But I felt better when the groomer didn't flinch when I showed him a picture of what I wanted my daughter's goldendoodle's cut to look like. This review is only for the fish store portion. I'm not sure what happened to this place but do NOT come here anymore if you're looking for fish or aquarium supplies. This used to be our top rated fish store in the south bay and we finally made our first visit of 2025 and it was horrible inside. Every single fish tank was half empty and had a thick layer of algae on the glass. They used to have beautiful tanks and everything was so well taken care of but something must've happened because there are spider webs everywhere, dust on everything, tanks in disrepair, and the selection of fish and care of the fish have gone down the drain. Unfortunate, they were the last good fresh water fish store in the south bay too. read more

I have the curliest boy who's pretty high maintenance. Since my dog's a Bichon, his hair gets really curly as they grow long and it ends up getting matted. I took him to fresh pets recently, and they did a pretty good job with giving him a winter cut. I'm removing 1 star from the rating because it took over 5 hours to get him back. read more

Don't be discouraged with the fish and reptiles when you first walk in because they have an amazing groomer in the back for your pups, Mike. Been coming here to get my pups nails trimmed, and this time around was my first time getting them groomed and all I can say is that Mike and Phat have amazing customer service very friendly set of brothers, and once in awhile you'll see an elder Asian lady I believe it's their mother or grandmother in there helping out and she's the sweetest! I 100% recommend this place to all my friends and family and really anyone who is looking for a local, family owned groomer/pet store. This store was amazing when first opened now it's unbearable.. by that I mean the smell . It reaks of dog urine but strong ammonia smell making it impossible to shop ! they have the front door closed instead of letting it air out. The heat was intense that both clerks were sweating. What happened?! This used to be the place I would recommend for grooming and fish as they did have a nice selection but has gone down hill. Will update if I see a change. read more

*Highly Recommend* I was trying to look for a grooming ASAP. I called and Fresh Pets and Grooming was not available on Saturday (which was the same day I called) but said they were available for tomorrow, Sunday early. I always have a hard time trying to book a grooming for our Goldendoodle but we were able to get in ASAP! Mike was great!! He took care of our Khaki (goldendoodle). He looks and feels alot better! This is my first time visiting Fresh Pets and Grooming, and it's the only store I'm going to go to when it comes to purchasing pets. They have a huge selection of pets ranging of aquatic turtles, freshwater fish, saltwater fish, frogs, geckos, snakes, loaches, crayfish, chameleons, anything and everything. If there's a fish you want but they don't have they will get it for you! I've been looking for a variety of goldfish and went from Petco to Petsmart for the fish to be sick with poor water quality, coming here every fish was well taken care of and ranged from variety to color of all sorts of fish. My daughter is an aquarist who happily discovered this unassuming but great little pet store gem one day when needing a birthing tank for her baby fish. The guys are very knowledgeable and have everything she needs for her hobby. I am very happy with the grooming department. Finally found someone who does a great job and is reasonable price wise. I kind of hate to say too much about this because they usually get me in within a few days and I know once the word spreads, those time spots will fill up faster. Lastly, Phat and Mike are kind, responsive and knowledgeable. They took great care of my pup,he came out so fresh and clean. Great job on his nails and they were even nice enough to include a complimentary flea dip after seeing a flea or 2. The only groomers that can trim my dog's nail. It's gotten to a point where my vet suggested I put her on medication to chill her out so that they can trim her nails. A bit nervous at first but after picking up max, I came to a realization that I finally found my new GO-TO groomer. Mike was very professional, nurturing and informative. Max has a skin condition where he is extremely sensitive towards certain shampoo, he made sure to go over whatever he was going to use on max to ensure there wouldn't be any complication. Afterwards, he had told me max has an ear infection and told me what kind of medication I should purchase. Unlike other groomers, they'd just send you your dog back off and never tell ya a thang. I am torn about writing up a review here. This unassuming little store has got a great groomer in Mike. I don't want word to get out that Mike does great work and is reasonably priced. Mike is friendly and has mad skills. Give him time to work his magic and you'll be happy. I brought in our two Yorkies (like 8 and 10 lbs) and he took them from "Homeless" looking to Dog Show Quality. This wasn't easy because we tend to let our dogs' hair get longer during the cold winter months. Hands down. all their fish tanks is not like the ordinary aquarium store where its just bare and have all the fish.. all tanks are scaped and decorated accordingly to make fish comfortable and feel at home. Anyway, this place caught my eye due to great reviews here. And this place didn't disappoint. They were friendly and accommodated my immediate need as my boy's hair was chopped up by my sister...
