This is a cool little pizza place and brewery. The ciders are delicious and the pizza the same. The service was average for an order at the counter place. It was the dinner rush so it was like 40 mins from order to pizza at the table. I wish there was an easier way to get more to drink than wait in the line. I'll eat there again and again. read more

Vandalia's local brewery is a great place to hang with friends. They have plenty of tables inside as well a patio section. The staff are friendly, you have to order at the front counter and they deliver your food. Great pizza selection with GF options. The bartenders were friendly, helpful and efficient. The interior was inviting and had plenty of TVs to watch the game. I had the wings which were dry run and truly fall off of the bone tender. I keep an eye on the pizza of the week at Hairless Hare because they are all so unique, so if one catches my eye we make the 30+ minute drive from Springboro. Tonight was just such a night; I saw the meatball pizza on facebook and it looked so good. We went to order it and (wah-wah) that was LAST week's pizza! Completely my mistake but I was so bummed. So, we went ahead and ordered their actual pizza of the week, which was chicken ranch. Before she rang us out, the cashier was sure to let us know that it would be a 45 minute to an hour wait but we were in no hurry so that was fine. Hubby got a flight of beers and I got a chocolate peanut butter porter, which was rich and delicious. Our pizza came out in just 30 minutes instead of the longer time we were given which was great! The pizza was good, but probably not as good as some of the combinations we've had in the past, but that's just personal preference. read more

This place was recommended by a Vandalia local. I'm not really a "pizza" person, however I have to say this pizza was phenomenal! Interesting mix of flavors, amazing pizza crust (wish I had a side of marinara dipping sauce for them!) BF ordered the salmon pizza- I know that does not sound appealing, but with the mix of capers, dill and balsamic vinegar along with cheese, I would definitely order this again. I had pizza w mushrooms and blue cheese, also delicious, but I preferred my BF's salmon pizza. Chef has a "pizza of the month" which, again, is not run of the mill pepperoni and sausage. For a busy Saturday dinner, we were served within 20 minutes. Ambience is bar-casual, family friendly. They also had an extensive beer selection. Solid brewery has a family and causal vibe. Had a good selection of beers to offer. They had their good ones and not so good. But that is open to debate based on taste we did a flight of all 8 beers available. The food was spot on for us, we had 3 different pizza's (salmon, meat lovers and bbq), smoked wings and chips and salsa. Was a nice stop on an overnight trip for us! We stopped in on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. The Gnarly Pumpkin sour was probably one of the best pumpkins I have ever had and I don't usually like sours. The Hop*pocrisy was wonderfully hoppy which is my speed. The food was really good. I would recommend the smoked wings and do t worry about getting a sauce with it, you won't need any. They just fall off the bone too. The meatball sub is really good and the pizza sauce they use is delicious so I'm guessing the pizza is good too. When you order you go up to the bar but they ask which table you are sitting at and they bring the food to the table. So don't sit down and expect a waitress because you won't get one, but everyone is friendly and they are truly glad you're there. I wish this place was closer to home because we would be regulars. A little pricey considering we ate on paper plates, served ourselves, and waited an hour and a half for our food. The wings tasted great but not worth the wait by any means. The mushroom pesto pizza was flavorless and bland but the crust was soft and the ranch was good. Overall, a pretty bad experience and we will not be back. Stopped in as part of a quick road trip for some food and a brew. Treated to a great selection of both! We had a flight of beers, and really loved their peanut butter chocolate porter, barrel aged stout (Old Fo) and IPA. Their hazy IPA was a little thin and short on hops for our taste, but they had a great selection of flavors, as well as a huge list of meads as well (not our thing) It was a tough call between the pizza and the wings, but we were sold on the wings by our counter person (you order at counter and the food is brought to you). They come dry rubbed, and can be tossed in sauce or have them on the side. We chose the sauces on the side, and the sweet Thai was our favorite. The reportedly super hot chocolate habanero really wasn't all that hot, and the Buffalo was tasty but seemed a lot like Frank's (not that there's anything wrong w that). Atmosphere was really good, with a wide selection of tables to choose from. Didn't care much for some of the fluorescent lighting in a couple of areas (turn those off and use softer lighting), but the dining area was very cozy and inviting overall. Come here with a couple of friends for the first time and was not disappointed. I used to love mead, but haven't been to a meadery or anywhere that offers mead in years. I loved their mixed berry mead as well as their cranberry mead. I tried the blackberry cider as well and thought it was the perfect sweet-tart mix. The first thing you may note is the "ugly mug" wall - handmade pottery, numbered, and already owned by original patrons in a special club; affording the owner benefit of filling the mug at a set price and an occasional discount for purchases. We are not this fortunate - but it's a really intriguing concept I've seen just a few times before. It makes for a lot of visual interest as well. The real claim to fame here are the beverages. As the name would suggest, this is a craft brewery with a rotating list of beers to enjoy. Flights are available if you wish to sample before committing to a larger pour... In addition to the craft beers, there are also several frozen drinks to choose from AND fruit-based meads. The meads are available as flights as well - if you've never had a mead; the flight is a small sample and a good way to try them. (I find them a bit too sweet; but fun) The food menu is limited; but quite good. You won't find burgers or the typical fried items here - what you will find is a great pizza menu and a few other tidbits. The best thing on their menu, in my opinion are the smoked chicken wings. Order a few sauces on the side and enjoy this platter of perfectly cooked chicken wings that fall off the bone and work so well with the sauces. Sold (roughly) by the pound, it is a substantial portion and easy to share. The structure of the restaurant is pretty easy. You approach one of the cashier locations and place your drink order, taking a table number if you choose to order any food. You seat yourself inside or outside on the patio. The food is delivered to your table. You pay in advance, including a small fee for credit card purchases. Tips: 1. Don't skip the chicken wings. 2. Order sauce(s) on the side - try 2-3 different sauces. Just trust me on this - small investment and great with the chicken. 3. Bring cash. There is a factoring / service charge if you pay by credit card. This is not common - but understandable. Did you know vendors pay up to 3% of the charge amount for the convenience? Yep. Credit card providers charge you interest (if you carry a balance) and also charge the vendor for the service. Friday September 25, 2020 This was our second time at Hairless Hair. Our first time was a couple of years ago. It's seems like the place has expanded and the beer has definitely improved a lot! We came in for just one beer: Nicole had their DIPA and I had a Peanut Butter Chocolate Porter which were both very good. While we didn't stay for food the pizza here looks gourmet! Can't wait to come back for some. On the walls now are hundreds of mug-member's mugs, created by famed, local Sculpture Artist Sally Watson of Tipp City, and with your memberships beer and food are marked down appreciably. Apparently another 100 mugs will be auctioned around X-Mas time or if anyone breaks theirs in a drunken stupor, which is hard to do as the clay Sally uses is very dense. (I happen to be a proud owner of one of these mugs myself, but not a member). However, when membership opens up again, please save me and my family 5 spots! I like the ample seating options inside and out. Parking was also easy as this is part of a strip mall. This is an awesome local brewery close to home and glad it's part of our neighborhood where we will be frequenting often. read more

First time I've stopped in since they opened some years ago. They have expanded. There's plenty of seating and I love the open atmosphere. Upon entering you will approach the bar and order your drinks and food. The tables are numbered, so you'll be asked for your table number and then the food will be brought to you when it's ready. This time we arrived around 3:30 in the afternoon, so there was not a crowd at all. I especially found the walls of really ugly mugs amusing. They have a nice selection of craft beers and meads. I do wish they had the darker lagers because I am not a fan of Pale Ales. The menu is not extensive and you will not find "bar food" here. The menu has several mouthwatering selections, I consider the food more upscale, like a bistro. The thin crust is exactly that...THIN AND CRISPY! We opted for the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Three Bavarian Pretzel Sticks and Beer Cheese. I opted for the Mixed Berry Mead and Dean chose OH Scarlet Ale. The food was good, except for the beer cheese, which was very thick and bland. I think this was the "house beer cheese" because I didn't specify. The pizza was very good, but a bit spicy for me. We've been in Ohio for a little over a year and this is the first place we've actually been impressed with! We're from the south and food up here doesn't come close or taste like home...until tonight! Service was quick, the smoked wings were incredibly succulent and fall off the bone tender. The Carne pizza was sweet and savory. All the toppings were real and quality. And of course we can't forget about the brews! I'm not a huge ciders, sours, or porter person but after tonight I am! I was blown away by the chocolate peanut butter porter. It was rich and creamy and the flavor was perfection. This is a nice microbrewery in Vandalia that also serves food. It's worthy! Try it, you'll like it! It's self serve, you order at the bar. They do bring pizza to your table. I tried the American ale and the Rye the hell knot. The brewers do a nice job on these but I'd prefer the American ale. The rye has a finish that is reminiscent of Christmas candy, not something I would want in a beer. We also had the blue mushroom pizza. Ok, this definitely is a cut above the tasteless Dayton pizza we are is infamously known for. It gets a big recommend from me and goes into my best pizza listing. Hairless Hare is the most interesting place in Vandalia. It's located in a crummy strip mall across from the airport. This is quite the surprise. It's odd a place this cool is surrounded by crap. The owners are very knowledgeable about beer and are happy to talk about it. I had the Whirlfloced. It's about $6 for a pint. This is one of their newer beers and has been promoted. It's a light tasting lager. This is easy tasting enough that it's easy to drink several of these. It also has some food. I had the hummus and pita. This is about $3 and comes with lots of pita slices. It's good if you can find it. It's close to the Scherer Chevrolet lot. The shopping plaza has lots of parking spaces. read more

Counter staff was friendly. Got a small cheese pizza, perfectly fine, and the bbq brisket quesadilla(decent) and Gouda and tortilla chips appetizer (suggestion - maybe pita or pita chips instead? The saltiness of the tortilla chips overwhelms the mild smokiness of the cheese). Got *mondo* busy at 630 pm on a Friday - if you can, I'd show up earlier.
