It was a good portion, I was satisfied and everything was cooked really well. My boyfriend ordered the pork gyro (higher plate) with tomato, red onion, lettuce and tzatziki wrapped in pita bread with a side of fresh cut fries and ketchup. First time trying this restaurant because it was close to my hair salon, and it did not disappoint! The place is a smaller shop in a place but it was well organized, clean, and service was quick and tentative as well. There were probably only 3 or 4 employees in the whole restaurant but it seems they have a really organized system and the food came out amazing and at a reasonable time. Fantastic dinner! Fast casual Greek food where we had a chicken and lamb gyro and fried feta. Everything was delicious down to the seasoning on the fries. Most items are scratch made down to the pita and they even grow their own herbs. When ordering dessert the owner offered to make us an off menu item he was trying which hopefully makes it onto the menu soon! Additionally a really good drink/beer list! This is a small locally owned cafe with an amazing menu. We met the owner, Petar, who was super friendly and seemed to enjoy what he is doing. Upon walking in we seated ourselves and Petar greeted us and brought our menus. He was able to give recommendations and answer a few questions I had. I got the Mediterranean mint tea, based on his recommendation, it was very refreshing. We started with the french fries for the table, that are hand cut fresh everyday, they were seasoned to perfection and served piping hot. Each meal was served with Tzatziki sauce and fresh baked pita that just melted, in the best way, while eating it. Our orders Brisket Sirloin Chuck Burger Two orders of Souvlak, one with NY Strip and one with Pork, both with a side Greek Salad that was amazing! The meat had great flavor The NY Strip was a little over cooked but Petar noticed while checking on us and offered to remake it. I accepted and it was cooked much better that time. This place is it!!! We were so pleasantly surprised! Expected a "Cava" and got a 3 star meal in a low key, basic, strip center setting. Everything was perfectly fresh and the meat was spectacular. Mama had the beef gyro and I had the lamb. Both were in fabulous homemade pita, with a gorgeously light tzatziki. The fries on the side were double cooked and super crispy outside and tender inside with a delicious salt and pepper seasoning. I had a Sam Adams and Mama had (just) water to wash it down (though she was eyeing the red sangria!) Peter, the owner, was handling much of the front of house duties and he was so genuine and authentic that it made the meal a personable event. Had a return visit to Freshly Greek. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken while others had the same with lamb and a chicken gyro. The salads were good - chicken was tender on both salad and gyro. The lamb did not get quite the same review. Although "not bad" it was somewhat under seasoned and dry. Since this was take out I do expect things to dry out a bit by the time you eat, so it would most likely be a bit better if eaten in. This is an update, so I think it is fair to say my experience improved. I do suggest adding some "bowls" as we were hoping for one. Also missed classic beef/lamb gyro mix. read more

My chicken gyro was very substantial and I also enjoyed the fries. (I had leftovers the next day because the portion was big). We were the only ones there when we walked in so can't blame the experience on being busy . I ordered the Mediterranean mint tea ( iced) which was delicious, the chicken souvlaki with fries . Well ....the fries were soggy and cold , my chicken skewer was warm and my pita seemed undercooked. The taste of the chicken was kind of bland and it was definitely overcooked and dry . The pita slices were very doughy like and moist inside , chewy. Now , I dined with 2 others and the pork souvlaki was also dry but it was ordered with harissa so that made it taste much better . The lone server there was more in tune with her phone and getting to-go orders on the counter than the actual diners in the restaurant. My meal was up at the window but she didn't bring it over until she looked up from her phone ( yes I saw this ) . She walked my plate over and my co diners were waiting for theirs , this is when I noticed my cold fries , ugh . The server brought another plate over after a few minutes and eventually the third meal was delivered. What ?? I've never dined at a restaurant that brings one meal at a time over the course of 10 minutes. No one came by to check on us or ask if we needed anything , not even a " how is everything?" . Went to Freshly Greek today in search of good Greek food in Lancaster. Overall, it was ok. The place is fairly small and decor is minimalistic, looks like a place where you'd order at the counter but there is light table service. Very high prices for the food offered, and even for soft drinks. Extensive alcohol menu- makes me wonder who's coming to a fancy dressed casual place to drink 3 cocktails. We started with the hummus appetizer for $12. They make the pita in house which you can taste. My wife didn't love the flavor profile of the pita but I thought it was decent. The hummus itself was bland, but not bad. For entrees, I got the gyro for $16. I was surprised to hear they don't have the classic shaved style meat but rather just souvlaki style meats, so I chose chicken. It was well seasoned and juicy, though there was a cold piece at the end that I suppose didn't reheat as wel as the restl. It came with fries, which were fine. My wife got the chicken souvlaki for $2 more, which essentially had the same skewer of souvlaki, pita, and rice instead of fries. The rice wasn't very flavorful and the souvlaki was the same as mine. Overall, not bad food, but just not what I expected at this price point. We started with the Mezze platter, a great sampler of house olives, Greek feta, sliced cucumbers, house made Dalmaths, hummus, tzatziki and Petar's home made Pita along with an order of delicious felafels. I'd like to start with a simple observation: This may have been the best spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had. Could these also be the best fries I've had? Having some time to speak with the owner, my wife and I had a good idea of why the food is so delicious. There is great care and thought put into the ingredients of each dish. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced. With a restaurant such as this, you get what you pay for! With a tip, it cost my wife and I a bit more than we would usually spend and I will very happily spend it again in the near future. If you want frozen and reheated meals, there are plenty of Applebee's, Chilis, and Outbacks in the area. If you are looking for a place that will leave you feeling full (but not overindulged) and like you got a great bang for your buck, look no further. My wife ordered the Greek salad with falafel and couldn't stop raving. Again, when you have quality ingredients that are local to your area, it makes all the difference. We visited the area and found this a Greek restaurant and decided it give it a try. We're glad we did! I had the moussaka and my husband had the gyro. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the portions were generous. The decorations made light and bright and super clean. The owner was lovely and spoke with all the guests. We appreciated that they have a small toy kitchen and toys in the back which my daughters loved and which gave us a chance to finish out food and drinks calmly while they played. Nice, clean, basic interior for dine in. Lots of tables with metal chairs - not super comfortable, but just fine for a casual dining experience. I'm sure they do a big take out business as well - I saw lots of meals bagged up. The employees (maybe even the owner) were all very friendly. Came and stopped by the table to chat and check on us and refill drinks multiple times. They have a self-busing station, but insisted on cleaning up for us. As I said, very friendly! The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Especially the pita. Clearly made in house and it was outstanding. We ordered two chicken souvlaki dishes, one with salad that had a nice big hunk of feta on top and one with fries. I also ordered a little side dish of hummus.
