Hadn't been to a Fricker's for years, but it was a nearby option that my kid could actually find something to eat at. Plus, kids are free- every day; I thought it was just Sundays. Of course, it's more of a bar than I remembered, so no other kids and lots of adults yelling at TVs. Which were also loud, so we went back to the car and got her little headset, which muffles sound. Service was great, and very kid-centric. She got corn dogs and fries, and loved them. They have three fry options. I got two flavors of wings, garlic parm and bourbon molasses. 20, which was way too many- big and meaty wings, and though I was hungry 10 would have been enough and I had plenty of leftovers. The garlic parm were okay, not as good as at other places. The bourbon molasses were very good. I didn't go spicy even though I like heat, because none of their spicier flavors appealed to me. I have high standards for Nashville hot after having them there, and the others sounded meh. Added celery and blue cheese. Upcharge, but a nice palate cleanser. This place has some decent wings and I love their bbq -kicker sauce but make sure they coat them! They skimp on the sauce sometimes. Tonight we went for something different -ish. Frickin Chicken sandwich - small portion but was decent. My wife liked the chicken chunks with sweet Thai. I was a bit miffed that the menu clearly has mini pitchers with several beer varieties available but they were only honoring this with Bud-light which is possibly the worst "beer" ever created. Service was slow at best. I never was brought my water I requested twice when she took our drink order. Came because it's supposed to have a game room for the kids. Well when we asked (after we ordered) the way to the game room we were informed we walked through it upon entering the establishment. So it's a 5'x3' room with a few gum ball candy machines and two other claw games....really? Not only is it in the entry so I would never let my children alone by the front door, it was freezing, and not a chair for an adult to sit on why the kids wasted quarters on candy and getting ripped off by claw machines. What a joke!!! The food....well the boneless wings were so over cooked they were like jerky, the sauces were zero flavor but the butter and when we made a comment about them it was pretty much oh well and charged for additional sauces (bbq). It smelt like straight cigarettes when we walked in (after going through game room) the main entry doors. I'm not sure this is as family friendly as advertised. Without fail, ALWAYS DISAPPOINTS. Been living in Vandalia for 5+years and it got so bad I didn't eat there for 2 years because they could never properly cook the food. Decided to give it a try again since I was given a gift card and it was just as I remembered, terrible. Burger was partially raw. How can you serve a burnt burger that's still raw? They didn't add all the toppings I requested. They at least cooked my fries all the way this time, only because I asked for extra crispy. Customer service was fine. Nothing to appraise. I like the garlic wings, but the last two times I've visited- the wings barely had any sauce ON them, and when I pointed this out and requested some additional garlic sauce to cover the rest of my dry wings.. I was charged extra for the garlic sauce I asked for? If I order garlic wings, the garlic sauce should already be ON the wings.. Waitresss was absolutely clueless about menu and why prices were different on our check (happy hour), didn't tell us when happy was or it was ending, had to be reminded twice just to refill my water. Chicken wings were bad as in 'not cooked properly' or 'bad meat' because the meat was rubbery/squishy and had an odor. I opened up two more wings to check them and they all were this same way. When I brought this to the attention of our server she took the plate away and a manager came to our table and said " I understand the wings did not meet your satisfaction" what a good try at putting it back on me buddy. Your chicken is BAD and you are trying to put that on me. Taking one bite made me sick! My Wife felt like her ribeye steak sandwich was really old meat and it had that old meat odor to it as well. She did not bother addressing it. They did refund my chicken wings cost, but they made no genuine attempt at service recovery tonight. Called in and ordered 50 boneless, plain, and 6 sauces on the side. Got there and they had 25 plain and 25 in the hottest sauce coated all over it.... I asked them to fix it. I've been standing here 15 minutes so far waiting for an order of 25 plain boneless while the rest of my food goes cold. They didn't label my sauces either. Do yourself a favor and go to Bunkers next door instead, or even bdubs where they at least seem to know what they are actually doing. First let me say the service was very good. Very fast and attentive. Food tasted good also. The building itself is run down and in a run down location. It is dark inside and not in a good way. Part of our order was forgotten and waitress just said "oh yeah", by the time the remainder of our food was brought out 1/2 our food was gone or cold. Love going to frickers when we visit from Texas... never again!!!! Floor was soooo sticky our shoes were stinking with every step... the menus were sooooo disgusting all of them(15) not just some. Customer service was horrible... we gave the waitress totally understanding of being new and slow etc... BUT when you are asking for things and she ONLY listens to half and walks off... it was rude.. I know everyone has to start new at some point but you should also be a lil more customer friendly knowing YOU are in a learning situation. Great little place for wings. I messed up and ordered the buffalo chicken salad and 10 wings with their hottest sauce. It wasn't the sauce that was my mistake. I've been to Fricker's before, but I forgot to order the wings naked. I don't care for battered chicken wings as much, but they were still delicious. Their hottest sauce is really crazy hot, but thankfully they bring it as a side and dip your wings in the second hottest. The buffalo chicken salad was huge and enough food on it's own. Hello! I wanted to post to compliment the Vandalia store from our visit on Saturday, Feb 20. My family had come to Ohio from Georgia and Florida for the funeral of an elderly family member. Her funeral was that morning and by that evening, the 13 of us were hungry, tired, and weary. We attempted to dine at TJ Chumps and after the host sighed heavily at us and was quite rude ("Really? 13? You've got to be kidding. You'll be lucky if I can seat by the end of the night."), we called the Vandalia Frickers where the host cheerfully let us know she was on a small wait, but that if we came over, she'd make sure we would get a table. We arrived a few minutes later, added our name to the wait, and ordered a couple of beers from the bar. The bartender was knowledgeable of the different beers on tap and helped guide my husband on choosing a local one he would like. After about 10 minutes, the Manager, Todd, came over and let us know he had 2 tables near each other that just came open and to give him a few more minutes to get it ready. Once seated, our server was AMAZING! I wish I could remember her name, but she handled the 13 of us, spread across 2 tables, with efficiency and joyfulness. The drinks were refilled, plates were bussed, she answered questions from a place of knowledge, and generally was just a delight. I spoke to Todd, General Manager, and let him know what our day entailed, how we ended up at his location, and how grateful we were for all they did to make our dinner stress-free and dare I say an enjoyable one. I cannot adequately convey the impact Todd and his staff had on our family. On perhaps one of the hardest days on our family, Todd and his staff were a place of rest and comfort. They may never think of us again, but they will always be remembered fondly in our family. Thank you. read more

I was in town for a family members funeral service last September. While I was there... I took a group of 10 family members to the Fricker's in Vandalia for dinner and drinks. At our table, our server did a fantastic job taking care of us. My total bill including tip was $488.82 and processed at 10:32 PM. I had absolutely no issues with the service at our table whatsoever. After we closed the bill at the table, everyone in my group hung out for a little while longer and left our table a little after 11:15 PM. Me and my cousin ended up going to the bar to hang out while and catch up some more since we rarely get to see each other. While at the bar...we both had 1 shot of Fireball to celebrate my retirement from the military and then switched to water after that. The bartender was not very attentive to us after we switched to water and was hanging out at the other end of the bar with a group of people that she seemed to already know. I ended up asking for the bill a little after midnight when I called for my ride to come get me. A little bit later...the bartender told me that I was good to go and gave me my card without a receipt. I thought nothing of it and left. Unfortunately for me... I don't review my credit card activity in detail too often and it took until last week for me notice that there was a transaction for $488.82 (which was mine from our table) along with another transaction for $446.44. Thinking that this must have been an honest mistake... I called the Fricker's location and spoke to their manager. He sent me the itemized receipts via e mail and I immediately knew that something was wrong. The bill of $446.44 closed out at 12:30 AM and literally had about 50 drinks on it. I was completely shocked to say the least. My reply to the manager when I called him was that I would like to have the bill refunded except for the 2 shots of Fireball. He stated that he spoke to the bartender and the bartender said that I bought every drink at the bar the entire time I was at the bar. That statement is ridiculous and completely untrue. However, the manager was still not willing to refund the second charge to my card. Due to the fact that it took me over 120 days to catch the false charge... my credit card company won't let me dispute it. (Lesson Learned... Review credit card statements in detail monthly going forward.) At this point... I have left a message with the Fricker's Corporate office and have yet to get a reply back. The most unfortunate thing regarding this entire situation is that for years and years I have always made it a point to go to Fricker's with my family and friends when I come to visit Ohio. However, after this bogus charge, the response from the manager, as well as the lack of response from the corporate office... I don't think I will ever go back there again. All they had to do was right a wrong and so far... They have chosen to do nothing. My advice to anyone going to this specific location... Please make sure to always ask your bartenders for the receipt... especially if they are hanging out with a large group of people at the other end of the bar and hand you your card telling you that you are good to go without a receipt. If you don't... you may end up paying for $446.44 of drinks that you didn't order. read more

I love this Frickers as it is laid back. It is a great place to get wings and watch a game. You know they will be busy during big sporting events and slow when there aren't any. The best deal is kids eat free with an accompanying adult meal. So it is a great place to eat cheap with the family. I recommend the Frickin pizza. read more
