I made an appointment online (easy!) and was able to see him in just two days (convenient). You can fill out all the forms online so the doctor knows about your issue and background before you get there. Casey's office is centrally located with lots of parking, so it's easy to get to. Dr. Casey himself is welcoming and has a relaxing warm energy. He's a strong guy--and also gentle. I appreciated the way he could feel where my pain was. The initial hour visit included him really listening to me about my issues, and then him working hard in various modalities to help me feel better. He did massage, needling (acupuncture, but directly into the affected muscles), cupping, and chiropractic adjustments. He also taught me two exercises I could do at home to specifically address my problem areas. I felt better immediately--much less soreness from my back, and no soreness from the adjustment. I made a 30-minute follow-up visit the next week where he once again used adjustments, massage, needling and cupping to further help me. After two years of patronizing this business and sending my entire family to him out of loyalty, instead of sticking to his job, Dr. Buenviaje began to pester us for home improvement advice during adjustments and make judgmental remarks about my weightlifting lifestyle and body (he is uneducated about strength training). The last straw was in June when he grabbed a part of my body, wriggled it in his hand, and proclaimed, "Look at this pad of fat! Barbells cause it. I see this only on men. I don't encounter it in women." Unprofessional, sexist, and inaccurate on multiple levels. I left his examining room feeling upset and informed his front desk staff of what had occurred. She made an appointment for him to telephone me. I waited but he never called. This man works with zero oversight and has daily access to people's bodies, so maybe that gives him a sense of ownership to them. He understands how to give a simple chiropractic adjustment, but not how to advise you on why you needed one in the first place or how to safe yourself from future ones. I came to Dr. Brian because of his certification in the Activator Technique - I knew he wasn't going to miss anything. I had already gone twice to a Diversified Chiropractor, and was still crippled with sharp stabbing pain with just about any movements. It was hard to breath and I was nauseous from the pain. After the first visit with Dr. Brian, I was very sore, but after having to drive an hour and a half back home, I rested with ice all evening. That night I was able to roll over in bed without waking up constantly from the pain - I actually slept! The next day I was able to breathe better, and I had a 70% reduction of sharp stabbing pain. I could even start doing some stretching! I just had my second adjustment, and am hopeful for this continuing trend back to not having any pain or disability. Dr Short told me I have one leg that is shorter than the other, prescribed a heel lift to correct the uneveness which was the underlying cause of my scoliosis, and gave me a series of treatments to bring my spine back into alignment. That has been over a year and a half ago and today is the first time I have been back with any back pain. Just a couple of adjustments and I am on my way again!! Dr, Short uses a non force adjustment method with a tool called an activator which applies a specific amount of force directly to the discs of the spine that taps them back into proper alignment. None of the twisting, cracking movements of the older style of adjustments. This is just right for me!! He has opened up my range of movement and removed my pain.
