Going to a dentist has always been filled with anxiety for me. When I was told I had to have an…read moreextraction and that I had a deep rooted infection I was besides myself. I was referred to Dr. Nelson by my general dentist. It was a Saturday and was told it would be difficult to see an oral surgeon with such short notice. I was extremely swollen and in a lot of pain. Saturday evening Dr. Nelson contacted me despite being out of town. He assured me he would be able to see and treat me on Sunday....on a Sunday! Sunday, I was greeted by his assistant Chris who was so kind and helpful right from start. Dr. Nelson was start to finish AMAZING!! He took me right away, explained in detail what was needed and assured me throughout the procedure that I was going to do fine. He was very informative, provided me with a copy of the X-ray and discussed other things he felt were important to take care of as well. I am a busy Full Time working mom and I tend to let my things pass for the sake of doing for my kids and my family. It was nice to feel that it was not something to be embarrassed about and that my issues can be corrected simply with proper treatment and care. The calm that I felt was refreshing from my past daunting experiences. I went a couple of days later for a follow up and didn't even make it to a chair to sit down, he greeted me and took me straight away. The vibe is so caring and friendly, it felt like I had been going to his office for years. Thank you so much to Dr. Nelson and everyone at East End Oral Surgery! You definitely know how to treat the Patient and not just the issue! Respectfully, Debra from Medford NY

I guess there comes a time in one's life when a tooth needs to be removed. My dentist in NYC…read morerecommended some oral surgeon in Manhattan. The office was very nice. He was extremely expensive. So, I decided to look around and found Dr. Park at Leading Edge. Pulling up to Selden... I was extremely hesitant. The office is in a bit of a run down medical strip mall. The parking lot is big and there are a few flowers and bushes by the office but overall it is somewhat ah old...maybe from the 1970s? Once inside Leading Edge, well things were the same. The AC was blasting away. I immediately wished i was wearing a sweater.A few people were waiting in old chairs. Everyone was staring at their phone. There was a large TV screen on one wall showing some game show. The receptionists sat in a small off shoot of the office. They were very attentive, fast, and professional! Though still hesitant, I was somewhat at ease. After a wait of a few minutes I was led by a dental assistant into the "operating area". The room they put me in was sparse but professional. Super clean. Computers and brand new modern dental equipment. Unfortunately there was a large TV in the room showing a kind of MTV kind of show. The history of rock and roll. Oh, how I hate the music from the 1950s! HATE. Anyway --- Dr. Park came into the room. He was young, smart, and professional. He looked at my x-rays and examined my teeth. He agreed that the tooth ( left upper molar that had root canal a long time ago ) needed to be pulled. He explained everything to me. The whole process of extraction and implantation. The dental assistant sent me off to billing. I received an itemized proposal which was 50% of the Manhattan guy. Fifty - percent! An appointment was made for the extraction and to make a long story short --- everything went very smoothly. Two weeks later I returned to have the extraction. They even called me the next day to check up on my condition. And now for the implant! I am almost looking forward to it...Almost.

I recently had seven successful implants and one extraction done by Dr. Capuano, and the experience…read morewas truly exceptional. This was my fourth oral surgery, but my first time at this office. My previous three surgeries were at a different office. I actually liked the oral surgeon, and during our consultation, he felt confident that he could successfully place two or three implants. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. The first surgery was extracting five teeth, the second one was attempting to place the implants and the third was removing them after they failed. If I had remained with that office, the surgeon explained that one possible treatment was a mesh implant, but estimated it had only about a 50% chance of success. Another option was dentures, which was incredibly discouraging. The difference in the final results between these two offices is night and day. Before, my mouth was left raw, red, and incredibly painful. This time, Dr. Capuano's work was clean and stitched up beautifully. He and his entire staff were amazing, compassionate, and answered all of my questions . They turned a stressful situation into a massive success. I cannot recommend Dr. Capuano highly enough! This is my complaint to the New York Department State Division of Consumer Protection. File No…read more 20150411-143650. The Dentist did not respond to them after several letters. If they dont respond to the Department of State does this mean they are not a high caliber organization ? I made an appointment with the above dentist . I told them that I already had x rays for the broken tooth in question. I said that they were emailed to me. I asked if I could email them and they said no. I asked if I printed them are they good. They said sometimes. They said they had no email to send them to. I had this same conversation more than once. They said they were making a "limited appointment" just to look at this tooth. On the day of the appointment I brought two xrays of the tooth in question and bite xrays from a month before those. They said I had to give them my social security number or they would not see me. When I was called in the girl said that I had to have a whole mouth of xrays. I told her I previously discussed this and was not having a full panel xray and that I brought xrays. I believe in not needlessly repeating xrays because the are not good for you. The dentist then came in and looked at the tooth. He said I needed a crown and he would see if the xrays were acceptable to get a coverage pre approval. After several minutes a woman came in and said the xrays were insufficient and said that I had to have the full mouth taken. I asked specifically what the problem was. I also said I have the original xrays available on computer. She said things such as :"your giving everybody a hard time" and "I have room full,of patients" and she didnt have time to discuss it. She said I could go to another dentist. I would think that a health professional would sympathize with a patient not getting the same xrays twice I then asked if I could speak to the dentist again. She went out and came back and said it was "non negotiable".Apparently the dentist would not discuss it. I dont know if she handles his dirty work. She also said "you were told about having to get the full xrays before you came in". I told them this was absolutely not the case. She insisted it was because the office manager said so. She apparently was now calling me a liar. Having politely listened to her previous statements I now said that it was the office manager who was the liar. She then said "get out" which I happily did. She refused to give me her name. How would I know that printed xrays from my computer were sometimes good and sometimes not if this was not the discussion. I would have to be very foolish to come in if they told me about having to get all these xrays in advance knowing that I didn't agree to them. -------------------. As the Division of Consumer Protection is set up to resolve disputes through voluntary settlement, we are unable to take any further action in this matter. If anyone has such experience with this dental office they should report it. Rate MD has reviews with the office manager called "horrific, nasty, obnoxious, rude" Yahoo has numerous 1 star reviews, the one review on vitals is a single star. They said he should get another dentist when he had a complaint about something. Healthgrades has them listed below average in all eight categories of patient experiences. I think a patient should know what kind of abuse he is in for when he sees a particular dentist. What type of patient would go near this place?
