We were visiting our daughter and son-in-law for the weekend, and wanted pizza for during the football game. Petrino's was recommended and it certainly did not disappoint. We ordered the Traditional crust with Ham & Pepperoni. The flavors were amazing and you can tell they use quality ingredients, especially the cheese as it was creamy and buttery and flavorful. They get pretty busy at this location, 16th St., Holland so be patient. It's basically a take-out, only 2-3 tables inside. The staff was friendly and personable, you can tell they have a lot of regulars as they greet people coming in by name. We ordered delivery during the Tulip Festival. We ordered not too far from closing time and inadvertently ordered from the wrong location - apparently our rental address means we should have ordered from the other one. The staff were audibly annoyed but agreed to deliver our order anyway rather than cancel it. I got the uncomfortable feeling that our somewhat late order was an inconvenience to the staff (I called as my wife was driving on the highway finishing up our 3 hour drive to get there). The sausage and onion pizza was good. I liked the crust, the sauce was on point, and the toppings were plentiful. The bbq chicken wings didn't have a ton of meat on them and I would not order them again. Overall, I'd choose this place over a big national chain, but I wasn't thrilled as I have been with mom and pop pizza joints in other destination towns in Western Michigan. read more

I've been craving a pizza since Sunday but everywhere in Holland seems to be closed on Sunday and/or Monday. Petrinos was closed by the time I called on Sunday night, so Tuesday it was! I called my order in and requested a medium all meat pizza, thin crust. The man on the phone told me that with the amount of meat and the moisture of the cheese and the ham that the regular crust would be better. I took his advice. I was able to pick up my pizza in 25 minutes. Parking was easy. It came out hot and fresh right as I was walking in (I was quoted 30 minutes) and I paid and left. I saw they also serve slices, all day every day according to the man at the counter. I tried to be impatient and have a slice in the car but the box is of good construction and it didn't want to open with one hand, so I was forced to wait an excruciating 2 minutes on my way home. When I got home I tore into that box and sat down for dinner. The look was good, cooked just right, ingredients laid out proportionately, and the smell - oof! At first bite the first thing I noticed was the sausage, very good. The ham was moist just as he said, with great flavor to boot. The pepperoni wasn't burnt on the edges which is great. The cheese was nice and even and had a good stretch to it. The slices were cut evenly. The crust wasn't crunchy thin but wasn't like eating a loaf of bread either. Of the 4 places to get pizza in Zeeland, Petrino's makes the best pizza. So, why the 3 stars. If you order a XL pepperoni pizza for instance don't expect more than 3 small pieces of pepperoni per slice. They really skimp on the extras. Also, what originally attracted me to Petrino's was that they were advertising Sicilian pizza on their menu. Needless to say I was sadly dissapointed. What they are serving as "Sicilian" is definitely not Sicilian pizza. As sort of a pizza snob originally from the NJ/NYC area I have tried many a Sicilian pizzas and what they are serving there is a deep dish pizza at best and then calling it a Sicilian. read more

If I'm in the area and desiring a reasonably priced pizza and they still have their 12 inch 1 topping pizza for $5 I'll probably stop in. The pizza is really good, and inexpensive but the business as a whole is a joke. Weekdays there open from 11am till 3am and sat and sun they open at 4pm. WTF? I just tried ordering some pizza twice and they won't answer the phone. This is not the first time this has happened. No business is that busy where they cant answer the phone and just put you on hold!! I drove down there, (only 10 min away from my house) and they clearly post the hours but they have a closed sign at the door. Again, WTF? Ok, I am what they call a pizza snob. Lived all over the country and it is so nice to find someone who knows what classic New York Style pizza. The bread bites or cinnamon bites are a great sweat treat to finish the job. I eat here once or twice a week and have it delivery to my office and it is alway hot and ready to go. The guys and gals there are always pleasant. No doubt this is the pizza place in Holland, leave the ugly greasy pizza from Fraco's too alone, unless you want to be disappointed. We recently held our Son's Rehearsal dinner of 25 people at Petrino's. They did and excellent job making us feel welcome and they set up the dining area for us. The locals told us this was the place to get pizza in North Holland so my wife and I ordered one night from our hotel. We're from Chicago so we're used to getting great pizza and I've traveled enough throughout the U.S. to know that good pizza elsewhere is really difficult to find. We had the Spinach Delight which we had to admit was pretty dang tasty. Whoever came up with the ingredients for this particular pizza is definitely onto something: Feta, Fresh Garlic, Tomato, Spinach, Fresh Mushrooms, Jalapeño Peppers, Mozzarella, Italian Herbs and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Husband and I ordered dinner from here last night, stromboli and pizza, the stromboli in the past is full of mozzarella cheese and comes with sauce to dip, last night ours was burnt and not very good.
