Absolutely AMAZING!! My husband and I are frequent Mexican restaurant diners and we're extremely pleased to have come across this gem of a place. We had the street corn and cheese dip for appetizers, both of which were amazing. I ordered the Hawaiian Fajitas and my husband ordered the Birria Ramen. We could immediately tell that they do not play when it comes to providing fresh tasting, quality ingredients. 11/10! Our waiter was also amazing. He was very nice, attentive, and we felt like everything he did was very timely. The ambiance was impeccable. In from out of town on a biz trip and stopped here because the reviews were good and I could walk to it from my hotel. Place was very busy on a Tuesday night which is a good sign. Unfortunately that made me - a solo diner - pretty much ignored the entire time. But I get it...and the food made up for it. It was really really good. Chips and salsa were excellent as were the tortillas. And - a big one for me - the beans were the color of beans, not that gross gray/lard color you see at many Mexican restaurants. We have a favorite Mexican restaurant and we decided to give this place a try because it's new to the neighborhood. We stopped in and we were greeted right away and seated in a booth. The restaurant is extremely clean and the staff are very very friendly. I asked for a recommendation, and our waitress said the flautas birria so I I went for those and my husband had the burrito supreme, which I'm surprised I even got a picture of it because he ate it so fast. It was two for one margaritas so I went for that and my husband had a cold beer. I think we have found a new favorite place. Everything was so fresh. I forgot to mention that we also had the trio dip which had queso dip, fresh, guacamole, and chorizo, queso dip. We probably shouldn't have ordered that only because we ate it so fast we filled up I had to take some of my dinner home, which it will make a great breakfast I highly recommend this restaurant. It's kind of hard to get into because it only has one entrance one exit area, but it is so worth it. Do not miss out. It's fabulous. read more

We were just sitting at the stoplight near the Corry Station gate when the taco craving hit, and we decided to pull right over. Best decision of the day! We came for the tacos and they did not disappoint. Their authentic street tacos (like Al Pastor and Carne Asada) are served on fresh, handmade corn tortillas that make a world of difference. If you want to branch out, they also have incredible Honduran pupusas and baleadas. NOTE FOR GOOGLE MAPS USERS: When searching, you might see two different listings--"Frida's Cantina" and "Frida's Cantina Brunch & Dinner"--but don't be confused! It is actually just one restaurant located at 1 N New Warrington Rd. It recently replaced El Taco Baleado, so some older maps might still show that name, but Frida's is the place to be. read more

A cute and quiet restaurant with friendly staff. It was our first time here and it won't be our last! The place was clean and not crowded at all. There was a good amount of people but the place isn't small, so it felt like there was good spacing between customers. The food was amazing. Very flavorful and tasty. We got street tacos and they reminded us of the street tacos we get back home. They were very good and the sauces were spicy! Then we got the quesabrilla and those were so good! Loved dipping them in the sauce they came with which gave the tacos just more flavor. read more

We have been several times but this time we brought friends from Ohio. The had never had Charro beans! I know right insane. The food is always delicious the employees are very nice & know the menu. I ordered the QuesoBarria tacos and a side of Pastor street taco. Pastor is a technique the Mexican acquired from Libyans who migrated to Mexico and brought the gyro vertical broiler. Birria is a popular Mexican dish that originated in the Jalisco state in Mexico. I wanted to compare the two. Both tasted really good and each have their distinct flavor. I noticed they also offer pupusas which I will try the next time. There two other things that stood out from the menu... 1. Mole Enchiladas (I am curious about the mole sauce) and 2. Molcajete. Finally, a Mexican restaurant in town that serves Horchata. It's a refreshing drink made from rice and cinnamon. They also offer a taste of Honduras (see menu), and they serve breakfast/brunch fare. They also offer lunch menu Monday - Friday. If you are tired of Americanized Mexican food like Taco Bell, 850, or El Paso Mexican Grill, then come to Frida's Cantina for some authentic Mexican and Honduras food. Also with all the Mexican restaurants in Pensacola, in my opinion there are only two that are special. Frida's just became one of the two. The other is down Navy Blvd called La Barra Del Taco. Staff were friendly. Dining room is clean and lots of space. Parking is limited because the motel next door is under renovations due to hurricane damage. There is no entrance on Chief's Way (for now). You can only turn into the parking lot on New Warrington heading towards NAS. read more

Great pupusas! Love the cortido and pickled onions on the side. Very much enjoyed the chips and salsa that we were greeted with. Didn't care much for the Frida's enchiladas with steak on top. Steak was a bit tough and not much of it. The sauce was overpowering with chili powder. It was just ok. Good margaritas and 2 for 1 all day making them appropriately priced. $15 for a giant one. So $7.50 each. Good service. We went twice while visiting. read more

I've driven by this place multiple times and wanted to stop. They advertise Birria which always intrigues me. Upon entering I was promptly greeted by a wonderful sweet lady and I asked to sit at the bar. I ordered the cucumberRita which was wonderful. The chips were great the salsa is amazing it's the runny homemade kind that I really like. I ordered Frida's nachos, and a side order of Charro beans. The food came out quickly and I tried the Charro beans first... Let me tell you the flavor is amazing. Very wonderful, however, I paid $4.99 for ALa Carte beans, and the amount of beans in there were less than if it was bean soup that I ordered. I'm not even kidding. There was more juice than there was beans and I was very disappointed. Nick came in nachos... They were advertised with shrimp beef and chicken on top of tortilla chips with refried beans sour cream lettuce pico de gallo and jalapeños... Also advertise that there was queso on top. The nachos chips were not very plentiful it was rather small portion. The shrimp was cut up to make it appear like there was more there wasn't much shrimp the chicken and beef had been prepared plenty of time ahead so it wasn't hot and fresh. But the thing that bothered me the most is it didn't have beans on it, the lettuce was wet on the side, the pico and pickled jalapeños on the side. No sour cream and hardly any queso on the nachos. This is not at all what I expected when spending $18.99 on nachos. I really wanted to like this place, but I'm gonna let you know that just down the street is a place that serves plenty of queso on their nachos, plenty of fresh meat and more plentiful portions. I'm not sure if I'll go back and give it a try again there's hundreds of Mexican places around here to eat that I usually don't give them a second chance. read more

Excellent food and service. We just happened to be in the area. What a gem. I had the pupusa all home made and delicious with a very good pickled slaw and tomato salsa for dipping. Hubby had street tacos carne asada with tender meat and house made torillas very tasty. He also tried the chili Rellanos and it was huge and delicious. Our server had a Frida vibe and was excellent.
