She told the right information of all my charkas and the problems that blocked me right now. all my energies have clear visual sights in her imagination and they were all correct. I shed my tears when she was revealing the information of all my chakras. Also, she told me exactly how to deal with the negative energies in my body to become better. I had been searching for the right person who could address my painful shoulder, which had flared up again after October 7th. I knew that I needed someone who understood the emotional aspects of my shoulder pain, in addition to the physical condition of it. I was also drawn to her intuitive skills described on her website, as I knew that there was inter-generational and epigenetic trauma that needed to be addressed. WOW did Sonja deliver! She not only started the healing process for me after the very first visit, the pain pretty much subsided after just 2-3 sessions. I have been meaning to write this review ever since the 60-minute massage I received from Sonja back in November 2023. More recently, I completed a 2-hour Deep Dive & Reset session. On both occasions, it took many months of budgeting and saving to be able to come up with the funds to afford the session. Based on the reviews of Freshwater I saw online, I had suspected that it would be worth the financial sacrifice, and my experience on both occasions proved my suspicions to be correct. I won't claim for a second to understand how any of this works, but I can give you (as a prospective client of Sonja's) a sense of what to expect. Sonja's studio is warm and inviting. Even if you are awkward and unsure of what to expect (as I was), you will find that she works to put you at ease right away, offering a glass of water and explaining how things will work. For the Deep Dive & Reset, the bulk of the session is spent in a supine position on a massage table, relaxing with your eyes closed. There isn't any physical touch, but if your experience like mine then you will certainly feel things-- heat, pressure, a sensation of internal movement?, and other things I lack the vocabulary to describe. Sonja encourages you to relax and not think about anything in particular throughout this process. The energy work/ clearing session is then followed by a debrief in which Sonja shares her insights about what she picked up during the session. She then offers some suggestions of ways to clear stuck or negative energy, tailored to you based on what she observed or felt during the session. She advises you to take it easy following the appointment and if your experience is like mine, you'll find it impossible to ignore her advice: I was completely exhausted for the 2-3 days following. And after that, hopefully you will feel a bit lighter. Freer. Things will bother you and stick with you just a bit less. You will feel more hopeful and a little less foggy. And the words of advice that Sonja offered will stick with you, proving prescient in ways that feel both spooky and extraordinary. All of this defies what I know and understand about the human body. I've long relied on holistic treatments such as massage, yoga, and mindfulness, but my preference is for evidence-based treatments: things we know work based on science and research. I'm not aware of any research backing the effectiveness of whatever it is that I experienced in the Deep Dive & Reset session that I completed. And yet, it was so profoundly healing - in ways that are continuing to impact my life and wellbeing for the better - that I've decided I don't need to understand to know that it works (for me, at least). If you decide to try energy work - particularly if you're a newcomer to this healing modality the way I am - then I heartily recommend entrusting Sonja with providing this service. I'm glad that I did, and I am forcing myself to write this vulnerable review in the interest of helping others find their way to receive her services. read more

After a challenging bout with the flu, I have been left with lingering muscle weakness and fatigue for about 8 weeks. I found Sonja through some gift of the universe and she responded to me immediately. She asked me questions about what I was going through via email so that she could provide me with the best massage when I came in. The massages I've had with Sonja are by far the most comforting and healing massages I've had. If you are struggling to connect with your body or heal in any way, Sonja can help make that process smoother as she is a true healer. The space is calming and peaceful. As soon as you walk in you will feel at home. She even let me borrow some of her props because she knew it would help me. She is amazing and I feel lucky to have found this practice. read more

Sonja is an excellent massage therapist and reiki practitioner that emits an energy of loving kindness. Don't be fooled by her small stature! Knots are no match for her strength and expertise. Sonja utilizing excellent massage technique while incorporating her energy work. She manages to make the massage relaxing while working out the areas of deep tension. I am not sure I could get through my week without a visit to Sonja! I've had many massage therapists over the years but she blows them all out of the water. Seriously. She is an incredibly intuitive and skilled therapist, easily the best I've had in probably 10+ years of regular massage. She's been sensitive to a longstanding issue I have with recurring neck disc herniations, as well as being able to figure out - often much better than I can! - what kind of work I might need that week. My sense is that she is incredibly good at tailoring treatments to the specific person. She is great at remembering/figuring out/listening to what you like/hate/what works/etc. I always leave my appointments feeling so much better than when I arrived. Her space is nice (cozy, convenient location) and all the little things (I love when she picks just the right final scented oil to end with!) make me always happy to be there. I first met Sonja years ago thru mutual friends, and when I met her it felt like I was meeting up with an old friend. Sonja has such a calming, fun, safe, healing presence about her. I initially reached out to her to get a massage and for as many massages as I've had throughout my life, she will always be my favorite, not just because she's talented in her craft but because the massage always felt like a spiritual experience. Due to our initial connection, I was drawn to Sonja to learn more about her intuitive practice. She patiently worked with me, giving me the tools to learn how to meditate which spiked my spiritual yearnings. We had several one on one sessions where we sat in her cozy, safe space and she helped teach me more about myself within an hour then I had learned in 25 years. A great example of her incredible intuition has nothing to do with me, but my furry companion. I was rushing around doing errands in a haste to get home to my dog and I bumped into Sonja and she mentioned, sort of off hand to make sure I rub his belly and take extra care of him. Little did she know that I had spent the night before in the ER with him getting x-rays and IVs because he had a tummy ache after being in the care of dog sitters. This is just a small anecdote of Sonja's incredible intuition and power. She uses her gift to teach, inspire and encourage us to be the best versions of ourselves (while being humble and FUN!!). She is so knowledgeable about such a wide variety of massage and bodywork techniques, that she is able to expertly tailor her approach to your body type, physical condition, and what's going on in your mind/body on the particular day of your appointment. There is something magical about Sonja's presence and proficiency. She radiates calmness, kindness, humor, and compassion, as well as confidence that she can heal whatever ails you. If I could only use five words to describe Sonja: thoughtful, knowledgeable, welcoming, passionate and skilled. And what else could anyone ever want from a massage therapist? When I injured my neck a few weeks ago I brought it (along with the rest of my tired and sore muscles) to Sonja's warm and inviting studio in Cambridge. Sonja greeted me with a wide smile. As I sat and demonstrated my limited range of motion she asked me a ton of questions about my day to day life, not only about my physical activities but about my stress levels, relationships and job. By the time I took my place on the table I felt like Sonja knew everything about me. I was right. Her questions had drawn out information about my body that I didn't even know I was providing. She had completely anticipated every small injury and knot just from our interview. The massage was incredible; Sonja's knowledge of how muscles retain tension and how to release them was unparalleled in my experience. After the massage I got up, and realized I had all full ROM back in my neck, and that my hips, legs and back felt amazing as well. I dressed quickly to leave. I knew I was her last client of a long day and didn't want to linger. But when she came back into the room but she handed me a glass of water, and invited me to sit, relax, and talk. She then proceeded to educate me on what I need to do to heal this injury and how to prevent future injuries. As we both got ready to actually leave, we chatted about hobbies and a restaurant we share a mutual love for- no mention of any packages or trying to get me to schedule my next session right on the spot! I will definitely be back again to Sonja, the experience is so holistic and rooted in human connection, and she is so friendly and skilled, I just can't imagine anything else. Wow. Sonja is intuitive, kind, and funny. This stuff was sort of on the peripheral of my skepticism....but I fully believe now. Holy shit.

I work in the yoga studio where Sonja has her space and ended up going to see her when she noticed me limping sometime last summer. I have recurring issues with my feet and my calves and she had ideas about how to help, so I (somewhat skeptically) agreed to come see her. Nearly a year later, Sonja continues to amaze me with every session. She works intuitively, knowing exactly where to work with minimal input from me and she has made a huge impact on my chronic issues. She also uses energy work in her practice which makes the experience more unique and nuanced than other massages I've gotten in the past. Sonja is fabulous. If I could give six stars, I would. I went to her at Massage Therapy Works in Davis, and was very excited when she opened her own place up in the O2 yoga studio between Harvard and Central. I've gone to a number of masseuses in the Boston-area, and Sonja is by far my favorite. Before she even begins, she'll sit down with you and talk about what's going on with your body and how she can help. She tells you what the game plan is going to be for the massage (even showing you the muscles she'll massage on anatomy chart), and then she gets right to it. My god, she has magic hands. Plus, she's incredibly fun and will make you feel comfortable whether it's your first massage or your hundredth. After my massages, she has also sent me a follow-up email to see how I'm doing, which is a really nice touch. I've recommended her to all my friends.
