I went to Sahadi's Hotties for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed! When you first pull into the parking lot, the place doesn't look like much... it's basically a small shack with a few picnic tables outside. Keep in mind that there's no indoor dining area, and it's cash-only. They serve both breakfast and lunch, with a pretty extensive menu, which has everything from egg and cheese sandwiches to fried dough to their signature hotdogs. You can go with the standard hotdog, or they currently have a selection of eight "Specialty Hotdogs" which are all really interesting. I tried the "Chipper Dog," which included mustard, chili (not spicy) and crushed potato chips, and it was amazing! I then saw they had one called the "Scooby Doobie Dog," which included peanut butter, jelly, and bacon. Now I've never heard of putting peanut butter and jelly on a hotdog, and definitely had my doubts on how good it would taste, but it was surprisingly delicious! I also ordered a side of fries which were hot and crispy, as well as a Coke to drink. I thought the prices were reasonable and the service was very quick, with my food being ready only about a minute after ordering. The staff were friendly. Overall a great hotdog spot with some unique toppings that I've never seen anywhere else!

I've driven past Sahadi's numerous times on my way to Great Taste and I always had a hunch that it would be good. Recently, I noticed Sahadi's on Yelp, and any hot dog, etc. place in Hot Dog City (New Britain also has Riley's & Capitol Lunch) with 4.5 Yelp Stars demands near immediate attention. Taking cost out of it, Sahadi's did not surpass my favorite hot dog places in the State, but there sure is a lot to like. The price point is great. They have a special of two hot dogs (in my case dressed with chili sauce, mustard and chopped onion), fries and a canned soda for $8 with tax. The hot dog itself was a terrific standard size natural casing dog cooked perfectly. And I've got to rave about the bun for a second. This bun is sized and shaped to hold these hot dogs. It tasted fresh, but the taste allowed the dog to be the star. Sahadi's bun looks better than the hot dog buns I can buy at a grocery store. If these buns are for sale somewhere, please message me because I want them for my cookouts. The chili sauce was fine, but didn't have the wow factor I was looking for. For me, it's not as good as the chili sauce at other top CT dog places. I've got to give a standing O for the French fries. Although Sahadi's has very good French fries, they're not better than my favorite fries in the area. However, Sahadi's has recognized that sometimes a person just wants some fries rather than a huge bag that costs a few dollars. I'd almost always prefer to pay a bit to get a bit. Thanks for making that possible. You can get takeout and service was prompt. Or, they have a bunch of outside picnic tables. Sahadi's has other things- burgers, breakfast sandwiches, other sandwiches. And I will be back to try some of those things, because Sahadi's is doing very good things for a great price. I may be giving Sahadi's 4 Stars, but it's really 4 STARS!!

I took out lunch from here. Prices were reasonable. Chicken parm sandwich was my favorite here. The snopp dog was a good one to try. The fried doug was slightly thicker than the ones available in the fairs, but still good. There were some outdoor seats, but no indoor seats.

My husband and I have been searching for a local, delicious breakfast sandwich place! We found it! We called to place the order at 6:30am, today which is Friday, and when they answer the phone, they have the most uplifting personality! We ordered 2 Sausage Egg and Cheese that have hashbrowns on them and 2 Caramel Iced Coffees for a total of $19.50 which isn't bad at all! My husband went to pick it up and he said the inside was pretty cool and they are playing great upbeat music! The most delicious Iced coffee and the crunch of the hashbrown on the sandwich was out of this world! We will definitely be ordering from them again! The only negative is they are not open on weekends!

A hidden gem to us out of towners, but a local favorite !!! I have heard great reviews from friends that I just had to check them out. This quaint dive gives you that old school feeling. The employees are very friendly and got right to showing us how to order and whats their fan favorites. They have plenty of picnic styled benches ,so you can eat on site or order ahead and pickup is a snap. They have a nice menu with hamburgers (my 8 yr old recommends) , breakfast options, fried dough, chicken ,tuna, clam strips ,wings and much more . They have specials and Apple Fritters (October) that are fair worthy. Definitely try them ! The prices are great and knowing your getting good food thats fast is a plus. Take a ride down to meet the crew and enjoy good food today !!!!

My fish sandwich with cheese and tartar Sauce and onions delicious

So recently my Bff and I decided to go eat outdoors at this cute little shack called Sahadi, in New Britain Connecticut. They have a variety of meals and I have heard there breakfast sandwiches are to die for. I haven't tried those yet but it's on the bucket list of things to try. My BFF and I decided to try the hotdogs with onion rings on it. I also ordered a fish sandwich with fries and a soda. The fish was fried good not too hard. Nice and crispy and cooked well. I had cheese, onions and tarter sauce delicious. My BFF had a different sandwich and fries, you have to see her review to know about that. Just look up elite Dawn Hartman. Anyway back to my food I truly enjoyed the onion ring hotdog. Both buns were fresh and nice and soft. The service friendly and awesome. They have a 420 tip cup that brought me laugher. This place has been in New Britain for many years. So if you like good fried foods and a good steak sandwich for a good price. Then Sahadi is the place to visit, I definitely recommend trying them out for the summer. For I believe they are closed during winter hours. There will be more food featured from here stay tuned. And until the next review have a Awesome Enlightenment Day

You have only one opportunity to make a good first impression and Sahadi's did! I probably have driven by this restaurant a 100 times since it opened for business over 16 years ago without ever stopping in - boo on me. After reviewing the menu, I ordered a kielbasa sandwich which came on a lightly grilled hot dog roll with a choice of toppings. I voted for brown mustard and kraut. The kielbasa was crisp and delicious - much better in quality than the one I recently purchased at Roly Poly, but that is another story. On my next visit, and there will be another, I will be taste testing the hot dogs with their homemade relish or maybe a red hot or possibly a breakfast sandwich or maybe - damn, decisions, decisions. I guess this is going to require several more visits. PS - prices are right and there are a few picnic tables if you don't want to eat in.

The Pomjito is a personal favorite.. refreshing, light, and not too sweet. We also got the oysters and mussels, both solid. The mussel sauce was unique compared to a typical tomato base, which we really appreciated. For my entrée, though, I was disappointed to see that the tuna salad I always order had completely changed. It used to be an arugula salad with Asian flavors and the tuna served on top. Now it It's a Niçoise salad, and the tuna is awkwardly placed on the side. Nothing about the tuna tasted like it did before. I'm usually a sucker for ahi tuna, but this was honestly one of the most disappointing ahi dishes I've ever had. It felt totally incohesive with the salad next to it. I really wish they didn't change the menu so frequently. Once I finally find an entrée I genuinely look forward to, it disappears. That said, we'll still be back for the great happy hour food and solid drinks. Now it's just a matter of finding a menu item I like... and hoping they keep it.

There was a sense of Deja Vu when we drove into their parking lot, because at a bare minimum, TD Homers, Bickford's, and I think Howard Johnsons were here once upon a time. As far as casual dining modestly priced. "family" restaurants go; Ellie's Farmhouse was about as good as it gets. The interior is spacious and I liked the way the booths and seating in general were well spaced so you weren't on top of another party. The dining room has a country feel to it, with wide wood plank flooring. Service was stellar and we have to give a shout-out to our wonderful server Dawn. She was everything you want in a server -personable, funny, entertaining, informative, and just plain excellent. Our lunch started off with an unusual complimentary dish. Have you ever had apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon as a free starter before? I bet your answer was "no". Their menu offers breakfast and lunch from 8:00 - 2:00 during the week and until 3:00 on the weekend. I asked Dawn why Ellie's isn't open for dinner, and she said it was the owner's decision so he could spend more time with his family every day! We both went into the breakfast menu for lunch and my wife chose a Western Omelet with onions, peppers, ham, cheddar cheese, Served with one slice of toast and your choice of home fries, hashbrowns, or tots for $14.50. I went for their Breakfast Burrito with scrambled eggs, shredded potatoes, peppers, onions, black beans, pepper jack cheese, fresh guacamole with chipotle aioli and sour cream on the side for $12. It was offered with the same choice of home fries, hashbrowns, or tots. Added protein will cost you $2. I didn't add any protein, but I did ask for hot sauce and Dawn let me know their hot sauce is house made and has a $1 surcharge. My reasonably priced $3 iced coffee was strong and flavorful and very good. Both portions were enormous so half of each came home with us. My burrito was delicious, and that hot sauce was pretty much at the upper limit of my tolerance threshold. We were both very impressed with every aspect of our lunch at Ellie's.

Hot tramp, I love you so" (David Bowie) After a morning appointment in Farmington, we were both in the mood to stop somewhere for breakfast. That gave us the perfect opportunity to stop at a place we've driven by a zillion times. Rebel Dog Coffee's area shops have been on our radar for years, and yesterday we finally checked their Farmington location. It's in a strip mall shopping plaza right next to a Nardelli's more or less where Route 6 crosses Fienneman Road/Birdseye Road. Their Dog Pack has four Rebel Dog members spread out around the Greater Hartford area and some of their coffees can be found in local supermarkets. Their Farmington store is very large and comfortable, with plenty of space between the customer tables. The dining room was fairly crowded when we arrived, with people socializing and banging away on their laptops. Rebel Dog has a very deep offering of coffee drinks and food choices, Want a coffee? Well, you best be ready to choose among single or double espressos (with or without foam of whipped cream or steamed milk, lattes. Cappuccinos, mochas, and Americanos, light-dark-or decaf drip coffees, French Press, Pour Overs, teas, jot chocolates and a ton more. You can even get a growler of coffee, tea, or kombucha. I never saw that before. Now, what good is a morning coffee without something to munch alongside it? No worries, because the Dog has you covered with everything from "Build Your Own" breakfast sandwiches, six egg Benedicts, oatmeal, yogurt & granola, fruit cups, and pastries. If you arrive later in the day, your options might include soups, salads, sandwiches, grilled cheese and burgers. Our breakfast order was a cup of their Steady Habits light house blend (a medium-light roast, smooth and sweet with notes of roasted nuts, fig, and caramel), a cup of their Big Red Truck Dark Roast (a blend of both washed process and natural process Colombian coffees for a rich and layered coffee with notes of dark chocolate, crème brûlée, and warm spices), a "build Your Own" Breakfast Bagel Sandwich and an order of Avocado Toast. With tax and tip, everything totaled under $25. The sandwich we built contained ham and an egg on an Everything Bagel and we had zero complaints about it. My Avocado Toast (no added egg or protein) was wonderful. It was a thick slice of homemade multigrain bread topped with a very generous blanket of smashed avocado. We could not have been happier with our first encounter with a Rebel Dog.
