We tried Fresh Catch for the first time tonight with dinner to-go. It was absolutely delicious!! I had the crab cake dinner which came with fresh vegetable (amazing!) and mashed red potatoes. Went on a Sunday and the service was horrible. 2.5 hours for lunch. Had to go to the bar to order a drink and to cash out. Had been here several times with no problems. Today was not good. Will think again before going there. Very disappointed. Had people vitiating from out of town and would never do that again. Food was good. Just very very poor service. read more

Went there Friday night, they were very busy but we were seated quickly and the server was great! We had family from out of state with us. The Special Fiesta Cobia was delicious! They had music on the patio Harold, who made the evening seem like a party, definitely the place to be. The prices were quite reasonable when you think about the local fisherman bringing it in while. It doesn't get any better than this. Great food, great staff, and great environment! Their happy hour is from 3-6 every day (get the firecracker shrimp) which includes appetizers and drinks. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays too! I had a week stay in Stuart and went here every night for dinner. Their catch of the day, which happened to be grouper was fantastic!! This place has gone downhill. How sad. Used to love this place. The bartender is possibly the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of service from. When I asked how I could be charged a higher price than the quoted $5.00 happy hour top shelf price, he told me "dear, that's what it is". I asked for a manager or owner, he was rude as heck with his response. I guess the owner or manager don't care. That's what I was led to believe. This bartender spent most if his time conversing with his friends. It was very hard to get his attention, and when we did , he was very abrupt. We both ordered off the menu. My Shrimp chowder literally had one popcorn shrimp in it. I've had this soup before, and this wasn't even close. What a major let down. I must certainly wouldn't interrupt our bartender to tell him, because he was too busy with his friends. Never again. Sorry this place has gone down so bad. read more

Had dinner at this place last night with my family. Five of us were able to eat for less than $100. The individual meals were just so so, but really not anything to write home about. I've had much better it many other places. As for the service, lackluster at best. The waitress was never around, and seemed genuinely confused every time she came to the table. Just left Fresh Catch. The place is dirty. We wiped off the bar ourselves with a napkin and it was black. The disposable drink coasters had use so many times that they were a soggy dirty mess. We met friends there for dinner tonight. I will say that the food was tasty, But. I ordered the grilled Scallop Plate. Wife had fish tacos. When I walked in there was a large bowl of scallops in the deli case, and they looked fresh. I forger how many the menu said were on the plate but what I got was half the amount. Why? They took these beautiful scallops and sliced them in half, about the thickness of a silver dollar. They were served grilled on a bed of raw cabbage with some sort of a salsa like stuff on top. As I said, Tasty. but the only side was Cole Slaw, more cabbage, and at $18.95 I expected more for that price. Like maybe over a rice pilaf. Or even saute'd cabbage. I feel it was misleading to show the raw scallops and not deliver the same. Also, a pet peeve of mine, the shrimp my guest had were served breaded, fried with the TAIL ON. I know thats all the rage now but it serves no useful purpose. I makes me feel like the Chef just didn't care to take the time to do it right. You get what you pay for. My husband and I had high hopes, but they were squashed. The only reason I would give them even one star is because the shrimp and corn chowder was pretty tasty. Other than that we were extremely disappointed. I got the fish sandwich platter. Two narrow, hot dog sized pieces of fish on a thick hot dog bun. Halfway through it I realized that I had taken a few fishless bites and didn't even notice because it all tasted the same. My husband got a burger and the lettuce was one huge piece that not only stuck out and inch all the way around, but it was so wet that when he held the burger up, water poured off of it making a huge puddle in his basket. They must have been out of salt and decided to use seasoning salt instead. We both got cole slaw and fries, but couldn't eat them. There was no taste except for the healthy doses of seasoning salt all over both of those sides. The real icing on the cake; however, was the waitress behind the bar. We thought she was chewing on her fingernails, but then we realized she was holding something. She was opening new bottles of Tabasco sauce, chewing the extra plastic off the caps with her teeth, putting the caps back on, and placing the bottles on the counter for guests to use. She had done that with several bottles. She wasn't trying to hide what she was doing, everyone could see her do it, but she didn't care and management didn't say anything to her. My husband and I had eaten at Tin Fish and liked the food so we decided to try Fresh Catch for dinner on a Monday night. We were seated in the bar area, but had to move ourselves away from the view of the bathroom area to another table. The overhead fan was on high and we requested it to be lowered so we could sit there comfortably. Our dinner order took a very long time (about 30 minutes) to come out of the kitchen. Both my husband's order and mine were not correct and had to be returned to the kitchen and remade. The cobia was tasty and veges cooked perfectly, but the cocktail sauce was almost frozen and the salmon barbeque sandwich had too much sauce and should not have included a slice of cheese on top. The house dressing is too exotic for most tastes as well. We think Fresh Catch has potential, but needs to get it's act together to succeed. read more

Terrible food. We read all the great reviews on Yelp and decided to try lunch there. 2 adults, 2 teens and 3 kids. The fried calamari and conch fritters apps were tasteless, the chicken sandwich had hairs in it, the fish sandwich tasted fishy/algae, the fresh wahoo fish sandwich had a huge bun that was cold and dewey (not toasted), and the fresh tuna wrap had shredded cheese in it -ruining the taste. They replaced the fishy fish sandwich with a cheeseburger, and the chicken sandwich with hairs in it (they were identified just as the waiter passed the dish to us so he saw them as well), was replaced with a kids mac and cheese. A one hour lunch took 2+ hours and we were only compensated for our chicken sandwich with hairs. The service was not great in that plates were not cleared, our request for additional tartar sauce was not delivered and a refill on diet coke was only given as we were leaving and after we complained. We requested to speak to the manager but the waiter came back later to say sorry they were not in that day (what restaurant works without a manager on any day?). He did give us the owners card to write him/her, but honestly, what is the point -they can read about our bad experience on here. More importantly we want others to know so that they do not waste good money on a very bad experience. There is so much amazing food out there that to have to eat such terrible food and have such a terrible time and for so long, nobody should subject themselves to that. The atmosphere is also somewhat depressing. It is dark, and there is a terrible echo in the room, making it very loud. Our waters were also never replenished. Never again. We thought we would try this one evening for Happy Hour. Like all Happys the drink prices weren't bad. The server, who was pleasant and helpful said the fish tacos were a great deal, so we tried them. Had about the same amount of favor as a fish sandwich at Mickey D's. Next we tried the "Firecracker Shrimp." Hoping they wouldn't be too spicy, not a problem at all, again next to no favor. No real need to order a salad. The entrees came with a good size portion of mashed potatoes and vegetables. Good food, simple menu, surprisingly inexpensive. We had conch chowder, grilled mahi-mahi taco, grilled mahi- mahi burrito with fries and beers and iced tea to wash it all down. The chowder was excellent, spicy with lots of conch, and the tortillas tasted homemade. The atmosphere was pleasant, music playing was just loud enough so that you couldn't hear the conversations of the diners nearby. We were seated and served promptly and the wait staff was friendly. When the owner is away the food suffered. I had the flounder special, as did a friend sitting across from me. It was a large table of about 10 people. 2 of the orders were wrong, half the table got their food 25 minutes before the other half. My food was cold. It was also devoid of spices and wasn't at all seasoned. It tasted like nursing home food, very bland. The friend above got her food 25 minutes after mine, same dish, it was also cold and devoid of flavor. She sent it back. It reappeared, 25 minutes later the same way, but with an extra piece of fish. The waiter said the kitchen was backed up, which doesn't explain why the food was cold. I've never had a bad meal here before. I asked for the owner. The waiter said he was on vacation. We've eaten at Fresh Catch many times. However, after our visit on Friday night, we've removed them from our list of local restaurants that we patronize. We were seated in the main dining room. We only needed a moment to decide on our orders. We closed our menus and waited for our server. And waited. And waited. Different servers passed our table many times, looked at us, and kept going. Nobody approached us to ask if our order had been taken, or to offer us drinks, or to simply say that somebody would be with us soon. After 15 minutes we left the table and asked to see the manager. She apologized, offered to seat us again, and assured us that we would be served promptly. But by that time we had no confidence in their waitstaff. We left and went to Carrabba's, where we had excellent food AND excellent service. We won't return to Fresh Catch. read more

This was our first time visiting Fresh Catch and now im wondering why we waited so long! Upon walking in we noticed how amazing the food being prepared smelled and knew we were in the right place. The ambience is great and the wine rack display behind the bar is amazing! I had the shrimp/crab chowder and blackened shrimp tacos which were both seasoned to perfection. My husband had the wedge salad and chicken picatta which he raved about. He did want for a tad more lemon in it and our very nice server Catie was happy to supply him with some. He was very impressed with the cut of the chicken and how thinly it was pounded (and being a former chef he is very hard to impress!) Given that I only eat seafood and my husband only eats meat, FreshCatch provided a wonderful meal for us both. All in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!! read more

Very disappointing! Party of 4 and everyone was shocked. My father in law and I ordered the fried fish and fries. Both arrived with cold fries and the meager portions of fried fish were straight out of a bag. Oh yeah and we got fried oysters with the fish! almost forgot the two or three tiny little specks under the fish pieces. Horrible. My wife got the lobster ravioli, four of them in a nice sauce with three small pieces of asparagus... no salad, no bread, just 4 ravioli and 3 pieces of asparagus FOR DINNER?????? why would anyone ever go back is beyond me. Mother in law got grilled Mahi Mahi, witch was a small piece of bland fish on a scoop of bland mashed potatoes with a few pieces of luke warm vegitables on the sides. Our waitress did bring us some fresh fries when my father in law asked, (i never complain at restaurants, I speak with my wallet and returning or not) but she didn't give us silverware or come to fill drinks a single time. Everyone left hungry and regretting our decision to give them a try. We went right to the fridge when we got home to get something to eat. I really think we would have had to try to have a worse meal for $70ish dollars. Needless to say we will never be back there and will be sharing our experience with our friends. Now we know! We make a point of trying new local restaurants and I guess you win some and you lose some..... Had lunch today with a large group (36) ladies. The food was delicious, but I must say the service left a lot to be desired. First of all, they set up our luncheon by seating 18 people to a table. Making 2 tables. This was VERY inconvenient for those who have canes, etc. We were squished in like two cans of sardines. You couldn't hardly hear your neighbor speak without shouting. Plus no arm room to actually eat your lunch. I was at the second table, our order was taken in a timely manner, but the other table, who had people arrived after our was filled....got their food first, while we waited 15 more minutes for ours, the first table in our group had almost finished eating before we got our lunch! Although, It did come hot and fresh, as proclaimed. We had 3 people at our table who decided to have a burger. They waited until all were served, then twere old the burgers take longer! Since when? Yes it is a seafood place, but if you don't want to make burgers then don't offer them on the menu. Nothing was said at our table about the food taking longer to prepare, nor was any drink refreshed.
