Was happy to find a "healthy" meal option on my 3-hr layover at the Denver airport. It was only 9am when I ordered so I assumed (wrongly) that Freshens Fresh would deliver the most fresh product first thing in the morning. I eat Thai chicken salads a lot at a variety of places but sadly this was quite literally the worst I've ever had, even after lowering my expectations a bit automatically for airport food. First off, the facilities were clean but the service was very mechanical. Only one person ahead of me in line. The order came up very quickly and I brought it to the gate to eat. Imagine sitting in public at the gate eating then having to pull some parts of the salad out of my mouth because there were several things in there that were inedible. The cucumber came as small unpeeled cubes which is fine if they're fresh and tender but the peels on some of them were thick and fibrous and unchewable. Also there were a couple other unidentified really tough white pieces of something, don't know if they inadvertently chopped up the core and stem of the cabbage to add into the salad. The chicken was hard to find being very small squares of generic looking and generic tasting commercial food service meat cubes, not hand-pulled or sliced off of a freshly cooked chicken which I expected, and the carrots were the same that you'd find pre-shredded in a plastic bag at a chain grocery store. I was hungry and did get a few decent bites of rice and lettuce. The dressing was advertised as "peanut free" and I had thought it was worth a try but really it was only a mildly spicy soy sauce with very little Thai about it. The salad did have the ingredients that it said were supposed to be in there, but not the quality, flavor, or care in preparation. My definition of "fresh" was not in their dictionary. read more

I haven't had Freshens in forever since I moved. The service was great & expedient. The counter was clean and had a modern vibe. The menu offerings were far more than just smoothies. Damn! I should have read reviews before ordering. I tried a PB protein smoothie. First issue is that the straws they provide are WAY too small and thin for both the drink and the tight opening in the lid which ends up squeezing the straw. Second, when I finally found the one employee who could speak English (she's the one with silver teeth), and both explained and demonstrated the straw issue to her, she laughed at me, like it was my fault. I embarrassingly walked away. Third, the smoothie was the absolute worst tasting. I don't know what they used, but the flavor and aftertaste was horrible. I ultimately threw it out and now regret leaving a tip. I will never visit nor recommend this place. read more

This is a very busy location at the top of Terminal A in the Denver Airport. Jamba Juice is located in Terminal B. I wanted a protein smoothie. There was a long line and growing At Freshens. The line moves fast. It lacked hospitality. Greeting was nice but no connection. Only transactional. Even when they call your number, it's a drop and go. They don't even wait to see who's grabbing the orders. My Peanut Butter Smoothie tasted different. I'm thinking it was the protein. It burned my tongue while drinking it. Different from what I've ever tasted. I went to take it back but the line was longer than originally so I just tossed it after the picture. Grabbed an apple juice for the flight. read more

Eh, I wish I checked the reviews on here before I got the crepe. Food: Got the Egg White Florentine crepe. The egg whites were like rubbery powder egg bits with no salt or flavor. The cheese and raw spinach were cold and there were wayyy too much bacon bits. Nothing was melted in so if I were to tip it on accident, all ingredients would fall out in crumbles. The crepe was literally already made from a bag heated up on a circular metal grill/stove. Freshly-made crepe wrap as the name Freshens implies - it was not. My kids (now 7&9) love this place. It's our favorite food spot at the Denver Airport and we always come here when we have a layover. The smoothies are delicious and the crepes are yummy. They accidentally put dressing on my crepe but corrected it and it was fantastic. It tasted super fresh! My kids always ask which airport we are having our layover at and if it's Denver, they ask to come here. I was worried that it was gone but it was just kind of hidden by the construction over there. The Bangin Berry smoothie from Freshens "Fresh Food" studio resulted in the most sinister experience of my life. DIA already has a diabolical energy, but this was the cherry on top. While flying frontier airlines I had the most unbecoming feeling, hot sweat began to drip down my back. The stuffy plane didn't help this feelings, though soon after boarding the air kicked on and the plane started to become cold, which at first was a relief. Though my body temperature did not reflect that as sweat continued to drip down my face and the rest of my body. I realized there was only one outcome of this, I was going to vomit. And that is exactly what happened, I threw up all over my favorite hoodie which i had NO CHOICE but to throw away after my flight. Stopped for lunch prior my flight yesterday since I arrived to the airport very early and was very hungry. I got the roadhouse bbq chicken salad and loved every bite of it. After having a very sweet breakfast, this was exactly what I needed. I ended up breaking the crepe that comes with the salad in pieces and mixing it in with the rest of it since it was very crunchy which made the salad even tastier.
