It's better than any farmer's market in the area. Freshfield Farms near Michigan Street and Delaney has a tantalizing array of fruits and vegetables. Will you find the most exotic varieties here? Maybe or maybe not, but the selection is ample, fresh and inviting. I was happy to see that Freshfield offers cage-free eggs; but beware, not everything is less expensive here. I've bought cage-free eggs at the nearby Target at SoDo for thirty cents less. What causes Freshfield Farms to deserve a four-star rating from this writer? The tomatoes: red, big and delicious. I could have dined on their tomatoes alone this evening. I've never seen tomatoes this beautiful at Publix. read more

I come here regularly and stock up on meats and veggies. Veggies tend to be a hit or miss (Aldi's is far cheaper if you are looking for cheap) , but the meat is worth it for the drive times a million. Their meat is fresh and incredibly priced. I'm talking around 2$ a pound for skinless boneless chicken breasts. It is a bit far from my house, but my mom and I usually make a biweekly trip out of it and buy two weeks worth of meat (it does freeze well). They also have a small ice cream stop outside which is perfect for luring hubby to come with me and do all the lifting ;). Their prices are constantly changing so some flexibility is required which is fine by me. read more

Freshfields Farm was a bit of a let down. After reading reviews on Yelp I guess I expected more local stuff. Specifically I'd gone searching for local pasture raised beef and poultry. When I scanned the meat half of the store I saw nothing of the kind. When I asked an employee I was told that all of their beef is from Nebraska. That means feed lot cattle- no thanks. (Watch the documentary Food, Inc. and you'll understand). And like wine o. points out the beef is rated as Select which is why it is so cheap- it is of a lesser quality than most beef you'd find in, say, a Publix. I was more impressed with the produce half. They had tons of fresh fruits and vegetables- many of which were varieties that you don't see too often. Again I was hoping for more local and/or organic selections but they seemed pretty limited on that too. I'm not sure why the store is divided like it is, is it to keep meat and produce separate for some sanitation reason? Anyway, it would be a pain to have to go into two separate areas to shop and wait through two separate checkout lines. And btw, folks were right about the crowds- I was there at 1pm on a Monday and the place was crowded. I couldn't imagine a weekend!! Freshfields Farm has high quality meats and produce at great prices. I was amazed at their selection of fruits and vegetables. The product section is separated from the meats, you have to check out separately and walk to the other side. Essentially they are two separate stores under one roof. The best place to get meats and produce - and for an incredible value! Seriously, this is my go-to place for most of my meats. Consistently cheaper than Publix and fresher too. I do love Publix still, but when I can I go to Freshfields first. Also, they have ice cream and it's awesome! And cheap!! This is actually 2 different stores, one sells produce(aka fruits and vegetables) and the other sells meats. For some reason they have the stores totally separated with a tiny snack bar in between. The snack bar gives free ice cream to kids on most weekdays, they also have hot dogs and things of that sort. The meat side has a wide variety of meats, even some fish. Pigs feet, Hog Maws, Steaks, Pork, even gol'dang Chicken! The produce side has a good variety of fruits and vegetables(why do people write veg and veggies?, is it that much harder to write the whole word?) and even locally squeezed Orange Juice. I went today and they did not have cantaloupe which is what I wanted, whereas Publix did have it, shame on you Popps. Both sides seem to sell some cheeses, eggs and milk. I'm not sure of the prices are very cheap but I would guess it would be on par. I didn't study the prices very hard, but It think bananas were .69 cents a pound if that helps anybody. If the prices are higher I guess it's worth it to support your local Mom and Pop store. --- Went a second time and got a bunch of meat for cheap, Baby Back Ribs, Pork Tenderloin, Beef Ribs, 10 Chicken Drumsticks, 5 pack of bratwurst for $22. I guess that's a fair price, enough food to feed 5 Men and 10 women. They also had all kinds of other goodies I missed last time, Chitterlings, Turkey Necks, Pork Snouts. They don't take checks but they do take credit cards. The snack bar has a few unexpected specialties too, Butter Pecan and Bubble Gum, and other kinds of Soft Serve for $1.79 medium size. And they have Cooked Turkey Legs and Cherry Popcorn! read more

I can't live without this place, seriously. Their produce is absolutely beautiful and locally sourced when possible-- and half the price of Publix easily. On the Produce side, I purchased the following for under $15 today: 1/2 Pint Raspberries 1/2 Pint Blackberries 5 Bananas 2 Sweet Onions 3 Zucchini 1 Package of Organic Baby Spinach 2 Apples 2 Packages of Sliced Mushrooms The Produce side also offers local cage-free eggs and local orange juice-- huge plus! The Meat side smells amazing when you walk in-- makes me hungry just thinking about it. The have lots of cuts that Publix and Wal-Mart don't carry in addition to the day to day stuff at about 2/3 the price of Publix. (3 good sized chicken breasts were $5.50) Random: if you feed your pets a homemade raw diet, this is the place to get those cuts of meat. You can get chicken feet, bones, livers, hearts, etc. All of the things you need to grind up for pet food! The only drawback is having to check out twice. The Produce side in particular is a zoo on weekends and a bit of a pain to navigate towards the check out area. read more

I wish I knew about this place earlier than last week. I now only get my perishables here. I've only had the chicken and shrimp as I don't eat red meat but they taste great and are way more affordable than our local pricey grocery. The fruit is amazing. It's better than grocery stores, so it must be magic. I swear everything tastes better and sweeter. The value is also amazing, so if you're on a budget this is the place to go. It does get pretty busy and there's not a lot of room to walk around, so that's the only drawback but hardly something negative enough to leave anything but a 5 star review. read more

Looking for reasonably priced produce, meats and cheeses? Look no further than Freshfields Farms! This little grocer is the cheapest I've found in Orlando and has high quality produce that is often locally sourced. The items are all clearly marked so that you know the country of origin. They update a large hanging sign at the entrance of the produce section letting you know which items are locally grown and which items are organic. The meat and cheese section is in the adjoining building and uses the same concept. In between the produce and meat buildings is a cute little ice cream stand. The soft serve that never fails to disappoint. The only real downside is the variety; you might have to stop somewhere else to get everything you need depending on your grocery list. The space overall is small and often crowded but it's worth it. The staff is always friendly and the checkout lines move quickly making it a great place to pick up your main groceries. read more

You want fresh produce!? You GOT fresh produce! Not to mention variety too! We are talking about locally grown fruits and vegetables to items like mangoes straight from Peru. The fruit and vegetables look delicious and the prices are great. When you combine good variety with fair prices you are bound to find success and I truly feel that is what this place is about. The line for ice cream was ridiculous and I decided to opt out on that and head straight into the meat section of the place. There is a section for each type of meat ranging from fish, to choice cuts of steak and lamb. I was able to stock up on: Chicken Breast Ground Turkey Pork Chops Scotch tender steak Drumsticks All for $17! Think about how easily you spend $20 going out to eat and then think about how many times you could eat spending less than that here. We won't even get into the fruits and vegetables. Mega savings there as well. I hope to come back here and stock up on good, green, healthy food. Last night I sauteed some of the zucchini I bought and it made for an excellent evening snack. 5 stars! I miss this place so so SO much. I still stop by whenever I'm in the area and in the mood to cook a good steak. If you're familiar with the Fort Lauderdale area, this is Orlando's version of Penn Dutch. For those not familiar with either, it's a local-run grocery/meat market that has ridiculously low prices. How low? You can get a thick, monster-sized New York strip steak for a third of the price at any grocery store. It's the absolute, hands down best place to shop if you're planning a cookout. It's setup like this: on one side, there's a meat market, run outside that and right next to it, on the other side of the building, separated only by a little snack stand that serves delicious turkey legs, is the produce department. The meat market is packed with amazing deals -- you can get 20 fryer legs or wings or any part of a chicken for super cheap. The butcher's counter is a gleaming altar of amazing selections at rock-bottom prices. Thick, juicy steaks, a majority of which are raised on a farm not too far from the market, are stacked high behind the glass. There's often a line to get your order in, but it's well worth the wait. The produce section often has a lot of locally grown food, but you don't pay out the nose for it. It's a little bit bigger than the meat section, and they always have a lot of variety that changes almost every time you go. The only drawbacks to this place is that it's kind of small. And it's always packed, and I do mean always. The parking is kind of crazy, too, but this is all overshadowed by the quality and the fantastic deals. If you haven't been and you like super fresh ingredients, then I heartily recommend checking it out. read more

It's a local Fruit-Veg and Butcher shop that has only gotten better over the years. The merchandise is better than Publix and is as good as their nearest fruit and veg specialty markets. Their meats are good and they have added premium meats as well, prices are fair, but not cheap as reflected in quality. Tonight, its rare roast beef, real turkey breast as well as sweet serrano ham all from the Freshfields Farm. Don't park in the lot, there are adequate parking on the streen that borders the market, much safer and easier. Everything moves fast so the goods are fresh and checkingout is a marvel of time and efficience, which they did not have until the last year, it works great, in and out. read more

Freshfields is my favorite grocery store. We make a lot of vegetable juice in my family, so this is the perfect place to stock up on the organic kale, carrots, and apples to make juice. Juicing can get expensive fast, and it is important to use quality ingredients, so we go out of our way to go to Freshfields. I love that when you enter the produce side there is a sign with the current local and organic produce. They have an excellent variety of produce here. I can always find everything on my list, plus some extras. This past weekend I picked up a dragon fruit and a package of rambutan. Stuff you would never see at Publix. After produce I usually go over to the meat side. They also have everything you need. I'm not as familiar with different cuts of meat as I am with produce, so on the meat side I always seem to need help finding the items on my list. There are always people restocking and they are extremely helpful. And always pick up a package of bacon, it is awesome. Prices on both sides are better than the grocery store chains (especially for organic) and easily make up for the gas it takes me to get over here. Since they just sell meat and produce, you will need to go to a regular store to get the items they don't carry. That can really add time onto your shopping schedule, but to me it's worth it. As I'm sure the other reviews have already explained it is really two different shops, produce to the left, meat to the right, with a small concession stand in the center. You have to checkout and pay separately at each shop. This is an unusual layout but it's not particularly inconvenient. The lines are usually pretty short so I don't mind having to checkout twice. read more

Woohoo! I hit the jackpot when I came here. And so far, I have brought three other people here and I'm aiming for more recruits. Although this place can get crowded and it can be hard to navigate, fighting through the throng is worth it. Of course, you could always come during off hours. So my Aunt and myself arrived at the Farmers Market an hour early to find out the clocks have been set back. (Great) When we entered into the parking lot there was only about 4 cars including us in the parking lot because they weren't open just yet. We left for an hour and came back and the place was PACKED! People were lined up at the door, in the parking lot, everyone was scrambling for a parking spot! Honestly I had no clue why these people were lined up like this until I got inside.. Only 15 minutes of them opening they had to have had at least 80-100 people in there ducking and diving for fruits and vegetables as if they were about to run out and this was the last source of food on the planet. Anyways the quality of the food is absolutely stupendous! Everything is fresh (Vegetables, Fruits, Seasonings etc) straight off the truck. Not only is the quality of the food great the prices are fantastic, we filled out cart up and I was expecting a $200 bill to return from the cashier to only end up paying $80 (Somewhere in that area of $80-$85) for everything: 3 lemons 1 head of broccoli 2 bags of spinach 2 bags of apples 4 half gallons of lemonade 3 packs of meat (Out of their meat department) 3 bags of carrots 2 onions 5 bananas pack of seedless grapes and a few other things that aren't coming to mind at the moment but I'm sure you all get the gist of it all! I would highly highly highly recommend anyone looking for the highest quality fruits/vegetables and meats to come here, I promise you will not leave unsatisfied! But I warn you! About a year ago, a friend told me about Freshfields Farm and I can't believe it took me so long to learn about it!! Located off Michigan near SODO, this little market is great. It is split into two sides; one for produce and one for meats, plus a little refreshment booth with drinks and soft serve ice cream in between. It is a bit inconvenient to have to go through two different check out areas if you're shopping for both produce and meats, which is why I'm only giving FF a 4 star rating. Beware, if you're going to FF, get there early, and expect a large crowd. If you go at the end of the day, their selection is definitely picked through. I'll start with the produce side: The prices really can't be beat, which is half the draw of this place for me. I tend to spend half as much money on produce when I shop here, and get twice as much as when I shop at Publix or Whole Foods. Sometimes their selection is smaller than what you'd find at Publix or Whole foods, but their produce is always fresh, with organic options for some of their products. They usually only have 2-3 varieties of apples, so occasionally I'm disappointed by the lack of whatever type of apple I'm craving, but I don't let that bother me too much. On the meat side, they have it divided up with large cooler cases for each type of meat. Beef, poultry, pork, seafood, etc. Their prices are great; very reasonable, and way less than what I pay at Publix. Last time I went, I got lamb chops for less than $5/lbs!! I usually pick up bacon, steaks and chicken breasts when I go, spending about $20 for 2 weeks worth of meat (it should be noted that I am generally just shopping for myself, rather than shopping for me + a family/partner/group). The meat section also has a counter where they have sliced lunch meats and cheeses, plus some of their "fancier" cuts of meat. I've never bought seafood from FF, so not sure on how that is, but I've never been disappointed with their meats. Overall, I love FF. I wish it was a bit closer to where I live, but when I'm in the area I try to hit it up and stock up on foods for a couple weeks. The crowds can get overwhelming, and the parking lot fills up FAST, but generally I find it worth going!! read more

Ok-no one has addressed the gorilla in the room....so I will address the smell issue just to give everyone who hasn't gone the reality. Let me start with the fact I shop here and will continue to do so. There is a meat side and a produce side. The meat side: it smells!!!! Sort of a cooked, funky smell. Not a rotten Casey Anthony trunk smell or anything like that. Just be prepared though for the smell. Great deals on chicken, pork, lunch meat, cheese,etc. Also, if you are searching for those hard to find items like rabbit and chicken feet-they usually have those also. The produce side: they have upgraded this side and it doesn't smell. No fancy organics-I don't wanna pay for them anyway but lots of ethnic veggies, eggs, garlics, spices and plenty of it. Pre-packaged berries here-the same publix sells-are usually $1 cheaper a package. Both sides: if you go anytime on a saturday it's bound to be PACKED!!! Neither side is big. You will save money here and it is easy and convenient to get in and out! read more

I will never shop at Publix EVER again. The produce & fruit are SO fresh. The meats, seafood, and chicken are excellent and so cost efficient. When friends complain that it's so expensive to "eat healthy", I let them know all about Freshfields. You don't need to pay extra for customer service at large grocery stores because the team at FF are just as friendly. A friend mentioned that they like how "clean" Publix's are, but the only thing I've noticed is that in produce there can be some stuff here and there on the floor. Nothing's ever been unappealing or dirty when it comes to the actual produce. read more

Freshfields was a staple for my family before we moved to SoCal for a year. We would make the nearly weekly trip up from Celebration to buy our meats and produce for the week...and strawberry topped ice cream :) I started writing this review this past weekend after we stocked up on meat and produce. We have always loved this place and will continue to visit for produce. The variety is more than any market you will find in town, and everything is fresh and what you would want in your produce. The prices seem to have gone up since we visited last year, but I suppose that is life. I had originally started writing this review, then stopped, then picked back up again after I had a not so pleasant experience with some meat that I had purchased. I had at the time given the store a knock for this. I had purchased a lot of meat, and between the time I bought it and wanted to consume it...it had gone pretty bad. The management team had reached out to me privately to offer up apologies and try and correct the situation. While I was not about to accept any compensation (this could have gone bad for a number of reasons..), I am beyond blown away by the response and the service I received after my bad experience. This truly explains the story as of why this place is a five star establishment. They had even offered to provide ice for my cooler! While I was skeptical of returning for the meat, I think we will try again as this was the first time we had encountered any issues. BIG Kudos to the management team for jumping out to make things right. This is something that is lacking way too much in this world and was a true breath of fresh air. We will look forward to coming back many times in the future. We love to get our produce, break for hot dogs and ice cream (SOOO CHEAP!!!), then stock up on meat before the trek back home. read more

Since we try to do that healthy eating thing, the majority of our groceries is meat and produce. We also like to save money. Therefore, if you buy a lot of meat and produce and want it at reasonable prices, get thee hence to Freshfields Farm. Coming from a place where we had to make an hour's round trip to get to a halfway decent supermarket, the fifteen-minute drive to Freshfields is more than worth it to us. As others have noted, Freshfields has two separate buildings, one for produce (you can also get eggs, peanuts, honey and some grains here) and one for meats. The produce is a good mix of the ordinary and exotic--the dragon fruit beckons me--and organic stuff is always available. On the meat side, you can get grass-fed, organic, deli, whatever you need. The prices are GREAT, more often than not beating sale prices at the supermarkets, but that doesn't mean that quality suffers. It can get a little chaotic at times, but checking out is smooth and easy thanks to a video system letting you know when a cashier's available, and the employees are unfailingly efficient and friendly. I also like that the clientele is diverse, which means that people know a good thing when they see it--and Freshfields Farm is a very good thing. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. love. love. love. It's a healthy eater's dream come true. The produce section is amazing... (local, organic, fresh...) So is the meat section, but I get intimidated in there and usually default to chicken (antibiotic free, vegetarian fed chicken!) Oh, and they have Lake Meadows eggs! The variety, quality and prices are better than any other grocery store I've seen. I don't think I've ever spent more than $50 (on both sides) and I always leave with bags of groceries. And I love supporting such an awesome local business. I'm so glad I found this place in my neighborhood. I don't love the parking lot on a saturday afternoon.... It's helpful that they're open on Sundays now, and if necessary I will brave the crowds for my meat and veggies. Sidenote: I haven't tried it yet, but they have grassfed beef! After living in Delaney Park for 3 years, and regularly driving by Freshfields Farm on my way to the Publix across the street, I finally decided to check it out. I was very pleased. The produce section was neatly organized, with a large selection of fresh fruits/veggies. The pricing is very cheap, even for the organic options. In the meats section, they offer nearly every cut imaginable, and then some. Employees are quick to restock anything thats running low, and everything I have cooked from here has turned out wonderfully. Freshfields Farms has easily replaced Publix as my go-to store for meats and produce. read more

Freshfield Farms was recommended to my husband and I through a coworker of his at Lockheed Martin. We went because we were tired of super high prices at Publix and disgusting produce at Wal-Mart. We were really surprised at the wide variety of meats and produce this market provides. Apparently alot of other people love it too because it's always crowded especially on the weekends. Not to mention (and this is in NO WAY the store's fault...everyone has to eat right?) but the "caliber" of people that go there on the weekends let's say are somewhat unsavory to say the least. I also notice that some of the local bums will come and sweat the customers in the parking lot for money too on the weekends (that is if you can find a place to park in the lot)...funny enough the homosexual gym next door had to put up a no parking, tow zone sign to keep from having their precious spaces taken...ha ha! Anyway getting back to what's important....the FOOD! The meat is great and the produce is even better with LOTS to choose from and a variety of choices that you don't normally see at grocery stores such as kale, leeks, sugar cane, etc. I would recommend this store to anyone that is looking for healthy alternatives to Publix and looking to save money as opposed to Whole Foods (where you have to auction off your first born to buy 3 bananas). read more

These guys do have a great selection of Produce and a good selection of Meats. Probably the best selection of Fruits and veggies i hae found yet in Orlando. Not 100% sure about the prices, cause i dont buy veggies and fruits that often, but the quality was very nice. For Meats i wills ay that the Brisket we got and Smoked the next day was some of the best brikset we have had. And the steaks came out wonderful. So the quality of meat was A+. read more

I decided to try out Freshfields Farm because I was looking for a place that sold grass fed beef that wasn't frozen, and they are the closest store I could find. I've been twice so far, and overall the experience has been pretty good. I've found parking to be a bit of a problem, so I would recommend considering street parking. As has been mentioned in numerous other reviews, the meat section and the produce are separated; however, the store will allow you to take a cart and shop both sides, though you will need to pay separately each side. They offer three different types of beef - grass-fed, aged Midwestern, and Western American. I do like the fact there is grass-fed, but I've found the selection in that regard slightly lacking. There's a decent selection overall, however - I found a really good portion of Indiana bacon one time! In addition, they have a meat counter, but I haven't bought anything there yet. The produce side has an excellent selection including multiple varieties of mangoes at times - something I haven't seen anywhere else. Produce here tends to be larger than at most grocery stores as Hass avocados I've seen were about 20% bigger, and definitely picked fresh as they were not already over-ripened. They also have bagged dry beans in numerous varieties, honey roasted peanut butter, and raw unfiltered Florida Orange Blossom honey. The only negative about this place is just how popular it is - both sides are completely packed each time I've been there. However, I plan to continue to shop here on occasion. read more

Best place to buy meat and fresh vegetables! Coming here is such and easy and smooth experience. The vegetable side is very organized and it is very easy to grab your items and go. They have a section for organic vegetables that seem to be freshly picked. They have a section with juices and ready to eat fruit which I find extremely useful. They also have a grain section where you can find different varieties of quinoa and other grains. On the other side, they have a meat section. Again, very organized. Their prizes are incredible. I paid 3 dollars for chicken that usually costs me around 8 dollars at publix. What a steal! I love freshfield. Like so much. The first time you go prepare to be overwhelmed. Things move quickly, everyone seems to know exactly where everything is, and you may get run over. But, if you persevere and adapt to the system you will reap the rewards of the cheapest groceries in town. There are only 2 drawbacks. My new grocery spot!! It was cool to know that the produce section and meat section were separated, and it didn't feel overwhelming knowing everything was all in one place. Although it did feel overwhelming shopping in here because it's not that big of a place and with people walking around with their karts it did feel bit smaller in my opinion. The pricing for the produce and meats were cheaper than what you would expect to spend in Publix and even Walmart. The quality of the products were really good and I definitely got more for my money's worth. Parking here can be a bit crazy, but there are lots of spaces in the back so don't worry :) They also have a stand in between the departments selling ice cream, hotdogs, and turkey leg! I visited Freshfields with my son a couple of months back. Its a bit of a trek for me, but I do plan to get my groceries from there every once in a while because the prices are really unmatched. The produce, dairy and meats are transported directly to Freshfields from their place of origin without any intermittent processing. If you visit their website, you can see a list of fresh items for the week- for instance, this week there are holiday grapes for $2.28 per lb, 8oz bacon wrapped steaks for $3.99 each, and muenster cheese for $3.49 per lb. They have a list of what is organic and what is local, so you can minimize your pesticide exposure and carbon footprint by shopping here. You can also support a business that pays their employees fairly as their starting pay is $11.50 per hour and have both full and part time jobs available. There is plenty of parking and there are two buildings, one for produce and one kept a bit cooler for the meats and dairy. If you bring the kids to do your shopping, be sure to stop by the ice cream shoppe! They have delicious and high-quality chocolate and vanilla soft serve with ghirardelli sauce toppings. If you need lunch, they also serve hotdogs and turkey drumsticks. Even if you find the prices to be higher than Publix, if it is a reasonable drive for you and you want to shop responsibly, this is the place for you. Remember to bring your tote bags! read more

There is nothing I love me than coming to Freshfields to check out the mostly local, FRESH veggies & fruits to help food prep for the week. They are consistent in terms of quality and freshness and prices. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, nectarines - huge, bright and tasty! Nothing worse than getting fruit that's either tasteless or starts going bad a day or two after you bought it. I've never had that happen with anything I bought here. I get their regular emails when they introduce a in seasonal fruit or veggie - things I tried for the first time here include: Mamey, Black Mission Figs, dragon fruit, and star fruit. Prices can't be beat! The other side (separate door) is the meat, fish and cheese. Their feta cheese is so cheap and is the best by far. Steaks always fresh and t-bones at a price you can't beat. When they have the wild caught salmon, I snag that before its gone because it usually goes fast at the prices they have for seafood. They have a separate checkout line for this store so keep in mind it's right next door but different from the produce side. TIP: Often on the weekends, it gets crazy busy but a tip is to come when it first opens or during the week before the big rush hour. They recently changed the checkout process on the produce side so it's a bit more efficiently run now. Also, you can order meat a head of time if you need it in bulk for a party or BBQ. read more

This place is the best! Cheap, fresh, delicious, and so much variety! I discovered this place about a year after moving to Orlando, and what a treasure! This place is a rainbow of fresh and familiar produce alongside unique and tantalizing items. I often find myself buying delicious looking fruits and veggies that I have never heard of before and finding recipes just to try them out! Tips for shopping here: the parking lot does not nearly facilitate this store's popularity, so try to go at "off" hours. Walk with the flow, trying to go back to grab a forgotten item can be very frustrating. Don't expect all fruits and veggies all the time--most are locally grown and because they are all very fresh, they are only provided when in season. This is a really wonderful find, and since the parking lot was so packed I couldn't understand why I didn't hear about this place sooner. My dad drove past last week, and suggested that my husband and I try it since we live nearby. GLAD we did. Everything looked very fresh and picture-perfect, especially the produce. The employee we spoke to said they put everything away at night, and go through to weed out any items that are no longer good. I'm used to shopping at Publix, but the selection here seemed to be both fresher AND less expensive. Still "normal" portions of meats and things; you don't have to buy in bulk to save here. Additionally, there seemed to be a good selection of specialty items. My husband and I will probably be buying all of our meat and produce here from now on, and just buy pasta, cereals, cleaning supplies, etc at Publix. ***Know that there are two sides: (produce, meat/fish) and that they don't connect inside. I'm a big fan of Freshfield Farms (aka Momm's Meats and Popp's Produce). I do most of my produce shopping and a lot of my meat shopping there. Why - you may ask - would I travel miles from my home or place of business to shop there? 1) Supporting a local business is cool! I wish they would open up another outlet in the College Park/Winter Park area. 2) PRODUCE PRICES - Berries are generally almost half price of what they charge at Publix. Tomatoes are always reasonably priced and good quality. Their freshly cut chunk pineapple is very delicious and inexpensive... their apples and lemons/limes are way less expensive. They also sell a lot of fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, etc. for you gourmet cooks who like to use the fresh stuff! 3) MEAT PRICES - Over on the other side of this dual-store combo... their meat prices are great! Tasty hormone-free chicken for about half the Publix price. Always a good assortment of pork products. But the real treat is in the butcher's display... it is their bacon-wrapped sirloins - which come in 8oz or 10oz. They take hunks of tender sirloin and wrap 'em up with always delicious bacon! I like to pick up a few of these and throw them on the grill. Great for backyard BBQs or GameDay tailgates! Some other reviewers have mentioned that the place tends to get crowded and this is true. Especially on Saturdays - it is difficult to find parking and maneuver your way around the stores. A big positive change they have very recently made is that they are NOW OPEN ON SUNDAYS! This is great - as Sunday is usually my grocery shopping day of the week. Now I don't have to worry about running over there on a weekday night before they close or the aforementioned crowded Saturdays. They do close at 7PM - making it hard for those of us who work late to stop in and pick up meats and produce - so that's a negative. But overall - I'll keep hoping they open another outlet closer to my side of town... and until they do, I will still keep going out of my way to shop there. It's good food at a good price. read more

I love this place already! We have only been once, and we were just running in to get some chicken but what I saw, I liked. It's very nice and clean and not to mention CHEAP! We love the fact that most of the meat (if not all, I haven't done all of my research) is local and hormone/antibiotic free. It's also great to know that if you are wanting to make a change in your diet and switch to more local foods, it won't break your bank account. We bought 2 packs of chicken (5 pieces in each pack) and a nice big pack of cheese for only $11! You CANNOT find a deal like that at the regular grocery stores. I was very pleased with this. I can't wait to go back and take a look at their produce section. This first visit was a quick one so we didn't have too much time to explore. They also have a little ice cream shop in the front! This posting is a letter of gratitude vs a review,let me explain: Armed w/ the knowledge offered online regarding non GMO, Organic this Organic that, Antibiotic and/or hormone free this/that, but there is a problem. Short of spending a huge chunk of one's paycheck at Whole Foods, really the only options are Aldi/Trader Joe's or at the local Farmer's Market. Unfortunately w/ many local Farmer's Market, they tend to be way overpriced and lacks the execution of delivering truly good quality produce. Freshfields has achieved a very well rounded model for every day person trying to feed their family w/ good quality produce at very reasonable pricing. Thank You all at Freshfields for the wonderful job, America can use more folks like you to ensure the safety of our food source. The fruits and vegies here are very fresh and tasty, as I remembered it in the 70's before coming to America from the old world. Selections are plenty, and key word is FRESH!!! Make that very fresh. I would advise all Vegans in the Orlando area to make this their destination for shopping, you can be thankful your family will get high quality produce at very reasonable prices, no other place in Orlando comes close right now. read more
