She looked at my prescription, asked a few questions and confidently gave me her recommendations, went over my warranty and the best ways to take advantage of the warranty. I had special complications with a special lens. Their techs worked hard on it and now I can see great in the dark when dealing with oncoming headlights on these bright lights from opposing traffic. I've been a patient of Dr. Friedman for over 10 years and am blind in my right eye due to cancer. Over the weekend, my left eye started acting up, and I was terrified I might go blind. Seeking immediate help, I called UCLA and booked an appointment for Thursday, I showed up on Monday morning, desperate for care. Over the weekend I read too much and I think my glasses need an update because my eye was acting funny, Unfortunately, the front desk staff was dismissive and cold. I spoke to three people Despite explaining my emotional state and the urgency of my situation, I just wanted him to see me for a second, they denied me access and showed no empathy whatsoever. This experience was deeply upsetting I just left, none of the cared, they didn't even call me back. While I've trusted Dr. Friedman for years, the lack of care and compassion from the staff is unacceptable. The customer service here is awful. Do not use the dishonest shop. See how many other one star reviews there are. I came in for an exam and glasses and I had to wait over an hour to see the optometrist! After the exam I looked at glasses and the optician that "helped" me showed me four pair of glasses. When you call in and are put on hold for 3-4 minutes, they advertise that they have over 5000 eyeglasses to choose from, but I was only showing four of them. I left without buying any glasses and taking my prescription only because of the lack of attention. I left them a negative review based on the poor customer experience and within 15 minutes, received a phone call from the office manager Jacqueline. She practically begged me to come in and said that she would give me a discount considering what happened. She said that my review was honest and that she wouldn't want me to take the review down, but when I agreed to come in and see what kind of discount she would offer me, she "suggested" I might remove the review. So I went back and did purchase the glasses and did take down my original review. Today, when I went to pick up the glasses, customer service was terrible once again. Some staff member gave me the glasses and walked off. Nobody came to help me see if I needed an adjustment or check on the fit or anything. I waited around for 10 minutes for somebody to come by and finally went to the back where the office manager and two other staff members were laughing and chatting. I told them how the customer service really is bad and Jacqueline jumped up and tried to placate me. She asked "who was helping you?" and I said I didn't know. She called for somebody to get me a case which they did right away. When I asked why I had to wait for somebody to help me, she said the staff member was getting the case! That was simply BS! If someone had been getting a case, they would have done so within the 10 seconds it took her to get a case! I mentioned that I'm going to leave a review and she tried to persuade me not to. Since I got home 10 minutes ago, she has called me twice! Talk about even worse customer service bugging me. On the voicemail she left, she said she'd give me a free pair of readers! Outright bribery. I'm leaving this review for other people to know the truth about this place. Do not go here! Terrible customer service. I was in need of new eyeglasses and saw this place while walking by. Their sign clearly says Walk-Ins Welcome. That was definitely not the case. When I entered I felt nothing "Welcoming". I told them I was looking for new eye glasses. I was asked to sign in which I did. They didn't say anything else to me. I walked around looking at some eyeglasses. Nobody bothered to ask if I needed any help. The optometrist came out and said hi to another patient, looked at me, but didn't even acknowledge my existence. Guess I should have worn my rolex and loafers. After some time I ask someone at the desk for help. She asked if I checked in which I thought I had. Then another lady asked me if I have a prescription. I told her I did but didn't have it with me as I was walking by just wanted to look at frames. She then says she would need my prescription, photo ID, and insurance. Just to look at glasses I ask? Yes she says. Then all the people at the front desk look at me like I'm crazy. It's places like this that make people want to shop online. This is a funky business. Start with the front desk, where no one listened to why I was there and started me in an exam for glasses when I'd told them I wanted a new contact lens prescription. The optometrist grumbled "They told me you wanted glasses," then gave me the most perfunctory vision exam I've ever had. (I'm not young and I've been wearing lenses since I was 15.) He told me I needed a different correction in one eye but never actually had me try a lens with that prescription so I could see how it worked for me. As I discovered when I tried the sample lens they sent me off with: it wasn't good. Waste of time and money. I would not go back or recommend. Below, "Simone F" says that I told reception I wanted an exam for glasses. This is absolutely not true. I have glasses. Hi ALL. I feel like i needed to leave this review because its been overdue. To start off i ONLY started going to this optometry because my sister works here so she suggested to come in. Mind you my whole family probably has already came here and they all have had a bad experience. The staff is rude and literally have no type of customer service. The main manager not sure her name is very hospitable but whats the point of being like that when your staff that actually deal with the guest are not like that. You come here and they all look like they dont want to be there. I personally work with guest and we make sure to emphasize being guests obsessed. I definitely feel like the staff here need like a reality check and get re trained or just let go. I have talked to my sister multiple times of the experiences and it just doesn't get any better. Another thing to add i have been waiting on glasses for about a month now so if you want your glasses quick this is definitely not the place. I really hope the atmosphere here gets fixed as you just lost a whole family that would go expecting 10/10 service but got 1/10. Thank you. read more

Ophelia and Emily greeted me at the reception area and were super helpful even though I was walking in with out an appointment. I was coming in to see if they could repair a few pair of glasses that were broken. They reached out to Tim in the back and asked me to step back and wait. Tim came out and was very friendly. I showed him the glasses that needed repair and he said that he thought he would be able to help me out...he took the glasses and went into the back. Dr. gave me the wrong prescription, and when I told him it was incorrect, and that I couldn't see clearly with the sample contacts they gave me, he refused to believe me, and said that my glasses were the prescription he gave me. We literally argued about whether or not I can see clearly. Then when I went back to try and get my correct prescription, I told them I couldn't see clearly, and the woman helping me said I'd get used to it. Sure, now I'm used to somewhat blurry vision and get headaches. Quoted a very high price on contacts, then negotiated when I showed a lower price online. Needed "proof" so I wouldn't be forced to pay extra for contact lens training. I heard the only guy at the front desk say very aggressively to a staff member: "what part of 'follow me' don't you understand." Front desk staff also don't greet when you go in or acknowledge you while answering calls or chatting with each other. Run! read more

Absolute nonsense contact fitting thing - do NOT sign that - Holds your Rx hostage to force you to order from them and return (so they can bill for a 2nd appointment). ANY other Doc you can order from anyone you want. Purposely overbooked so everyone waits 45 minutes WITH an appointment (read reviews 1 in every 5 days the same thing.) Doctor was friendly. Tech was OK. Front desk: Barely tolerating their job. I would fire my entire staff if they were this lot - no way would I want these people representing the business, they don't LIKE people - ANY customers. Hadn't written down a thing when they took my appointment despite looking up my insurance and asking ALL of the same questions. NOT high tech - 3 machines only compared to my previous doctor's 6 (they aren't especially friendly either, but latest in high tech and professional I can handle). read more

I went to this office I was greeted with a friendly staff. The eyeglass technician there was extremely helpful. He readjusted my glasses, clean them and made sure they fit perfectly on my face. I am in charge of a special-needs person. The doctor was very gentle went slow with her, and we were able to get her a new prescription for her glasses. The technician then made sure her glasses were fitting perfectly on her face and gave them a nice deep cleaning. I would recommend this location to anyone. To be honest I was hesitant to come back as I did my last eye exam and took over 2 months to get my contacts. However I really liked the doctor and was only getting glasses this time. As expected Dr Levin was exceptional and quick. And the staff this time around was exceptional. Always a pleasant experience when visiting this optometry office. The staff are courteous and provide immediate service. In particular, Tim has been especially kind as I've had issues with my glasses when the lens became loose, or the handles needed adjustment, etc. On several occasions during the past year I've had issues with my frames and Friedman Optometry is closer to my residence than my current Optometrist's office, so I have gone into Friedman's office with my glasses in hand and TIM has helped me. He's been the BEST, always the same, kind, courteous, professional, and helpful. He knows the ins and outs of eyeglass frames, can quickly spot frame issues, and has been able to help me each time with with quick fixes to my frames, whether tightening them, straightening them, or securing the lens within the frame. I'm a veteran and was sent here because it was close to where i live and the VA appt times were considered too long. I'd rather wait 10 years than go back to this place! It's a VERY small space and they had WAY too many people stuffed in there. They clearly overbook and could care less how long you wait.
