They don't devein their shrimp. It takes two mins to devein the shrimp they put in their shrimp chicken and steak quesadilla. Sure, it won't kill you to eat it the way it is but the vein carries residue of what shrimps eat (mud sand etc). Most places remove it cause they have some decency. read more

Years ago, when the Ridgewood movie theater was still up, I decided to walk in after hearing so much about it from my cousin. It was a bit weird walking in and seeing Asians in what I thought would be a Tex-Mex spot. I ordered and waited.... I got my food and sat down. I bit into my 99cent burrito (made with chicken or steak back in the days not beans!!) and as I looked up, I caught a glimpse of sour cream in the corner of my mouth in the mirror. LOL! This place is frigging awesome! From the fries and nuggets, the OVERSTUFFED dinner burritos, the quesadillas, down to the fajita bowls, it's good! Small, yes but so what?! I order out when I can, but 99% of the time I order for delivery. If you want ULTRA FAST delivery, tell them to let "the guy with the glasses" deliver your food (a trick my cousin taught me lol). Most of the delivery men ask for tips and might make you feel uncomfortable, but there's one or two who just don't care. They're website: www.freshtaco.com lets you see their online menu and gives you the number to both their sites. Crazy thing, if you want, they even offer catering service. If you're ever in the Ridgewood/Bushwick area and are tired of all the McDonald's and Burger Kings, you should DEFINITELY visit and spend the same $6+ on a better, more fulling meal. Fresh Taco is an amazing Tex-Mex style taco joint. I order from here once a week. The portions are huge, the prices are cheap, and the flavors are unreal. The steak tacos are the best, followed by the chicken, and then the black bean. Some of the other random items (like the cheese fries) are surprisingly great, too. This hole in the wall has Asians making Tex-Mex food but the food is good and you can't beat the super low prices. They also have specials you can use on every order (free taco when you order $10 min, free quesadilla with $15 min, etc.) and the portions are ginormous!! The only dish I get is the large steak burrito because it will keep me full for hours. The entire burrito engulfs the size of its Styrofoam container and is packed with lots of well-seasoned crispy grilled steak with peppers and loads of rice plus all the other additions of a burrito. You can hardly close it up to eat it but once you do you'll be couch locked. What's great about this place is that you can see your food being cooked once you order. read more

This place makes delicious food. The proportions are generous and selection is good. The flat-bread they use is very sturdy, but soft. The food is also not very greasy. This means that tacos stay together and there's no big mess. I have yet to find a better Mexican place in NY. read more

The chicken and steak taco use to have flavor but not anymore. Not only was it flavorless but they grilled the meat so much that it was heavily charred. Okay, I must concur with people's review of this not being an authentic Mexican/Taco place, but c'mon what do you expect its owned and run by Asians!!! So yeah its not gonna be that same taco that you'll get at a Mexican place but its still damned good. I've had their quesadillas, tacos and fajitas which are made with some sort of fresh bread that is so YUMMY...like I said they're menu resembles Mexican food but its really not, they're heavy on veggies (like the fajita) and light on the spices(pretty much non existent), which caters to me just fine...I think they're Burrito meals(not to be confused with the 99¢ burrito, which is just a taco with chicken and vegtables) are not only delicious but pretty cheap like 4 to 5 bucks for a descent portion. I use to love this place, but now I can't stand it. The portions have gotten smaller and mediocre, the prices have surged on their menu and add hidden fees for everything, add guacamole it's going to cost 1.25 extra( a tiny container, seriously like a pinch,don't expect chipotle amount) (they even charge for sour cream LOL) and last the quality sucks now. The food doesn't fill you up, I shouldn't have to pay for 10 worth of food and still be hungry. I always ask for the price and laugh, and lately canceled every order because the price doesn't compare with the food. I understand the restaurant has to pay the workers, ingredients... etc but they should compensate with better portions if they're picking up prices for every little thing. read more
