Crunchy crust and great flavor. I got everything but anchovies on my pie and was not disappointed.

Pizza....it really couldn't be anything else at this place

This place is, without a doubt, the weirdest god damned pizza joint I've ever been to. I'm sure it gets a lot of love from the local Holland crew, that's the beauty of being a hometown favorite, people are generally willing to overlook the warts, just because its familiar. Well, as an out of tower...I'm happy to leave this crap hole to the fine people of Holland. I'm quite sure there are at least a dozen places in town that serve a better pie. If you are a visitor to Holland, looking for pizza and find yourself reading this review, please move on to the next option because Fricano's Too isn't what you're looking for. Why am I hating on this place so bad? Let's take a look at the list. -It's cash only...that alone isn't a deal breaker. If you serve amazing food, I'm willing to put up with some inconvenience, problem is the food here isn't amazing. Sure, they have an ATM in the lobby, but a $4.00 service charge to get cash is adding insult to injury. I wouldn't be surprised if the restaurant owned the ATM and used this as supplemental revenue. That might be the case because they certainly have no up sell items on the menu. -Let's talk about the menu, or rather, the complete lack of a menu. Even the worst of pizzerias offers some additional items to complement their pies. Not Friano's! Want an appetizer? Too Bad. Some breadsticks? Not here! A meatball sandwich or some pasta? You're in the wrong place pal. You walked into Fricano's, the only thing you can have the the weirdest pizza you can ever imagine. Small, medium or large you say? Nope...we only make ones size. -That brings us to the pizza. This stuff is ultra thin crust, I've had tortillas that were thicker than this crust. Think 12" diameter ritz crackers. As if that wasn't bad enough, the masterminds behind this joint only offer 5....yes FIVE topping options (Pepperoni, Sausage, Green Peppers, Mushroom and....anchovies) I what world is an ANCHOVY a top five pizza topping. The worst part of all this is if you ask a question about the menu or order a topping they don't offer, not knowing their very limited options, they act like you're some kind of noob dipshit. It was very annoying. I also thought that it was odd that there was not a single pizza box to be found. Leftovers were sandwiched between two paper plates and stuffed into a brown paper lunch bag. To go orders were served on a cardboard circle and slide into a paper sleeve. I can only imagine the mess that makes in your car while you try to get it home. On the plus side, the sausage was home made and quite tasty and the pizza sauce was real good to. Unfortunately, the rest of the presentation did them such a disservice, I'll never experience them again.

My husband and I came to town for the tulip festival. All the restaurants downtown had a minimum of an hour wait time. Fricano did not have a wait time and we were seated right away. I can see why they did not have a wait time. There was no menu; they only serve pizza and drinks. We didn't even know what kind of pizza they had so we just said anything with pepperoni. The pizza is super thin crust, something I wasn't expecting. We were given paper plates and the plates were soaked with grease after placing one piece on it. We were charged twice for our drinks as we were not aware there was no free refill- something our server should have mentioned. We also never got water which we had asked for a couple of times. Server was nice but we would not come here again if we are in the area.

Where to start, we were coming back exhausted from a hospital visit and decided pizza sounded like an easy option. I placed an order for 3 pizzas and only got 2 when I got there so I had to wait while they had to put in the order and I decided to add a 4th while I was there because they looked small. We got 3 of the EBA with onions and 1 sausage. It was very disappointing none of my sisters or my husband liked the pizza. In fact we all thought it to be one of the worst we had and tossed out 2 and a half of the pizza. I can usually repurpose but this was just that bad in my opinion. The ingredients weren't fresh, lacked flavor, and the dough was just ok. I am mad I spent all that money and waited for the extra pizzas. We filled up on salad from some place else instead.

Okay, if you're going to enjoy yourself at Fricano's Too you need to grasp the concept. They've got thin crust pizza (one size, 12") and drinks. That's it. No menus, no frills, and no major decisions to make. You choose from a modest selection of toppings (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, anchovies, green peppers, onion, and mushrooms) with which to festoon your pie. Soft drinks, beer, and wine are also available. Fricano's has a handful of West Michigan locations, and they've been doing the same thing since 1950. That's the charm. Take it or leave it. I choose to take it. And I enjoy it. Ambiance here is casual. Clientele are mainly locals. Red checkered tablecloths and paper plates. Don't be in a hurry though; it'll take awhile for your pizza to arrive. Slow down and enjoy a nice conversation while you wait. About $14 for one twelve inch pizza, cut into eight charmingly unsymmetrical triangles. Many folks get their own and make it a personal pizza. No Parmesan cheese. Your sprinklies of choice include red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Done. Pro tip: Fricano's doesn't take cards, but they do have an ATM on site. Enjoy! --Jayson

Great pizza you have to try. It's just different and I personally love it: major old school feel, nothing fancy but somehow charming. Definitely give it a try!

Thin and greasy pizza. Not a ton of flavor. For the price it's not worth it, plenty of better options in the area.

The worst pizza I ever had. Sauce was like ketchup, sausage, had no taste, pepperoni was flat, and the crust was like a fried tortilla.

We have never been disappointed! Fricano's has become a family tradition for us. It is a very distinct pizza & we love it that way.

Doebs has become my favorite slice of pizza I've ever had. The lunch combo is amazing value and hits the spot perfectly. The slice itself is airy and crisp. Very nice cheese pull from the first bite and not excessively oily. Perfectly topped with marinara more sauce that brings a beautiful balance to such a simple dish. The service here is 10/10. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff members and made to feel as if I was a regular. They explained the specials clearly and friendly and enticed me to get the lunch special which is well worth it. The vibe in the restaurant is similar to being in your own living room surrounded by friends and family. I ate by myself but I didn't feel alone in the restaurant. Everyone was talking and having a good time the music in the background was nice and you can hear genuine laughs coming from the kitchen. It's always nice to see happy staff members making delicious food. I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to return to Michigan but if I do this is a must hit spot. Thank you Doebs for ruining square slices for me, I doubt I'll find anything else to compete in my near future.

The crust reminded me of those crunchy Asiago cheese crusts and packed a great flavor AND crunch. Their ranch was blah (tasted like oil instead of actual buttermilk), but I didn't really need it because the pizza was so good, so I'll give that a pass instead of downgrading to 4 stars for dip. I really want to try to hand tossed next time, loaded up with pepperoni to see if it looks like those super crunchy styles I see on Insta. Next time for sure... or maybe I'll just get the Angry Little Crybaby Italian again. The guys at the counter were very nice.

We had to go around the block multiple times before we found a space behind the parking lot behind the restaurant. When we got into the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night. There was a short waiting list that moved pretty quickly. The main reasons for going there was to try their James Beard award winning Trumpet burger. I also ordered an amber ale that was pretty good. It was good but coming from Chicago there are several burgers that I feel are better. Places like Au Chaval & Little Bad Wolf to name a few. My wife ordered a Mediterranean style pizza. Again coming from Chicago the pizza was very average. How can you compare this to Pequods or Lou Malnati? Hops draws a large crowd and really packs the people in. They have a good lively crowd w/a nice selection of food & beers. It was an enjoyable meal in a very crowd friendly. As someone with celiac disease, eating out can be stressful, but when I informed our server, he immediately reassured me that they take cross-contamination seriously and ensure a safe meal. While they do offer outdoor dining, we opted to sit inside, and the service and food were fantastic from start to finish. To drink, I started with the kiwi pineapple margarita--they offer multiple types of rims, and I went with sugar, which was delicious. The summer sangria also sounded amazing, but I stuck with the margarita since it was guaranteed gluten-free. For food, we shared the ricotta with gluten-free toast, and for my main, I had the Beyond Burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of chips that were confirmed to be safely gluten-free. Finding a place that is this accommodating, knowledgeable, and delicious is rare, and it made our trip so much better!
