I have been going to this salon for a while, but no longer. Every time I go, I ask myself why I keep giving my money to such rude owners. Both the husband and wife couldn't be more standoffish, rude, and overall unpleasant. Some of the technicians do a good job, but when you find a good one it is impossible to book with them again. By far the cleanest nicest nail salon I've been to on cape. Leaps and bounds nicer than any place I've been to in Hyannis or Falmouth. I have been coming here monthly for almost a year. My experience has always been more than satisfactory, so it is so surprising to see negative reviews! The whole staff has always been friendly and as accommodating as you could expect. I've heard customers say some ridiculous things, honestly, and they have always seemed to respond appropriately. I've been to a decent variety of salons, and in my opinion this is one of the cleanest. Regarding the dip powder itself, I really don't understand how sharing a jar is any different than sharing a bottle of liquid polish? If anything it seems like less cross contamination. I'm not an expert but I have never had any problem with infections or poor quality work. These are good, hard working people! I get the "dip" manicure and have spent/wasted several hundred dollars finding a salon from Dennis to Harwich that truly do dip manicures. This is the spot! WORSE NAIL SALON EVER - DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON - THE OWNER IS THE RUDEST PERSON AND HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR RESPECT ESPECIALLY TO HIS CLIENTS. I WISH I COULD GIVE THE SALON ZERO STARS. I called the salon and spoke with the owner to make an appointment for the next day for a manicure. I asked for a specific manicurist and he barked at me that it was not possible unless I booked one week out. I went into the salon the next day and waited at least 30 minutes for my appointment and the owner again barked at me when it was my time for my appointment- never one mention of being late or getting the manicurist that I requested. The manicurist was very nice and did a great job. So, for my next appointment I thought I would call one week out to request a specific manicurist and I was also making appointments for my mom and sister-in-law. When I called in, again I got the owner and I mentioned that I was making appointments for over a week out and again asked for a specific manicurist and he WOULD NOT accept my appointment with the specific manicurist. Stupidly, I made the appointments. Fast forward to the day before the appointment and the owner calls my cell about one hour before the appointments and rudely asks me to come in 15 minutes early for the appointments. I told him that would be very difficult but we would try out best but would at minimum would be ON TIME for our appointments. We arrived ON TIME for the appointments and the owner's wife walked over to us and looked at us and then looked up at the clock. I explained to her that we were ON TIME. At that point, she told us that she could only take one of us even though they were taking walk-ins during the same time. We questioned why our appointments were not being honored and they stated it was something to do with that we did not arrive 15 minutes before the start of our appointments so we left. Once we were in the car, I called the owner to complain and he started SCREAMING AT ME and would not let me say one word and then he hung up. I was STUNNED. Absolutely the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE and NO RESPECT FOR HIS CUSTOMERS! Please DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON - I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Great service, very clean! Made an appointment at this salon for four (three adults getting gel manis and regular pedicures, 1 child with regular mani/pedi). They asked that we arrive 10 minutes prior to our appointment. We were taken right away. Lots of polish options. All 4 of the technicians we had were very friendly. The male owner could not be more rude - I will address that at the end. It amazes me how other reviews rave about how clean it is. Yes, appearance wise, it seems clean. But the nail techs DO NOT follow standard protocol of cleaning their stations in between clients. It is rare that you even see a nail tech wash their hands thoroughly BETWEEN EACH client. EVERY station should be wiped down with a disinfectant cleanser & hands washed thoroughly between each client. This is not that time consuming & should be standard practice. Think about what they are doing to your nails each time you go......don't you want a clean station & clean hands working on you?? Each client should also be asked to wash their hands thoroughly on arrival as well. The dip manicure........how many other clients fingers have been dipped into that jar of color before you??? This salon is not up to infection protection standards at all. I have been to other salons where the dip is poured into a separate container for each client then the left over dip is disposed of immediately. THAT is what SHOULD be happening. The male owner is just PLAIN RUDE on the phone; RUDE to new clients walking in. A woman came in during my manicure & did not have cash - she chose not to pay the fee at the ATM in the salon & went next door to Shaw's to obtain cash. The male owner told her before she left that they could do a gel manicure for her. When she returned, the male owner then told her "other people came in & we can't do it now." The woman left upset - he could have booked the appt for her to hold her place - but he didn't. Then he spoke very unkindly of her after she left & loudly stated "this is MY business, if you don't like the way I run it, don't come in!!" How nice for the other customers sitting there. The whole salon was silent. I will never return. It is not the first time I witnessed him being rude to walk in clients or clients on the phone. People PUT UP with it because he has wonderful staff that do a great job. Why they stay with the truly HOSTILE environment he creates is beyond me. I simply choose NOT to put up with it any longer. First rule in business, treat your customers like you want to be treated. I have been a business owner for over 20 years & if any employee of mine treated any customer like that, they would be IMMEDIATELY apologizing to the client, then brought in for customer service training & hopefully learn a valuable lesson from the experience. News flash to the owner, if YOU don't like your job or dealing with the public, which you obviously don't - do your staff & clients a favor & either A - take this review like a professional & learn from it or B - let your spouse run the business & maybe you find another job that brings you happiness & pleasure - I don't think the business you are in brings you either. read more

The owner of this place is an angry man with the worst manners towards most people. This has been my go-to place for dip powder for years. Some of the techs here are very talented. It has always been a double edged sword in this place. While they do good nails, I have finally decided to try other places on the Cape. Forget walking in. I have never seen Andy accept a walk-in. You need an appointment for everything. Last month, after years of being a customer, I was scolded for being 4 minutes late and told he was about to give away my appointment. Have your color picked out ahead of time. He gets annoyed if you take time browsing colors. Forget requesting a particular tech. You get whomever Andy wants you to get. He does not allow booking dip and gel appointmets in the morning no matter how far ahead of time. The prices have gone up. He is an absolute copy of Seinfeld's "Soup N@zi" only it's not funny. If you care about being treated with respect and appreciation for your business, this is not the place. It is no longer worth my dignity to continue to give away my afternoons and be interacted with as though they have done me a huge favor by doing my nails. NOTHING is indespensible. There is somewhere on Cape Cod where one can get a decent manicure and not be mistreated. Andy needs some remedial classes in basic interaction. My 4 year old has better manners. Shame on him and shame on me for ever putting up with his nonesense in the name of a manicure. UPDATE: Fashion Nails on Route 134 in South Dennis is great. It takes 1/2 the time and is actually fun! All walk-ins were welcomed. Appointments accepted. Diverse clientelle - men and women - all ages, sizes and colors. The techs are lively and kind. It reminded me of the salons in New York City. The response from "Zota" is hilarious! So now block out even more of your day. If you have an appointment plan to get there 10 minutes early!? I am very bummed to be writing this. I have been coming to this salon since they opened. Recently I had to change my appointment last minute due to an emergency at work. I was going with my mom and because I was dealing with work she had to call and try to change the reservation, she was greeted with a very rude man on the other line. As a business owner, we understand last minute cancellations aren't ideal, but neither are work emergencies. He talked down to my mother, lectured her about changing the appointment, and in the end lost the business of two manicures and pedicures, for this appointment and forever. The man manager/owner has zero people skills. I called in the morning, he said he could fit me in if I hurried ... I hurried. When I got there he told me he would not do my nails because I had gel and powder on my nails (6 nails had no gel at all, that's why I needed a manicure) he said he did not do powder . I told him I did not want powder , just gel!! The soak off for gel and powder are the same. I told him I could take what was left on my nails off myself, he told me to go to the parking lot and do it there!! I left in disbelief. However, I had to go back in and tell him about himself and his awful customer service. I don't know where this guy got his people skills but they suck. Avoid this place at all costs. I recently visited to get a pedicure (that was beyond sub-par) and the employee spilled nail polish remover on my brand new sneakers. Rather than apologizing and offering to make it right in some way, the rude and confrontational staff claimed no wrongdoing and accused me of coming into the salon with my (fairly expensive) shoes already damaged (not possible). Finally, they agreed to refund the cost of my pedicure. I understand accidents happen, and a simple "I'm sorry" and gift card for future service would have gone a long way to remedy the situation. I have to admit I was referred to the Fresh Nail Bar by the hotel staff I was staying at but I was very disappointed with my visit. I took my friend there as a congratulation for passing her nursing boards and was basically hackled the entire time by the two females that were taking care of our manicures and pedicures to the point that we BOTH commented to them that we knew they were talking about us and we asked if they would stop and proceeded to look over at their manager and STILL proceeded to laugh and think it was funny. Since moving here in May I haven't found a nail salon I loved, they either weren't clean, made me feel rushed, or didn't have dip powder. Well thank God for Fresh Nail Bar opening because they have everything I want in a nail spa. Andy and Tammy were wonderful. It is beautiful inside, clean, smells great. They have a hospital grade sterilizer, liners in the pedi tubs, new file, pumice stone and buffers with every client. The pedicure was just what I needed. Great massage, hot paraffin wax, hot towels etc. They have tons of colors to choose from too. But probably the reason I am so in love, they have the dip powder, with 100's of colors for me to choose from. No exaggeration!! (Big in Florida since moving here this is only the 3rd place I've found that has it, but the others only had a few colors.) I will definitely be returning! I'm really torn on this and don't like leaving less than glowing reviews, but here I am up at 5 am with my nails throbbing in pain. I should've stopped this service when it started. Nail drills on natural nails is a huge red flag. It just shouldn't be done and as a licensed nail tech, I should've said something. It was very painful and still is a day later. My nail tech messed up applying product and instead of repairing, she decided to file one of my long nails down to a misshapen nub... when I asked her to fix the shape, she did and then completely skipped filing the other whole hand.. like she was mad that I said something and just skipped it.. it was very obviously misshapen on one whole hand and there's zero chance it was just overlooked. They look somewhat good, but I can't work today because my hands are throbbing. I can't say I'll go back. read more
