I went to Sahadi's Hotties for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed! When you first pull into the parking lot, the place doesn't look like much... it's basically a small shack with a few picnic tables outside. Keep in mind that there's no indoor dining area, and it's cash-only. They serve both breakfast and lunch, with a pretty extensive menu, which has everything from egg and cheese sandwiches to fried dough to their signature hotdogs. You can go with the standard hotdog, or they currently have a selection of eight "Specialty Hotdogs" which are all really interesting. I tried the "Chipper Dog," which included mustard, chili (not spicy) and crushed potato chips, and it was amazing! I then saw they had one called the "Scooby Doobie Dog," which included peanut butter, jelly, and bacon. Now I've never heard of putting peanut butter and jelly on a hotdog, and definitely had my doubts on how good it would taste, but it was surprisingly delicious! I also ordered a side of fries which were hot and crispy, as well as a Coke to drink. I thought the prices were reasonable and the service was very quick, with my food being ready only about a minute after ordering. The staff were friendly. Small little place in New Britain. Tried a couple hot dogs with chili, onion, and mustard. Pretty good. The hot dogs are small/thin. I tasted more chili/bun/mustard than hot dog. I would like to go back to try the burger and I've heard they have great breakfast sandwiches. As for service it's a bit slow but I only saw two people working back there. The cookies are excellent btw, I would add one or two onto any order. VERY fresh. Not stale at all. Cash only but prices are very fair. Overall a good experience but not better than Capital Lunch or Riley's both in New Britain. Definitely worth a try though. read more

This place is a classic dive-- in a totally good way. It's just a roadside shack really but a lovely one at that. It had been a while since my last visit and while they increased their prices modestly it's still a great value. Got an Kelly (kielbasa) and egg and cheese sandwich. Ordered ahead via phone and it was ready for pickup quickly. The roll was great and everything came out well. The home fries were tasty though I like mine with a bit more crispy. That said they were soft and tasty so it's just a big sloppy trying to eat them on the go. Overall a great value and a fun place to grab your breakfast to go! read more

My husband and I have been searching for a local, delicious breakfast sandwich place! We found it! We called to place the order at 6:30am, today which is Friday, and when they answer the phone, they have the most uplifting personality! We ordered 2 Sausage Egg and Cheese that have hashbrowns on them and 2 Caramel Iced Coffees for a total of $19.50 which isn't bad at all! My husband went to pick it up and he said the inside was pretty cool and they are playing great upbeat music! The most delicious Iced coffee and the crunch of the hashbrown on the sandwich was out of this world! We will definitely be ordering from them again! I've driven past Sahadi's numerous times on my way to Great Taste and I always had a hunch that it would be good. Recently, I noticed Sahadi's on Yelp, and any hot dog, etc. place in Hot Dog City (New Britain also has Riley's & Capitol Lunch) with 4.5 Yelp Stars demands near immediate attention. Taking cost out of it, Sahadi's did not surpass my favorite hot dog places in the State, but there sure is a lot to like. The price point is great. They have a special of two hot dogs (in my case dressed with chili sauce, mustard and chopped onion), fries and a canned soda for $8 with tax. The hot dog itself was a terrific standard size natural casing dog cooked perfectly. And I've got to rave about the bun for a second. This bun is sized and shaped to hold these hot dogs. It tasted fresh, but the taste allowed the dog to be the star. Sahadi's bun looks better than the hot dog buns I can buy at a grocery store. If these buns are for sale somewhere, please message me because I want them for my cookouts. The chili sauce was fine, but didn't have the wow factor I was looking for. For me, it's not as good as the chili sauce at other top CT dog places. I've got to give a standing O for the French fries. Although Sahadi's has very good French fries, they're not better than my favorite fries in the area. However, Sahadi's has recognized that sometimes a person just wants some fries rather than a huge bag that costs a few dollars. I'd almost always prefer to pay a bit to get a bit. Thanks for making that possible. You can get takeout and service was prompt. Or, they have a bunch of outside picnic tables. Sahadi's has other things- burgers, breakfast sandwiches, other sandwiches. And I will be back to try some of those things, because Sahadi's is doing very good things for a great price. I took out lunch from here. Prices were reasonable. Chicken parm sandwich was my favorite here. The snopp dog was a good one to try. The fried doug was slightly thicker than the ones available in the fairs, but still good. There were some outdoor seats, but no indoor seats. read more

I was hungry for a hot dog, so I figured I'd hit up Sahadi's. I pulled up into the small parking lot, and got a decent spot. I hopped out of my car, and walked up to the window. It's a cash-only place, but that's no problem. Lots of place are. I order two chili dogs, light on the onions, their cheese fries (the cheese comes in a cup on the side), and a can of coke. Took just a few minutes. They called me for my food, I went over to one of the many picnic tables they have set up for guests, and I opened up my bag. Two piping hot dogs with chili and onions, and some French fries, along with a coke. The dogs were delicious, and those fries! Ok, I just want some gravy and squeaky curds, because it screams, "Make me into Poutine!!!!" Really good food. I was here once before, and grabbed a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and that was absolutely incredible. This place is a real gem. Should you try it? Yes! read more

Went for breakfast sandwiches- one bacon egg and cheese, another ham, egg and cheese and I side of home fries to share. Love the freshness of the rolls, the bacon was the perfect level of crispy and they were generous with the quantity. The home fries were not what I excepted but were still good - I was thinking of chunkier potatoes. Now that I see them coming off the griddle, it makes sense they offer to top with cheese and bacon- that alone could be a meal. Next time we'll be more adventurous with kielbasa, spam, etc and there WILL BE a next time - looking forward to it read more

A hidden gem to us out of towners,but a local favorite !!! I have heard great reviews from friends that I just had to check them out. This quaint dive gives you that old school feeling. The employees are very friendly and got right to showing us how to order and whats their fan favorites. They have plenty of picnic styled benches ,so you can eat on site or order ahead and pickup is a snap. They have a nice menu with hamburgers (my 8 yr old recommends) , breakfast options,fried dough, chicken ,tuna,clam strips ,wings and much more . They have specials and Apple Fritters (October) that are fair worthy. Definitely try them ! The prices are great and knowing your getting good food thats fast is a plus. So recently my Bff and I decided to go eat outdoors at this cute little shack called Sahadi, in New Britain Connecticut. They have a variety of meals and I have heard there breakfast sandwiches are to die for. I haven't tried those yet but it's on the bucket list of things to try. My BFF and I decided to try the hotdogs with onion rings on it. I also ordered a fish sandwich with fries and a soda. The fish was fried good not too hard. Nice and crispy and cooked well. I had cheese, onions and tarter sauce delicious. My BFF had a different sandwich and fries,you have to see her review to know about that. Just look up elite Dawn Hartman. Anyway back to my food I truly enjoyed the onion ring hotdog. Both buns were fresh and nice and soft. The service friendly and awesome. They have a 420 tip cup that brought me laugher. This place has been in New Britain for many years. So if you like good fried foods and a good steak sandwich for a good price. Then Sahadi is the place to visit, I definitely recommend trying them out for the summer. For I believe they are closed during winter hours. There will be more food featured from here stay tuned. These are my people at Sahidi's Hotties! Great food for breakfast or lunch. They offer a good variety of food. I tried the breakfast sandwich special with a hash brown. Perfection! I've also had the chicken tenders. They offer great hot dogs, burgers, etc. All take out, but they do offer picnic tables out front to sit & eat. I also had a homemade chocolate chip cookie which was amazing! The prices are fair, just remember to bring Cash! You can't go wrong here and it's definitely worth a try. Great people too. You have only one opportunity to make a good first impression and Sahadi's did! I probably have driven by this restaurant a 100 times since it opened for business over 16 years ago without ever stopping in - boo on me. After reviewing the menu, I ordered a kielbasa sandwich which came on a lightly grilled hot dog roll with a choice of toppings. I voted for brown mustard and kraut. The kielbasa was crisp and delicious - much better in quality than the one I recently purchased at Roly Poly, but that is another story. On my next visit, and there will be another, I will be taste testing the hot dogs with their homemade relish or maybe a red hot or possibly a breakfast sandwich or maybe - damn, decisions, decisions. Sahadi's is my go to place for breakfast sandwiches mainly. They have a board full of breakfast sandwich options that I haven't come close to trying them all. Their prices are very good and the service is friendly and fast! They blow away the fast food chain restaurant down the street from them. I personally like their pepper relish to add a little kick to my sandwiches. They have their own parking lot which is convenient. They open early so I have no issues getting ahold of them before work. They are now open on Mondays as well. read more

Phil Sahadi and crew have been doing the dogs since 1998 and have quite the competition in the Hardware City (2 other hot dog joints claim they serve the best dog in New Britain). Ratings:... John: 7.5/10, Me: 8/10. John said it was a good dog and he like dhow the bun complemented the dog. It was a Martin Rosol, flat-grilled dog. John rated it a 7.5, saying that the chili could have used more spice. I said that I really liked the joint - small and simple. It was a Martin Rosol dog on the grill and it definitely had that 'snap' to it. They offered us a choice of either yellow mustard or spicy brown mustard, we went with spicy. I liked the spicy mustard as well as the finely chopped onions. It was really, really good. Want to know the truth? It has been a long time since I've been to Sahadi's Hotties. I used to have the breakfast sandwiches and home fries ALL THE TIME because I worked down the street. Either I'd go to pick up the food or one of my co-workers would. It didn't matter and no one seemed to fuss too much when it was her turn to go. Because we knew we'd all be in for an incredible start to the day. I was recently in CT for my cousin's wedding and I would've loved to come by to introduce my husband to the wonder of Sahadi's Hotties (though I've never had the hot dogs!!) but we were having a rough time of it already, as newbie parents to a little one. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich has not been bested by any other I have had since eating breakfast here, nor have the home fries. Truthfully, I don't know what the secret is to the deliciousness of the breakfast fare here, though I suspect cooking food on a griddle infuses it with magic or something similar. The seasoning is always SPOT-ON. When you factor in how much you pay for food here, you literally feel like you're possibly the one exploiting the place. My favorite place for a breakfast sandwich! For starters, they use fresh meat and eggs for the sandwiches and they cook everything to order and use kaiser rolls. This place has been around since I was a kid. You can get a sandwich for $2.50 or more if you add an egg or get steak. Can I get two sandwiches for $5 please?! This review is for the hot dog... ...which was quite good, bordering on great. This is of the New Britain style it seems, similar to the exceptional dog at Capitol Lunch. The dog itself is quite good, the bun is soft and smooshy, and the sauce is not quite as dark and mysterious and weird as CL's. I also really liked the vibe at this place, they have cheap lunch specials so if I'm in the area I think I will certainly come back for a meal. Nice local spot. read more

Sahadi has a great back story, a pared-down and well thought out menu, and red onion sauce worthy of Grey's Papaya in New York. It's not easy to stand out against Capital Lunch in New Britain, but Sahadi has managed to make a distinctive and extremely tasty mark.
