Got to the restaurant just before noon for pick, they could not find the order. They tried to said it was my fault because I ordered before them open. My reply: Don't even go there. That sent the hostess scrambling away and the rest of the staff was now on notice. They found the order, had to re-entry it. The order of blackened fish turned out to breaded cod in what tasted like mexican taco sauce...nasty. And the salad, although good size, was wilted and not Fresh by any means. I ordered the chargrilled romaine salad $10.95. I didn't care for the salad add ons of shrimp $5.95 or the others and asked if it was possible to do an add on of calamari. Was I shocked when the bill came and the add on charge was $13.95. Way overpriced! This was only my second time here. First time I wasn't so impressed with my conch salad that was served room temperature. Also, a $5.00 off coupon I had was credited to my friends bill. Since I was with a birthday group I didn't want to make a big deal about it. My wife and I live about a mile from Fresh Catch Seafood and we think it's a great little local restaurant. We will only sit at outside dining establishments and we enjoy or time here. Our waitress offered the red snapper.. it's not a whole it a filet frozen at that and dry. So my one and o ly bite I was going to eat anymore. Dinner with my bride on Friday night. The place looked nice and the entire staff seemed super friendly. We did sit outside and enjoyed the live music. A few drinks and some raw oysters to start off the meal were very good. We both had the wahoo which was the catch of the day. I had the blackened and my wife had the grilled. Both were good and the mashed potatoes were really good. This is coming from someone who does not care for mashed potatoes. We have the homemade key lime pie which was on point. Sunday afternoon, server not pleasant, acted as if she was unhappy to be there doing her job and annoyed when we asked several question about the menu items. One question: how are the JUMBO lump crab cakes, is there a lot of filler. Her reply, not a lot of filler, good and very popular. Except that's not the case. No lump crab, instead completely blended up to nothing and mostly bread crumb filler, overcooked vegetables and barely warm rice. When server asked how it was, I said mostly filler, no lump crab, not very good. She said oh, people never complain, are you from Maryland or something where they have real lump crab cakes? Really?, lol. She did offer to get me something else, but I told her never mind. I ate 1 of the two crab cakes because I was hungry, barely touched the lousy rice and overcooked vegetables. This was our first visit to Fresh Catch while we are staying on Hutchinson Island for a quick staycation. Here are our bottom-line points: - Food: Super fresh fish of the day; decent, but outdated sides. I got the hogfish, grilled, which came with julliened veg and an ice cream scoop of mashed red potatoes. The portion of fish was healthy and hearty, definitely fresh catch. The veg was also decent, as were the potatoes, but I would've like to have a more modern or updated set of sides. Just leaves so much to be desired there. My wife got three fish tacos with the three fresh options: hogfish, grouper, and tripple tail. The fish was also fresh and delicious, but we were confused by the fresh fish tacos being served with shredded cheddar cheese and ranch dressing...just takes away from the fresh fish. Thankfully we got it on the side. We first were sat outside where the "live music" was. The single singer seemed nice enough, but went on break shortly after we sat down and started playing Tone- Loc "Wild Thang," an interesting and misplaced option...and not quietly to say the least. We easily, and happily, shifted our seat to inside. Made for a much nicer dining experience. The staff was extremely nice. Our server was very attentive and was flying around the floor making sure all the tables were taken care of. The decor was nice as well. Bottom-line, this place is good, not great, and has a TON of potential. We had fresh shucked oysters to start with, they were mildly briny and medium sized on the day of our visit My mother had the Angus burger and said it was very good I had the fresh catch which was a choice of Golden Tile, Grouper or Red Snapper on the day of our visit...I went with the Golden Tile, and it was perfect blackened with a generous side of fresh sautéed vegetables No question, we now have a new favorite place in Stuart! read more

This is a great find with wonderful seafood. We sampled all of their shrimp appetizer dishes and they did not disappoint. We loved the buffalo shrimp and firecracker shrimp. The cocktail shrimp were large and tasty and we enjoyed the house made cocktail sauce. They did a great take out order and nothing warms my heart more than a restaurant that does take out well. I visited this Fresh Catch about a month ago and meant to leave a review. I was passing through on my way back to Fort Lauderdale, and ran into Fresh Catch really by accident. I am giving this place 5 stars because for me it really was the full package. Not only was the food great but the service was really good. My waitress Alli was very accommodating, and she's the reason my review is 5 stars. I don't leave many reviews for restaurants I visit unless my experience was exceptional, and my experience at Fresh Catch was very fulfilling. I am one of those pain in the butt patrons that always asks for changes. It's always hit or miss with the servers. Some are really cool about it, and some wanna rip my head off. Alli was one of those great servers that made me feel very comfortable with all of the requests I had. My food came out fast, it was fresh, and delicious. One of the things I look for in a restaurant is how attentive the servers are, how fast they refill my drink, and how many check ups they do at my table. Alli was on point with all of those things, and even told me some quick fun jokes to cheer me up. I will also give a shout out to Chef, and cooks who were cool with the changes I asked for. So thank you Alli, and thank you Fresh Catch for making my very crappy day, a better one. If I could give them ten stars I would. I will definitely be back. read more

We specifically went there for the cracked conch. We asked the bartender if it was a whole filet of conch and she said yes. We thought we finally had found a restaurant that serves a whole big cut of conch, not the little tiny cut up pieces that are horrible. As we waited with anticipation, the plates arrived. On them were small, over breaded, black burnt pieces of under tenderized conch?? They had been cooked in old oil. We asked the bartender was happened to the whole filets and she said the chef(??) tenderizes the filet then cuts it up. It was horrible. I should have sent it back. I am a culinary trained chef that has lived in the Bahamas and this was not cracked conch properly prepared. We won't be going back there. read more

It was a thin piece of grilled fish on a bun with lettuce and tomato. Nothing else we had to ask for tartar sauce. I will have to say here it was the catch of the day. I believe it was Tile fish. I was not familiar with it. The meal also came with waffle fries. And we both added a soft drink. The meals were about $24 each. That's almost $10 more than I paid for a swordfish steak later that night at another restaurant. Say here that the staff was very friendly. The Decour of the restaurant was also very inviting. First time here on July 8. Great atmosphere had a few appetizers which were great! Fish dip is amazing! Service was great from our first bartender from arrival till 4 pm. Next shift bartender came in a blonde bartender. Served us a drink, nice bartender came back said she was leaving so we paid our tab, assuming everything was on that tab, which it should've been. She had conversation with the nice bartender and said I'll just open a new tab. We ate drank paid our tab and as we were leaving the blonde bartender said have a nice night and don't worry I comped those drinks in a way that made the whole restaurant look at us like we did something wrong! I frequent Stuart, FL on occasion for business. I decided to check out this restaurant. Very quaint and nice decor. I sat at the bar and Larissa was tending the bar. She made me feel welcome and made it a point to remember my name throughout the evening. She was always there when I needed a drink or the check on me. It was a fun and entertaining time! I've been going to Fresh Catch for about 1 year; maybe about 10 times. Recently I took a look at my Credit card statement to reconcile this CC statement with my receipt. To my surprise, there was a Credit Card fee of $1.90. I understand that, as a company accepting a Credit Card, that you're hit with a fee. With 63 previous reviews, there is not much left to say. We came for lunch and had two amazing fresh fish/seafood meals! My husband started with six fresh raw oysters, delicious! Then he had the seafood pot with clams, mussels, and shrimp cooked in the perfectly flavored sauce type broth. This dish came with bread, and of course, we had to share. I had to agree, the flavors were amazing! I had the day's catch, a Hogfish fillet over their Signature Salad with the house soy dressing. It was another absolutely delicious meal. Awesome!!! Great ambiance that attracts a good crowd. I had the Seafood Pot which was fantastic. If you like clams, oysters and shrimp in a garlic and tomato sauce this is it. My wife had the fried shrimp and it was not greasy nor heavily battered and was delicious. Our waiter Paul was amazing! They have a lovely patio area and musicians on the weekend.
