Cannolis were wonderful and they have a variety of deserts there. I would go back there again to buy these.

We tried a big selection to get a good idea of what we would order again. They were very busy on a Saturday. When you walk in, take a number and wait until you are called. I was a bit annoyed by the people standing in front of the counter as if that was going to get them called faster. I had to go down the aisle to talk to the lady when my number was called because some dude wouldn't budge. (Not the fault of the business of course). The staff was so nice and gave me suggestions on what to try. The service was excellent. For sandwiches, we tried the Italian and prosciutto. The meats were really good. Unfortunately, the oil and herbs wasn't on my husband's sub, and I think they accidentally put mild peppers instead of hot. 3/5 I learned you come here for the baked goods!!!! I tried the tiramisu, cannoli, and got an old fashioned donut for my hubs. I had a harm time choosing what delectable sweet to take home. The tiramisu was stellar. 5/5 I wish the front had a little less wine and a seating area to have a donut and coffee. It's not that kind of place to sit down and have an espresso, but still a very cool spot. They have an online order option which I'll try next time. read more

Old school Italian deli with the best classic Italian sub! They have pizza by the slice, fresh baked breads and other baked goods that all looked amazing. I got a sub, a pizza roll, sub buns and cookies. They have muffuletta sandwiches with authentic muffuletta bread they bake there. Looked perfect, and need to go back to try it. We were in town and had to stop in to check it out. They have a little parking lot beside the building. You can tell the place has been around for a while. And people were coming in and out the whole time we were there. They have a ticket system. You pull a ticket with a number and when they call your number, you can order. It works for them since they are apparently always busy. My husband wanted to try the pepperoni roll. I tried the Italian Sub. We also got some angel wings and tiramisu. All of the food was amazing. The pepperoni roll was packed with pepperoni. The Italian sub was huge and full of meat and toppings. My favorite part was the tiramisu! Hands down - best one I have ever had. We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in town. I don't think this place is going anywhere!! read more

JEERS to Bommarito's for wanting to charge me an extra $1 for a box for my cannoli and some fig cookies ( which all should have been put in a box anyway ). Was taking these treats to see an elderly aunt (92) in a rehab facility and didn't want to bring them in a tacky brown bag. Was that too much to ask for? A box. Not to mention the attitude of the worker. Should have gone to Vito's which was on the way. They would have put a bread crumb in a box if I asked. read more

I had their cookies recently and I thought they tasted terrible. Same with their brownies. They didn't even taste like chocolate. They were under baked and were 50% tasteless frosting. I didn't even like the cannoli. The shell was soggy (consumed same day as purchased) and the cannoli filling doesn't compare to any other Italian bakery. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Been going here my whole life, my dad grew up just a couple blocks from here so it's always been on the radar. The place is small so it can get a little claustrophobic when busy, but that's generally not a problem. Good subs, even if the bread can be a bit too crunchy for my tastes. Love their pizza! The cannoli cream is delicious and you can get it in a tub... makes an awesome holiday dip. Biggest complaint is it can be slllllloooooowwww if there are more than 2 people in there. Not the end of the world, but it it not a place you can always go if you don't have a lot of extra time. Today is Fat Tuesday so we ordered some paczki for a large multi family order. They are the best place for cannoli ones so we tend to get them here. We were shorted 2 cannoli and a custard. The number looked correct but it seems there were place holder 'donuts' in the 2nd box (we assume for the 2 missing cannoli as I think they are filled to order) and something we did not order was mistakenly added. We called and they said they would get that fixed up for us after the appointment we're at. :) If you are in the neighborhood, make sure you check it out for a slice or some baked goods. read more

This is a must hit place whenever I visit Detroit. I could literally spend hours in there. They've got a great wine selection. The cookies are off the chart they make great pizzas and subs, and they have lots of good produce and specialty meats. It's a taste of heaven when I go in. read more

Be prepared to wait as they are busy regularly but well worth it. They usually have several options for Pizza too. The pastry and sweet selections are fantastic. You'll find pretty much any Italian pastry you could want here and everyone I've tried are great, especially the S cookies . This is a really great old school bakery and market. The service is very friendly and fast. You get charged an additional 4% if you pay with a card instead of cash. It's a nautical Cracker Barrel :) love coming here for a fun lunch . They play oldies which I like . Makes you feel like your in Florida . My favorite food is the deep fried mushrooms , it's an appetizer but you could eat it as a whole meal. This isn't that crappy stuff you get in the grocer's freezer. Smooth textured ice with tart lemon and a light sweetness make this a refreshing summer delight. We love Bommarito's and have made it a family tradition. My mom used to get lemon ice when she was kid in the 1950s. Then she took me and now I take my children.
