Mr. Fretz, Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. I totally understand that from a businesses perspective that no dealer can hold a price for a customer for an unlimited time. That was not my request. I apologize about any miscommunication but that was not my issue or reason for writing about my dissatisfied experience at your dealership. I will attempt to clerify the issues for you and other customers. My concern was that I did not feel that Al ( your sales rep) and others on your team were being honest and upfront with me through the sales experience. Here are some examples about my concerns. We agreed to a price. I was honest about when I was looking to take delivery of the unit (several weeks out). I told Al ( the sales rep) that I would need to think about our negotiated price. I was not not made aware of a deadline or Jayco incentive. Al called me nearly every day to get my deposit as any good sales rep would do. He made no mention about a concern about a price change due to an expiring Jayco incentive. The day after our negotiations Al informed me that you ( the owner) did not like the deal. From a business perspective this should be concerning to you that your sales team is making potential deals that may not be authorized by you? This is a huge waste of your resources ( employee compensation/time) and of the customers time. That issue got resolved but from a customer persecutive it was red flag number one. My second concern was when your sales rep ( Al) informed me that the price of the unit that we had agreed to had changed due to a " $1000 Jacyo incentive that had expired". This only came up when I asked for a written transparent breakdown of the deal. I have communicated with several other Jayco dealers in your region and none are aware of a recent $1,000 incentive? From a consumer perspective something did not feel right again considering feedback from other high volume Jayco dealers. This was red flag number two. During my experience with your dealership your finance team attempted to give me an interest rate over one and a half percent higher then all other dealerships were offering tier one credit customers (812). This issue was corrected after I confronted the issue but I do not believe that customers in this situation should have to go through this hassle. This was red flag number 3. The inconsistencies and high pressure tactics resulted in me purchasing my unit from another dealer. Again, I hope this clarifies my concerns to you and all other perspective customers. I would never expect anyone to hold a price for a customer. I do expect transparency with agreements, deadlines ( if appropriate) and a pleasurable buying experience . Unfortunately this did not happen at your dealership. I see that several other folks have experienced a similar experience based on the reviews. I think that you have a beautiful showroom, a great selection of units, and the pricing that we discussed was very reasonable. Hopefully the issues that I addressed will be taken seriously and will be rectified. read more

Can't say enough about Bob the service manager, he has always been helpful and responsive. I purchased a leftover 2016 Winnebago 5th wheel back in April of this year. The sales dept was ok as was the finance dept, all went pretty smooth. We set our 5th wheel up at a seasonal site in NJ. We have had several minor issues and it needed to go to the shop for repairs. This was not a dealership issue but a manufacturers issue. Bob has worked with us as a go between with Winnebago and so far has been awesome to work with. After 2 yrs we decided to buy an upgraded RV. We went to Fretz's for the walkthrough. When we got there they informed us there is total electrical failure. We should have backed out of the deal at that point. A few weeks later they said it was just the battery and that it was nothing. We believed them. We finally took the RV out this weekend and when we got to the campground there again was total electrical failure. The Rv show was last weekend so we tracked them down at the show. They avoided us like the plague. We talked with Winnebago and they said what the issues were. Fretz's said that can't get to it for about 3 weeks. When I asked the salesman to please show us things in our range, he found excuses as to why they were no good. I am a repeat customer, and am ecstatic about the trade offer I was given, and the ease of the negotiations and subsequent sale! I am in no way an impulse purchaser. I knew exactly the unit that I wanted for myself and my family, and had correspondence with a total of 5 dealerships, in 4 states. No other dealership could compare to Fretz. It wasn't even close! I usually don't write reviews but I had a very pleasurable experience recently with my purchase. The sales team was knowledgeable and experienced. I had no issues with the negotiation process and was very comfortable with the salesman. The whole experience was very smooth which is such a rare occurrence when buying a used vehicle. I was able to get fair value for my trade in and move forward quickly with the financial process. Any questions I had with comparison with other vehicles I was able to get a response quickly and helped me in making my final decision. They have not got one single unit to sell on their property, however, they have flooded the RVT sales site with phony ads that waste buyers time, a precious commodity for a buyer, while the RV dealer without any stock has all the time in the world to troll for suckers to respond to bait and switch tactics that they continually flout. Do yourself a favor, find and buy from a respectable dealer who doesn't play fast and loose with buyer's time and emotions. I am sorry that James C.M. probably won't read this but I just want to say that I took my 2014 Roadtrek with less than 12,000 miles up there to sell on consignment and they sold it for me. I didn't want the hassle of showing it privately as I recently became a widow and they made everything so smooth. The place where I purchased it referred me to a broker where they would buy it for almost 20,000 less. I am VERY happy to pay the commission and they took care of the hassle not me. Beware. Took our unit in for inspection since it was purchased out of state. The woman at desk told us we would prob need brake & bearing work based on the age (2012) and proceeded to tell us a story of how a previous customer needed brake & bearing work and started crying over the bill. Wouldn't you know 3 days later I get a call telling me we need brake & bearing work. But what the service woman & team was unaware of is that we recently purchased this unit used and were not only guaranteed that it would pass PA state inspection but that my husband also looked over the unit and runs a heavy equipment shop for the state! We quickly picked it up without them doing the work and paid them as their policy is pass or fail which is understandable in normal cases. We then went over to their storage lot only to find our landing gear broken, a cotter pin sticking out of the center hub cover, one cover missing and grease everywhere. Unsure if it was safe to bring home, we dropped it at another shop where it passed - as we knew it should. My husband then went back to Fretz and explained to Steve (the owner) what had happened. Steve did refund us the money we paid and offered to fix the landing gear which of course we declined as we do not want anyone from there touching our unit ever again. Lesson learned. Steve was genuinely apologetic and made good by refunding the $78 we paid out. But we do think others should be aware before they are stuck with a bill for work that is not needed. read more

Tried to deal with Fretz 2 times and both times were not good. First time I went to look at a pop up they were selling. Showed up and rick set it up showed it to me and took his time. But once I left and emailed and tried calling to buy it. Forget it. Never heard from him again. I guess he wasn't going to make much commission and didn't want to bother. 9 months later I called about a rental. Got transferred to a voicemail which I left a message explaining I was looking for rental. Nobody called back. Then I got an email from Rick. Said I contacted them off hours. Which I didn't. His email said I would be contacted but never was. Tried twice to give them business. Was also looking to buy a travel trailer. Not now. Guess they don't want it. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I own a brand new Winnebago Trend which I purchased at another dealer out of state after they gave me a much better deal (9k better excluding a 3k better offer on my trade). When I informed the salesman of the other deal he was not happy and I do understand. However, his comment of "Good luck getting service" was ominous and I took great offense. Well he was correct because I did not purchase my motorhome from Fretz I had to wait 12 wks before they were able to accomodate me. The Customer Service Manager assured me this was not retaliatory but now I think otherwise. I had a MAJOR problem with the propane tank leaking. This service would be the THIRD time it would be fixed. I had arranged with Winnebago Service to have Fretz contact them before fixing. I called Winnebago and Fretz did not bother to call!. I have had my unit back for a week and so far no leaks BUT I don't trust the fix. Additionally, they fixed the wrong overhead cabinet which was clearly explained in work order. They didn't even bother to fix the backboard on the bed. I know this because the tear in the wood is obvious just by pulling up the mattress. IT IS STILL RIPPED. I informed Winnebago to not pay for this non repair. Now here's the kicker. I wanted to switch the front antenna with another one supplied. THEY CHARGED ME $20 just to unscrew one and replace it with another. But that is not the worst part. They never replaced it explaining the antenna was the same. Well they were looking at the wrong antenna (the one in back). So they charged me $20 for doing absolutely NOTHING! To conclude, unless you purchased your unit from this dealer (or maybe not even then) I recommend you not even bother because they could care less about servicing your vehicle. SHAME ON THEM! btw I am driving out to my purchasing dealer and they will fix EVERYTHING TOP TO BOTTOM and I won't have to wait even a day! read more

Fretz RV service department has not dealt with us regarding servicing our 2015 Itasca Sunstar 35F which we bought from them in January 2017. The dining/living room slide with the schwynteck system. We delivered the rig at the beginning of Mat for a May 8th service. We never received an estimate for the parts and labor and that was just the beginning. We called May 25th and were told parts were on order and awaiting delivery. 2 weeks later we called and were told slide was repaired but there is an apparent electrical short. There was a short with the power converter which took out $3800.00 in parts and labor yet the rig was delivered with all water& waste tanks and lines emptied as they are 2 hour plus drive away. After 75 days in their shop we demanded they not complete the last $1300.00 of parts and labor of shorter electrical parts. The shipped the second factory slide mechanism in our storage compartment and was told we could keep it or throw it out. I inquired why the set from the factory wasn't installed they said it was to save time. Anyone ever buy two new tires for their car and only put one on! We have tried every method to negotiate a fair repair price and offered to pay all electrical parts costs but simply asked them to cover the labor. They said NO. Although we ultimately purchased a unit that they did not offer, Al was very helpful in showing us the various options that they carried and arranging for test drives of the models we were most interested in. I felt like he worked hard to make sure all of our questions were answered without applying undue pressure. If we had decided to buy one of the units that they carried, we would strongly consider doing business with them. read more

It's always kind of scary to buy a used RV on the internet and then leave a deposit and drive almost half way across the US to pick it up. So we did diligent research on the internet. We found what we liked. We called and Al was our sales guy. We talked to him about a specific RV and still did no more research. We checked all of the reviews online because supposedly they have been in business for a very long time. But still unsure this would be a good idea. We found tons of good reviews on Facebook but some good ones on Yelp and dealerrater. But there were some bad ones also. I am thinking that most people leave reviews when they are Un happy. I don't normally leave reviews but me and my wife decided to put a deposit and buy an RV from Fretz RV. They were so awesome I am putting a good review on. I bought a used Motorhome and expected some issues. Which there was one that they jumped right on and took care.of. they went way above and beyond the normal. We realized we.made the right decision and let everyone know about. Now I know why they have been in business since 1946. I got help.from another salesman named Pete who has been there for a long time. AL was awesome. Brian made the financing so easy and gave us a great deal on a warranty. And Eric and Gary the managers saw to it that everything was perfect before our.long drive home. Kudos to this team. I hope this review gets read from the out of state shoppers. I've purchased three travel trailers from Fretz in a period of about 8 years as our family size has changed. Fretz has excellent pricing and good selection. They are not just interested in selling the big rigs, but treated me equally well when I was buying a pop up. I had the issue in one other dealership, but not at Fretz. I would give zero stars if possible. Steve Fretz is quite the salesman. He heard that we were a cash paying customer having difficulty find a Pleasure Way and called me personally. He insisted that I would find what I was looking for if I made the 3 hour trip to his dealership and would not take no for an answer. He said he had a slightly used RV with only 3,000 miles that would be well worth my while. He continued to contact me and persuade me to drive out to meet him personally and to take a look. I finally made the most horrendous trip with close to 4 hours of stop and go traffic all the way. When I got there I asked to see Steve Fretz and was told he doesn't usually meet with customers because he is too busy. I explained I had driven all that way in bumper to bumper traffic because he personally invited me. They said he was too busy but they would pull the used Pleasure Way XLMB out for me to look at. Even though Steve Fretz assured us that we would definitely find what we were looking for if we came out to meet with me, he had nothing we were looking for. No one came out to show us the used RV or any other RV We spent about 2 minutes looking at the used one while holding our nose because of the smell. The bathroom door was broken and would not close. The Murphy bed was down and apparently could not be retracted so we had a hard time even getting around it. Kudos to Steve Fretz for finding another sucker to fall for his pitch about being the biggest and the best but you won't get our business. read more

So disappointed. We opted to trade in our old Passport for a new Crossroads Sunset travel trailer. BIG MISTAKE. We have tried working with Fretz and Crossroads to get the repairs made. Each blames the other. In the meantime, we basically lost an entire camp season, tons of miles back and forth, and endless frustration!!!!! Well, we had a great experience at Fretz and highly recommend them for your RV purchase. Don in sales was exceptional. I never felt rushed and Don provided his cell phone; all my calls were returned very quickly after we left. Don helped us find the perfect RV for our family. The purchase, financing and pickup were 5 star. At pickup, Don never rushed and spent over 2 hours with us going through the RV. The service department prepared our truck with proper equipment to tow while we completed our walk through. Don is awesome and has all the RV knowledge possible. What can I say, except that I was a fairly difficult customer. I didn't mean to be, but I wanted to upgrade out of our pop up and move into a travel trailer with some additional necessities (toilet, shower, etc.). My mind was set, and I really wanted to make it work. First, I have to give a huge shout out to Luke Wilson. He went above and beyond to explain my options and work out the best deal for me. After some leg work on his part, and even his day off, he made it happen for us. We are unbelievably thrilled!! We bought our first camper from him, so naturally, we wanted to go back. Dishonest, not up front. Was told everything was in working order so I would give a deposit. Then, all of a sudden, I am called and told there is all kinds of expensive damage (there was no damage when we looked at it-- must have been a fender bender due to the open house) and that all of a sudden the generator wasn't working. Why was I told that it was working? What is wrong with honesty and courteous respect? Is it respectful to tell a customer (after she gives a deposit) that her budget is "measly?" and what could we possibly expect with so little money?!? Maybe that is because her husband is a SOLDIER who has fought for 30 years for his country!! Is it courteous to tell a customer that you don't need her business that you'll sell the rv with or without her? Wow. Just wow. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. That is not customer service. That is not respect. That is not courtesy. Such vile words to a soldier's family are just horrible. read more
