As if that wasn't bad enough, the masterminds behind this joint only offer 5....yes FIVE topping options (Pepperoni, Sausage, Green Peppers, Mushroom and....anchovies) I what world is an ANCHOVY a top five pizza topping. The worst part of all this is if you ask a question about the menu or order a topping they don't offer, not knowing their very limited options, they act like you're some kind of noob dipshit. It was very annoying. I also thought that it was odd that there was not a single pizza box to be found. Leftovers were sandwiched between two paper plates and stuffed into a brown paper lunch bag. To go orders were served on a cardboard circle and slide into a paper sleeve. I can only imagine the mess that makes in your car while you try to get it home. The pizza is super thin crust, something I wasn't expecting. We were given paper plates and the plates were soaked with grease after placing one piece on it. We were charged twice for our drinks as we were not aware there was no free refill- something our server should have mentioned. We also never got water which we had asked for a couple of times. No menus, no frills, and no major decisions to make. You choose from a modest selection of toppings (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, anchovies, green peppers, onion, and mushrooms) with which to festoon your pie. Soft drinks, beer, and wine are also available. Fricano's has a handful of West Michigan locations, and they've been doing the same thing since 1950. That's the charm. Take it or leave it. I choose to take it. And I enjoy it. Ambiance here is casual. Clientele are mainly locals. Red checkered tablecloths and paper plates. After reading Brian E's response in regard to Fricanos Too, his review made me want to see how bad the pizza was there. Thank goodness I was proven wrong! I enjoyed the pizza immensely. We ordered a sausage and a pepperoni as take-out. Both pizzas came on old-school card board trays, slid into paper bags. The pizza was very hot and super fresh and smelled delicious. Apparently they make their own sausage in house and the pepperoni was very good as well. Fricanos only offers one size but seems to excel in what they do offer. It's only a cash place, but that makes the experience all the more enjoyable. They only have a limited amount of toppings, but sometimes less is more. And in this case it works well for Fricanos pizza. At the end of the day, Fricanos is a great little pizza spot that does a great job in producing a simple product. Fresh, simple and easy to enjoy. It's sad that Brian E couldn't realize that. If he doesn't like the pizza maybe next time he should try a salad instead. read more

One size, one crust, and six ingredients. So, not much deliberating on what to eat when you get there. While I found his review very entertaining, Fricano's Too in no way deserves the one star review he gave it. I've been vacationing in Holland for years and always wondered what the pizza was like. We ordered 2 pizzas, one with sausage and one with pepperoni. Yes they only have 5 toppings: pepperoni, Italian sausage, green pepper, mushroom and anchovy. I like the simplicity. Yes the pizza crust is very, very thin. And yes they only come as 12" pies. The pizza was baked well. We had ours as carry out. They put it on a small cardboard disc and slide it inside a thin paper sleeve. I used to work at a pizzeria In high school and we did it the same. In fact Little Caesars used to do it similarly. Everything felt very old school and authentic. It was still very hot when we got it back home. All the ingredients tasted great. The sauce was good and flavorful. The pepperoni was not too thin. The Italian sausage was great, definitely tasted home made and fresh. The pizza is covered with Italian herbs and spices that make it zesty. While we didn't get it well done, I would want to try that next time, as the thin crust absorbed the sauce making it a bit softer. They serve fountain coke products(which aren't free refill) but are only $1 a piece. And have a full bar. The main dining area has warm and inviting yet simple atmosphere. The bar is the focal point and there's nothing on the walls. Again. Simple and efficient. This restaurants true focus is simply the pizza. Which is excellent. Triangle cut(I'm privy to the square Chicago cut). Sauce above average flavorful. Sausage is very exceptional. Toppings fairly generous. The one take back I wish the crust could be just a little bit more crispy. But pizza I would order again. The other take back is that it's cash only. Luckily they have an ATM at your disposal.
