. Every friday me and my husband like to have fish. We like to try new places to eat seafood. We were in the Stuart area today and I had a copy of a news article from our local paper about your restaurant. I called and placed an order to go for the fish and chips. I had 3 orders at $7.95 each. We were very disappointed in our dinners. The fish pieces were very small. there were 3 pieces, but were not even the size of one that another restaurant has given us. The waffle fries were not cooked and the cole slaw was dry and did not have a good taste. When we got home, we had to recook everything. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our meal here, but there were a few things left to be desired. The service was great, very friendly and our server didn't keep us waiting for anything. Drinks were refilled promptly and food came out quickly. We were there before 6 pm and were able to order 2 fish tacos off the happy hour menu for 1/2 price, which amounted to 5.95 and was a great deal! The tacos were full of fish and toppings and tasted great, definitely recommend them. The calamari was also 1/2 price but was nowhere near as good. The breading was soft and lacking seasoning and the calamari was rubbery. Stick with the fish tacos. My husband ordered a fried seafood plate but was a bit disappointed, it was just ok. The seafood pot, however, was fantastic! It was overloaded with muscles, clams and shrimp and in a flavorful broth with bread for soaking up what's leftover. In general a good meal. read more

We went to Tin Fish in the middle of the day to avoid crowds. My wife sat down because she is handicapped. When I asked for a menu, the counter person (manager?) said curtly that they gave away 500 menus on 20 pound bond paper and had to reorder more menus and directed me to read the menu above the counter. I ordered the daily special flounder for my wife and tilapia for me. The order was delivered and we were told our bill was $34. While we were eating, a waitress came to our table with two platters, saw we were eating, and left. Then, another waitress came and asked us if we liked our meal of salmon. We think that we were served the wrong meal as I had ordered flounder. It seemed to us that this is a very poorly organized restaurant. The service is poor and matches their attitude.
