My son went there to fix a broken tooth and after spending $250 and being told he needs $3000 worth of work (and that's with insurance), he left looking just like he did when he walked in. They did was three sets of x rays and a cleaning, but didn't fix the tooth. I do not recommend them at all. read more

First off the office manager is so horribly rude. So I requested a female doctor forst thing when I spoke to them on the phone to schedule. They only had a male dentist - and they didn't tell me this till I walked in the doors. Then- I sent an email with my insurance info via email. They did not look into it till I was in the dental chair- then they told me it's not accepted. The amount they were charging me was insane... After the office manager is calling me sweetie and raising her voice at me (it was awful, and I'm not sensitive, but was shaking ,she tried to belittle me ) I think she was so nasty too because she knew they were wrong to not take care of this till now and I said that. - she ended up texting me right after saying she apologized and that insurance does accept their office... I obviously did not return to them. I went to a new dentist for my next check. They said I haven't been to a dentist in a while it looks like from insurance and records. This means that gum dental lied and did not take my insurance but realized they were wrong so did not charge me/insurance since I said I will have to take action if they are going to charge me. Which was good but proved that they were so wrong for all of this. Anyways I never left a doctor's office so upset - DO NOT GO HERE - unless they change office management..... read more

Don't go All they want to do is cosmetic. They will convince you about cavities to them point they drill you when unnecessary! I've only realized this when they refused to work with me regarding a bill, also they don't help at all like most others will! So by going to a new dentist, not only did they say "there was no cavity" or any indication of one! read more

I've been a client of gum dental for 11+ years now. My entire family made the switch in 2013 after traumatizing experiences elsewhere. They are GENTLE, caring and compassionate. We started coming to the practice before Dr Julie Gum took over, and it has been amazing seeing her succeed and build an incredible team. Everybody is fantastic, from the front desk to the hygienists, and the doctors. They greet me by my name the second I walk in the door, and I love catching up with them during appointments. I come here for all my cleanings, fillings, teeth whitening, and did Invisalign with them as well. They were very communicative during Covid, making sure I still got my trays and felt comfortable. Any time I've had an "emergency" they get me in as soon as possible, and have always referred me to the best specialists for procedures needed elsewhere. They are prompt with confirming and reminding me of appointment, and always accommodating. I've never had an issue with billing here either. They are extremely on top of the insurance, and take care of any issues from insurance providers immediately. The team and Julie have also done a fantastic job during interim times when Julie was out on maternity leave growing her family, always making me comfortable with anybody who would step in. I have never once worried about who is taking care of me, as they all are a pleasure & I've only had perfect experiences. I recommend them to all of my friends, clients and even strangers. read more

Recently moved to PA. I am glad I found this dentist. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are always willing to spend the time to answer all of your questions. As most people I am not a big fan of going to the dentist but they make the experience pleasant. The office and examination rooms are very clean. The doctors are also very knowledgeable and take their time to make your procedures as pain free as possible. I would definitely recommend them. read more

This has to be the WORST dentist I ever went too. They nickel and dime you, even if you have dental insurance. I received a bill after 6 months. Which I paid them what I owed them every visit. Because I cxld my appt with them last week, isn't it interesting that now I get another bill. I had one filling that to this day bothers me, and now I will be going to someone else. They are terrible. Please don't waste your time or your money....Very unprofessional and not accommodating to their patients. Also, you should never get a filling and have pain 6 months later, and I did go back and they did nothing. Go to Dr. Baki he is great, nice office does a much better job and extremely professional. My husband had 4 teeth done, and has no problem what so ever. There is a difference of a good dentist to a bad one...maybe she should go back to dental school....really she could use a refresher course. Overall WORST Dentist!! read more

Came for a new patient appointment and a cleaning after reading several positive reviews on an alternative forum. The usual Dr Gum was out on leave so her associate, Dr Phillips, who I was assured was very good, handled my visit. Initially was as pleasant as a dental visit can be. I made sure to let them know I was an anxious dental patient and assistant Brittany was very nice constantly checking whether I was okay. I understand due to COVID there were restrictions on the types of procedures they could perform, so Dr Phillips did a manual cleaning. She notified me I did have a cavity to be filled for a follow up. Not great news but okay. I asked about nitrous (again - anxious patient) and was told they could not use it due to COVID. Okay fine. Dr suggested Valium instead and I was okay with this alternative however she then refused to write the prescription for me for the procedure she would be performing. She insisted I should have my PCP wrote for this, which I informed her I did not have. She then insisted I should have a PCP and refused to write any Rx for me. So she took an anxious patient and made things much worse. I am a pharmacist and understand the laws surrounding such medications. Never have I heard of a practitioner refusing to write for a medication for a procedure they themselves were to perform. Extremely unprofessional. Very disappointed. read more

My family and I have been patients of Green Street Dental "GSD" for nearly 6 years. A few years back the practice was sold and my family and I continued to see the new doc, Dr. Julie Gum. Every six months when I would go in for a cleaning I was told "you should really have those front teeth fixed". My front teeth were beautiful but "bonded" and they keep telling me that I would be much better off with porcelain crowns instead of the "old bonding". For YEARS I kept declining to have anything done, because, frankly, my teeth were beautiful. Very white, beautifully shaped, and I always received compliments on my smile. Eventually I relented to their constant suggestion to have crowns installed. I was very apprehensive, I mean, we're talking about my two front teeth! GSD assured me they would be beautiful. They also assured me that my insurance would cover the procedure. The never, once, told me that there would be limitations to the use of my two front teeth if I went through with the procedure. Sadly, I am very unhappy with the results. My gums still haven't healed 6 months after the procedure. I was horrified to learn literally sitting in the chair immediately following the procedure that there were many limitations with the "new teeth" such as never being able to bite into an apple or eat corn on the cob again. Chicken wings? Nope, not those either. And then, on top off all the unease I have at having to change my lifestyle to accommodate the crowns, a few months later, I get a bill for roughly $1300! (remember, if you please, they told me this was a covered procedure) I immediately called the office and they told me they'd look into it. I didn't hear anything for a few months and then I received another bill... At that time, I wrote a detailed, professionally worded, letter expressing my concerns. Their response? Dr. Gum sent a certified letter telling us that we were no longer welcome as patients at the practice and needed to seek dental care elsewhere! The only "good" thing to come of it was they wrote off the bill, but to be clear, I think they were worried about a lawsuit. To be honest, I was shocked. I mean... A PROFESSIONAL would have tried to fix whatever issues I was having. A PROFESSIONAL would have apologized that I wasn't happy that the crowns were not performing "as advertised" and offered to see what they could do to "make it right". A PROFESSIONAL doesn't just say, oh, sorry I lost your trust, so you need to seek care elsewhere. I am extremely disappointed with Dr. Gum and the GSD staff. After being a patient for 6 years, they simply dropped me and my family rather than trying to correct the problem they created. Maybe I'm better off seeking dental care elsewhere, but I feel it's important to let others know of my experience and the lack of care and professionalism exhibited by GSD. read more

I was thrilled in the beginning with my cleaning but after that it went all down hill. I had three teeth filled and went back four times because I was having so much pain. They looked at it every time made adjustments and finally the fourth visit they really didn't know what to do because I was still having pain, come to find out it wasn't that broken tooth it was the tooth in front of the broken tooth, that I was having so much pain in. I think they cracked it when they filled it because I hadn't had any problems with that tooth prior to the filling. After the fourth visit they referred me to another dentist to do a root canal. The same day Green Street got me into the other dentist that did root canals, because they thought that is what I needed. Well that didn't work out so well either, when the dentist looked at my x-rays and said I could try a root canal but I am not sure that is what you need at this point. At that point on a Friday afternoon there I was still in pain going on three weeks. That dentist was able to refer to an oral surgeon thank goodness. Turns out that I had to have that tooth pulled, $250 later out of pocket the pain was gone, but unfortunately so is a tooth of mine. I still think they cracked it when they filled those teeth. Green Street stated that I had a couple more silver fillings to change to white so back I went, I thought the first one was a fluke. Well it wasn't I went back and had fillings changed, boy that was a huge mistake once again. Ever since then I have been having sensitive issues with my teeth. It has been over 4 months and still have issues with sensitivity. When I called them about it they said give it some time and if you still have problems you can come in and we can see what we could do for you. Well needless to say no more Green Street Dental for myself or my family. read more
