This is a hidden gem! I was looking for a new place that sold carne asada, so of course I yelped it, not thinking anyone would Yelp one..... bit low and behold they did. The hot food area is bustling with people eating inside on a few picnic tables . Beside the large carniceria, the walk-up hot food area is where most the action is happening. Order your meats, by plate or tacos. I purchased a couple pounds of refried beans and chili verde from the hot food section to-go, I also requested a pound of their in-house "taco" salsa. I have found that the in-house taco salsa that they serve directly on the food is far tastier than the salsa in the cold case. Their in-house taco salsa wasn't hot, but. It had a really great flavor.. The beans are really very good and a great value at $1.60 a pound..The pork chili verde ($5.99 a lb) was outstanding, but it has bones and cartridge in it. I heard someone order a "skin" taco, ha ha, fear factor challenge for next time. I appreciated that the workers in the hot area weren't annoyed with all my questions. We were referred here for the menudo. As we walked in it appears to be a market, looking slightly towards the back theres a hustling sound of cleavers chopping on cutting boards. The delicious smell of cooked meats, we walked up to counter to see an amazing selections of foods. Rice, beans, meats, stews and much much more. I ordered birreda and he got carneta tacos.
