Service is attentive lots of free coffee refills. It a diner style restaurant in the middle of farm country, I guess no one is expecting much and that is what you get. Spouse needed food , odd time traveling through the area, lunch was a mistake last visit, but how bad could breakfast be? Well the answer to that question is pretty bad. Spouse ordered eggs Benedict , untoasted English muffin, overly salty Canadian bacon, poached egg was acceptable for diner fair, but sauce was bland no lemon at all. Side of potatoes was warm and no detectable crusty bits. Still she said it was meh ok. I thought I was going to play it safe with waffle, fake syrup or sugar free options no thanks, so butter only and that would have been good except the waffle had half the holes empty, and was stone cold. Plate was warm, butter just sat there. So I put jelly on it and ate it. The server asked about our meal and I told her it was ok. Then the owner came over and asked and wanted to take the waffle off the charge. Nope I said I ate it so I'm paying. Didn't say it was our last attempt at getting an acceptable meal out of the place though. $25.87 plus tip At least the receipt gave me a chuckle It states at the bottom " food like your mom used to make " My mother could burn water, so that is at least accurate. read more

Visiting from NJ, stopped here for breakfast. The service was quick, friendly and the prices were reasonable. My chocolate chip pancakes were supposed to come with peanut butter and whipped cream but did not. The peanut butter is what got my curiosity so I was disappointed. My wife's meal was supposed to come with a free donut that we did not get. I was disappointed with the use of single use syrup, butter and cream packages. Those single use containers aren't recyclable and not biodegradable. I was surprised that this business isn't concerned about the environment. read more

I just love this place. The owner is an absolute sweetheart. She is so nice and always taking care of her employees and customers. The staff we had today was great! We had a party of 8 and our server was awesome and didn't miss a beat. From the outside, looks small. On the inside, TONS of seating and comfortably as well! Ive had breakfast, lunch and dinner here before. The star of the show is breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes are great. Their cinnabun pancakes are incredible. Their homefries and and bacon rock! Don't tempt me with one of their omelets I could eat that all day. Country fried steak with gravy? Also top notch. We LOVE this place for breakfast. Unfortunately then we sat and waited about 10 minutes before anyone came over...while other people who were sat after us already had their beverages. After we finally ordered we got our beverages Food arrived and we were offered more coffee...our server who seemed to like to make a lot of noise when she showed up poured more coffee on the table than in our mug. The Kountry Kitchen on Route 72 in Manheim, PA is a hidden gem of a restaurant. From it's front door greeters, to it's wait staff, to it's cooks (who, by the way, you don't see but deserve many kudos) the establishment is run like a well oiled machine. The food is delicious from breakfast to close of day dinners. The wait staff are attentive, the food is prepared and delivered promptly and is reasonably priced. The restaurant is very clean including the bathrooms. If you are ever in Manheim, PA, do yourself a favor and stop and enjoy a meal at the Kountry Kitchen. Home style cooking at its finest. I never had ham loaf and tried it here. It is ground ham in the shape of a loaf, then sliced and lightly grilled on both side. It comes with a side of pineapple raisin sauce to spread on top. Really good taste and the two slices of ham were not too salty. I also had the fried eggplant as a side and the chili as the soup. What a unique, but splendid way to serve a pecan sticky bun - warmed, split in half, top coated with nuts and sticky goodness, next to the bottom, a swirl of cinnamon. I'm in heaven. Ordered the ham steak breakfast. A large, thick grilled sliced of smoky ham, scrambled eggs and real potato, sliced home fries. All good, but the ham slice was so large, I took the rest home. My husband and I went there for lunch on 11/2/24. We both had coffe and shared mozzarella sticks. We ordered different meals. I had a turkey club. I only ate half. Because my hotel didn't serve breakfast, I came into Kountry Kitchen Family Restaurant hoping to find some good eats. Upon arriving, I was immediately seated at a table. Within minutes, my waitress took my order. Not long afterwards, my food came out. I had the Meat Lover's Omelette, which was packed with bacon, ham, sausage, and cheese. It was both filling and delicious, all for only ~$9! Additionally, it came with a side of grits and toast. My only minor complaint is that it seems like they weren't very careful in preparing my food. I never ordered potato, yet I had some potato mixed in with my omelette, probably from cross-contamination with someone else's order. This is a big issue for people like me who are allergic to potato. read more

If I could give this review a title, it would be "35 5-stars!" We brought a group from our church Sr. Adult ministry to visit the Lancaster area this past week. We were on the way back to our hotel, coming from the Hershey Chocolate World, when we found this gem on yelp. I called the restaurant about 90 minutes ahead to see if they could handle a group of 35 and were met with a big "Yes!" When we pulled up, the owner was standing at the door to welcome us, waving us in to the back room where they had tables set up for us. What an eclectic menu! A little bit of everything available. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie. (Would not have traded it for anything. It was wonderful, but I didn't see the hamloaf on the menu. One of my childhood favorites!) My wife had the vegetable plate (one of the best Greek "side" salads she'd ever eaten. It was huge!) Other people in our party ordered the baked potatoes (All I can say is wow!), French Onion Soup, Hamburgers, Roasted Turkey Sandwich, Baked Lasagna, Red Beet Salad, Baked Haddock, BBQ Ribs, etc. (Did I mention there were a lot of choices??) Dessert...Did I say we just came from Hershey? We didn't need any, but to top off this meal, we were "talked into" trying a piece of her home-made baklava (The owner told us over 90% of the menu was home-made in the restaurant...believe it!). She told us she only had 3 pieces left. Our table ordered 2 of them and she gave us all 3. Hands down, the best baklava I've ever eaten...sweet, flakey, nutty wonderfulness. To say that everyone was pleased with their meals is a big understatement. The service was great. We couldn't believe how fast they started bringing out the meals. I came here for a Saturday morning breakfast. The place was busy and almost full. Prior to my arrival, I had a look on their website and had an idea of what I was going to order. Unfortunately, I was not able to order what I originally had in mind because they have a limited breakfast menu after 11 am. Regardless, I was still able to order an omelette. I always ask for my home fries extra crispy, this time included, and I must say they could've done a better job but I am not fully complaining. My server was also not the most attentive but I do not blame the established because I watched another server who was completely on top of her game. I wish I had been served by her. I love this place. Sunday morning gets packed, but the quality of the food always reminds the same. I've been here several times for lunch, breakfast, and take out, and they never disappoint. The owner comes to visit every table to make sure everything is going well, and the servers are attentive. I know they've been trying to hire during the pandemic but it seems like they haven't missed a beat in service. They appear to have many of the same people working time after time, and they're happy employees. Same day: My two sisters, one of the husbands and 4 nieces and nephews were out Christmas shopping and we decided to find a place to meet up for an early dinner. I called the restaurant and asked if they could accommodate eight at 2PM to which the owner replied "sure, come on in" When we arrived we were immediately seated at a long table they set aside for us. There was plenty of room to stretch out, talk and eat. We all ordered something different and our server - I think her name is Olivia handled all of us with ease. She was patient with some of us who weren't ready when we should've been and also when some of us were changing our order. Our meals were delivered at the same time and we're hot and fresh and every dish was accurate. Kudos to the kitchen too!!! She checked on us many times and refilled our drinks several times. We never once felt like she was intrusive. She was that good. We looked at the time and noticed we have been sitting there for two hours catching up, eating,making plans for the rest of the day. Not once were we made to feel rushed. We had so much fun that we dubbed this our Christmas luncheon. We will all now remember where we had our Christmas luncheon in 2017. Family friendly place we found as we were tooling down the pike , my wife was hungry for breakfast that we missed out on in Wildwood, "they had streets closed for a marathon of some sort when we were on our way home from vacation so our plans got changed " so my daughter was driving I was in shotgun position so started looking on yelp for what was close to pike , and found Kountry Kitchen, easy to find right off the pike , we pulled into parking lot and it was a small crowd but we had missed the breakfast crowd I'm sure , it wears almost 11:00 , I had the cheese steak sandwich, my wife had a breakfast plate and my daughter had the pulled pork sandwich, the staff was very friendly and all the food was delicious no complaints, would definitely recommend and will stop in again next time heading to or leaving the beach read more
