As I was waiting for it to be done my rep and the mechanic come out and tell me I need brakes and if I wanted them to do it. I had hardly used the RV and the mechanic said that sometimes on GMC'S the brake controller is not right. Well I told them I would take it to my mechanic to have the brakes done. After I dropped the RV off at my mechanic ,they told me to come get it that I didn't need brakes . It was 3 or more years later that I needed brakes. Another incident : I had to have a new roof put on RV (over $10,000). About a year after it was done I went in for my forever warranty inspection and was told the roof needed new seals ($1200).How is this possible they just did the new roof less than a year ago. So, I had them redo seals on roof. Now less then a year later I am getting ready for a trip and my bed is wet. I go up on the roof and the seal on fan over my bed is severly cracked. Call General RV and let them know ( they only warranty seals for 3months). There answer was it was a rough year weather wise for seals. How about that for bullshit!!Every year must be a rough year for seal . It's either that or forbid I say maybe they don't know what they are doing at their work establishment. Needless to say I am going to let my forever warranty expire just so I don't have to deal with such incompetence and thievery. It a shame that we RVer's have to deal with companies like this. The difference in professionalism and knowledge was night and day. Andrew took plenty of time with us, answering all of our many questions- sometimes late into the evening and verifying specifics for our rig along the way. Buying our RV was a dream come true & Stoltzfus exceeded our expectations! We are so glad we traveled to the right place to make our dream come true!

Randy/Hitch did offer to reimburse the $50 restocking fee and did follow through on that offer so for that reason I did amend my review,. I only wish that it would not have taken a negative review for this company to remedy the situation. Should be a ZERO star rating- Use extreme caution when dealing with Hitch RV Boyertown service department. If you are expecting to be treated like a valued customer from a company that wants to earn your trust and keep your business you're at the wrong place. We recently dropped of our travel trailer for inspection and we asked about the stock tires that came with the trailer due to an upcoming lengthy road trip. Randy from service stated that the stock trailer tires are junk and are subject to blow outs at any time. As a result we requested that new tires be installed. Randy called back with a couple of different options for tires to replace the existing. He mentioned that the Goodyear tires were the best option and they were $300 PER TIRE installed. He also stated that the tires had to be ordered and a deposit of $600 was required. This seemed high, but we thought that Hitch was a reputable company and we wanted safe tires so the deposit was paid. This seemed like an excessive amount for a 14" trailer tire so after some research we discovered the same exact tire was $175 per tire installed @ Walmart and $183.00 per tire installed @ Creamery Tire. I called and spoke to Randy at 9am the following morning (less than 24 hours after the tires "were ordered") to see if they would price match and was advised that they would not. I advised him not to install the tires because of the high price and was advised that they would NOT be able to refund the money because they cant return the tires. After some back & forth, Randy stated that the "manager" agreed to allow us to pay a $25 PER TIRE restocking fee. When we went to pick the trailer up I asked why they don't advise their customers of their high mark up on tires and I was told "that's why we give you a quote" and "we cant touch the pricing of tire stores or Walmart". They claim that their cost for these tires is $260 PER TIRE and then they added an additional $80 labor to install TWO 14" tires. They literally could have driven a few miles down the road to Walmart and bought them for much less than they claimed to have paid for them. Perhaps that's what they did, who knows. Sadly, we paid $50 for a "restocking fee" that they may or may not have paid to return the tires. Our family is long time campers with two RV's and we were hoping that this local RV service location would be a trustworthy location for our service needs, but that was not the case. I understand that companies must make a profit to succeed, but you must also be honest & fair. If you know your prices are high don't blame the customer for not shopping around. We thought we were at a reputable RV service location with a company that would value our business, but that was not the case. Lessons learned- DON'T ever go to Hitch RV for anything, DON'T ever recommend Hitch RV to anyone, DOUBLE CHECK ALL price quotes because clearly we live in a world where customer retention means nothing to Hitch RV.

Barb treated us as if we were her own children and took an entire afternoon to help us find the perfect camper for us, helping us to afford a traveler trailer that we never dreamed would be ours. When we came back a week later for the financing and demo, Tom was amazing at answering any and all questions we had about our new-to-us travel trailer and when we had issues with our hitch, Ned in the service department dropped everything he was doing to spend over an hour with us to make sure our camper was hooked up properly and we were leaving safely. Every single person we came into contact with made sure we were taken care of and ensured we left there with a camper we were thrilled to own and were safe in. Safety is their #1 priority and while they were happy to make a sale, they were not letting us leave with the camper unless we were safe. We appreciated that! This was the first camper we had bought. We were recommended Schaeffer's by our father-in-law and we will never go anywhere else. From the family atmosphere, to the welcoming, snuggly dogs, to the gift bag of goodies we received when we bought the camper, every single tiny detail made our camper-buying experience a wonderful one!

While with Gabby we expressed what we wanted to look at and we walked out to look at the two travel trailers we would have been interested in. We then went to the office and told her we can buy outright. She pushed us to finance it to then we found out we couldn't finance the travel trailer we really wanted. We checked out another trailer that was cheaper and stated we had the money for it yet again and was pushed for financing. Once we went to pick up the trailer we met with service and got it all hooked up and made sure everything was safe to roll down the road. Never to see Gabby again or even walk through the trailer before we signed papers or anything. We were new to trailer ownership and were not shown anything or told anything. Needless to say they left us in the dark and made sure anything couldn't come back to them for safety issues otherwise I felt it was a quick money maker for them. Not worried about the customer at all. I will not recommend them due to we have a lot of friends looking for trailers to now go with us and they to are new to trailers and wouldn't be told anything about how to work anything.
