The food is decent, especially for the price but the staff is HORRENDOUS. I live a few blocks from this place and delivery never takes under 30 minutes, usually it's an hour atleast (for two people's food no less) They take forever to answer the phone, if they do at all. There's a 50/50 shot that they will forget something you ordered and/or send you the wrong stuff that isn't even labeled. Never had a issue with fresh taco until today. I called and asked was my delivery on the way and she told me they didnt start making it yet. I said i called 20 mins ago and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience she started screaming it only been 20 minutes. Then ignored me and started to talk in her language. The customer service is disgusting! I placed my order at 7....it came at 7:45 and wasn't what I ordered. I called back and the lady said I asked for what was given which I didn't obviously. She had the nerve to tell me to go in person to bring the food back! We were back and forth on the phone for 15mins (constantly putting me on hold and picking up other calls) after all that time she said ok we are gonna to send your order. This place has been around since the early 90s. We used to order from there all the time when I worked in the area, and the food was typical Chinese made Tex-Mex food. Fast foward a decade or so and i found myself in my old stomping grounds. Immediately I said, Oh, Fresh Taco and headed over there. I got nachos with the chili beef and a steak quesadilla. The nachos were disgusting. It seems like they put the cheese on the bottom and then the beans and then the chili beef... that had been sitting in oil and probably plopped on the chips using a ladle not a slotted spoon, so all of the grease had soaked the chips. The first few top chips were edible, but the rest was a mushy pile of crap. The steak quesadilla was oily too. The tortillas used were waaaay too think and resulted in a small quesadilla. I am so glad that i have found better tex mex places to get my fix from. IMHO, Fresh Taco is just not it anymore. read more

I've been ordering from this restaurant for many years and never had a problem. Today I decide to order from here because I haven't ordered from this restaurant in several months. I will NEVER order from here again!! The person who took my order was new, so she took my order incorrectly. When I realized that she seemed confused, I asked if the menu had change because I've been ordering the same thing for years, to which she replied "sorry, I'm just new here". About 10 minutes after placing my order, I get a missed call from the restaurant asking that I call back regarding my order. Yes, it took me 10 minutes to see that I had missed a call but as soon as I did, I called them back. The person I spiked to told me "don't worry, your order was fixed now". When I finally get my order, I realize that they sent me something completely different from what I asked! When I called the restaurant to tell them that my order was wrong, they first tried to tell me basically "sorry we messed up but since we're really busy, can you just eat it anyway?" When I told them I wanted them to send me what I paid for, they tried to tell me, oh we tried calling you but you didn't respond immediately so they already made the wrong order and we sent it to you. After much back and forth, the restaurant finally agreed to send me the right meal. When I called after waiting for an hour, they told me that my food was still at the restaurant & they didn't know when I would get it since the driver wasn't back. Almost 2 hours later I finally get my food and guess what... MY ORDER IS STILL WRONG!!! I know this is just a tex-next restaurant and not authentic but there is still a little something called customer service! Never again!! read more

I have lived in Ridgewood 19 years and me and my family always order from this place. We always get fast delivery, yummy food for cheap prices compared to all the other places around here with rising prices because of hipsters moving in. They are a Chinese owned Tex-mex restaurant, it's not traditional Mexican food, but boy do they cook good food. They're spicy sauce that comes with practically anything you order is soooooo Damm good. Also did I mention they make fresh flour tortillas, yes I said Fresh, and they are the bomb. Com. Soft grilled chicken taco are my usual, they never dissapoint. I also almost always order a side order of Guacamole, which is also really good. I have had there paella special that includes seafood chicken and steak, not traditional, but so yummy. Also things that I love to order on regular basis are fried shrimp nachos come with decent amount of well seasoned fried shrimp melted gooey cheese beans jalapeños on top of fresh tortilla chips. As well as any tostada salad that comes in a fresh crispy homemade flour tortilla bowl, yumssss. Oh and please try grilled chicken cilantro soup which I ask for with noodles. Hands down this place makes really good no no no...... Amazingly yummy food for a fraction of the price you would pay anywhere else in Ridgewood, even the Mexican food trucks are more expensive than this place. Cmon people try it so worth it. read more

Use to get delivery from this place, and sometimes, (more than rare) the food was cold. So had that feeling for a chimichanga, so I took a ride. Don't get it confused with the spot across the street. place is kinda small and the wait was kinda long, and I was the only one in there. Had the chimichanga special with a chicken quesadilla. had the quesadilla immediately, was nice and fresh, chicken was just about right and freshly cooked. The dough was a bit overcooked, and dark brown mostly. the chimichanga, as always, was on the money. the chicken, steak, and shrimp all cooked right and staying nice and hot inside, the cheese melted on top, rice and beans on the side, and just knowing I have two of them, :-D. . they also give you a cucumber, tomato salad which is pretty good. can't comment on the condiments, cus I don't eat those. but until I find that authentic mexican chimichanga, ill keep getting these. read more

I've ordered from here numerous times through out the years and I'm done with this place. Tonight I argued with the driver and someone on the phone from this location. The delivery man refused to come inside the building and ring our bell. So I got on the phone with the lady taking orders and she tells me "only the Spanish guy goes inside", WTF? I never had an issue with any of the delivery guys coming inside the building before. If something happened and the guy doesn't feel safe, say that, don't blame it on the cops handing out tickets for double parking. The best Mexican food you can get in Ridgewood. My brother and I usually order from Fresh Taco if we stay up late watching shows on netflix. I always get the chicken quesadilla with a chicken and steak burrito. It comes in a box with rice and beans and sour cream, guacamole and lettuce. I am also addicted to the hot sauce. I don't know what they put in the sauce, but I am amazed. The hot sauce on the quesadilla is amazing. I can't describe the taste, but the chicken and steak burrito with the sauce together is like heaven in your mouth. They also have tacos, which are pretty good. They are not as good as quesadillas though. I usually have them deliver to my house, and it comes within 10 to 25 minutes. Delivery service is pretty decent. Food is fresh and warm when it gets here. i do like there food, there burrito im not really a fan though, instead of a full burrito wrap you get this thick breaded thing and it look more like a giant taco, but there food is good, if you want a full fledged burrito head to the original happy fresh taco they make burritos better actually, only thing i like about this place the most is the delivery time is a bit shorter, there are a few difference between fresh taco and the original happy fresh taco, the one main thing i notice is the burrito's, happy fresh taco make them better, and the fajitas also, like i mention before the wrappings look and taste more like a heavy layer of bread which for diabetic seriously spike the sugar on its own, i should know i tried it and after eating it my sugar jump from 102 to 215 in 30 mins, so now i stay away from fresh taco burritos lol, but the rest of the food is delicious. stay away from cheese nachos just like happy fresh taco there not so great. your better off with store bought nacho and cheese wiz lol. read more
