Our first experience with Friedman's was as positive as it can get. We ordered exactly what we wanted, our salesperson kept us constantly updated. The delivery and setup was impressively professional and thorough. Our prior purchase of a range was with Lowe's, the Lowe's delivery pales in comparison. I had to attach my own gas line, they did not level the stove, they did not review all oven features, and we were left feeling let down. Our family likes to support local businesses, but I cannot recommend working with Friedman's at this time. I previously had a good experience with them, having a washer and dryer ordered, delivered, and installed. Things went without a hitch and if I could leave it there I'd give them 4-stars. Things changed this month, however, when our family went in to order a new dishwasher. The experience AT Friedman's was great. Our kids had a place to play, and the staff seemed friendly. They offered my kids drinks. In fact, we left spending appx $850 on a new dishwasher anticipating its arrival. Fast forward to delivery day. Things are moving along nicely. Their delivery staff was excellent and had a great sense of humor. But as they were finishing up, my wife noticed the dishwasher was missing the top rack. "Didn't ours have a handle on the front also?" I look at the unit closely and we confirm with the men installing the machine it is the wrong one. Only off by 1 letter. No biggie! We're generally accommodating people, and mistakes happen. When a unit is off because it says "P" instead of "T" there are a number of explanations for it. But the expected reasons weren't given. Instead, when my wife called to confirm the mistake and coordinate the correct unit to be delivered with our sales rep Thomas, he suggested they don't make the unit we ordered any longer. He then said he changed the model to its most current look-alike and THAT was what was delivered. He never mentioned anything about this when we ordered it. My wife corrected him that the unit we bought had the Pirhanna disposal, a top rack, and a couple other features missing on this unit. She reminded him that when at the store we implied the disposal was a deal-breaker. We had to have it. Thomas then told my wife we never ordered that unit. The one on the floor that we talked about with him. The only one we asked for a price sheet on. At no point did we ever discuss looking at or even considering a different model. He implied we were mistaken. After going back and forth, my wife called me and I reached out to the Thomas. He implied he was trying to save us some money by ordering a cheaper unit. This is the 3rd excuse he's given for what should have been a simple fix. These excuses are mutually exclusive from one another. To this day, I do not know why he offered so many reasons (some implicating it was our fault, some implicating himself) but he insisted over and over again, "This is on me. This is on me. We'll make this right." Fine. I just want my dishwasher. It was at this point, after implying we did not order the machine on the floor that we DID in fact order and pay for that he suggested the unit we looked at actually costs $900+, but that he would "Do [us] a favor and give [us] that unit at no extra charge." I blew through that comment, thinking about waiting another 10 days for delivery, etc. After I hung up with him, it struck me that he just tried to pitch my own dishwasher as an upsell. If there is any question about what we ordered, I have examined our purchase order and we ordered and paid for the correct unit on site. There never should have been any question about it. What started as a simple mistake ended in us being lied to and patronized. I generally have a distaste for your classic 'salesman' and at first, Thomas didn't strike me as such. But after several conversations and the ultimate spin of 'bumping us up' to the dishwasher we BOUGHT, we were done. Later that day we returned the incorrect dishwasher and asked for a full refund. I spoke to the manager later and he assured me the refund has already gone through, and he would call me the following day explaining what ACTUALLY happened just for our peace of mind. Had either of those events taken place, I wouldn't feel like it was necessary to warn others. However, not only did they never call me back to explain what happened, but they have not refunded me the $850+ we paid weeks ago. The irony here is we wanted to shop local and were willing to pay a little more to do so. But now we have a dishwasher coming today from Costco that is the same unit, with free installation, and it was ~ $200 less. read more

Bought all my appliances from them. It's totally not their fault that the dishwasher and GE Monogram were faulty. However, they have a one year guarantee for which they said they would come out and repair or replace any faulty units. They replaced the GE Monogram with a refurbished unit (without telling us it was refurbished). After the guys installed it we tried to use it and saw the turn table did not turn and we that the unit was an older discontinued model. We called to have it repaired (didn't argue with them using an older refurbished model - just wanted it to work) but now they said that they do not have the proper skills to repair the appliance and they cannot honor the agreement. Would not ever buy from these folks. Dishonesty is one thing I cannot tolerate. If they do not have the skills they should replace the unit with a functioning unit - and, if they were good folk, with a new unit of the same model. read more

I recently had a repair on my icemakers and dishwasher. Tech came out gave us diagnostic on them. $195.. two days later charged on credit card $400 for "estimated parts". Month later put the parts on dishwasher and ice machines spent 1 hour $400 labor and additional $76 parts. Called for explanation because i was told labor is $129 per hour. Service tech came on and said we don't bill by the hour but by the job. Overcharged for parts and overcharged for labor. Be careful....... read more

My husband and I purchased a Samsung washer and dryer with Friedman's most recently. We needed to schedule a repair service call as soon as they were available. While making two attempts Thursday, August 6th at 12:03pm and 1:49pm speaking with two different women on each call. Both assured me they would call me back with assistance after speaking with their repair crew that day. The second call, she referred me to the first lady's voicemail and I left another message. Three in all. It has been six days and....Nothing. I never heard from either lady. I am so disappointed and will be contacting our builder to inform him of this company not being there for his customers. Run. Don't walk away. Follow-up is not their desire. read more

We went to this store at the urging of the cabinet maker who said they use them often. Even called to let the store know we were coming over. We got there and asked for the salesperson we were told to ask for and we were immediately told that it is by appointment only. Fine just had some questions and any salesperson could help. Nope that wasn't happening for some reason ( I'll get to that soon), as we were looking around, I had a question and asked the receptionist the question. She didn't really answer the question and then asked where the house was being built. She was told and then said "we don't work that far away". Okay whatever! Before any of this happened both the salesperson and the receptionist denied knowing of the cabinet store and the builder even though BOTH knew of them and have worked with them numerous times. We were told that "We" would be better off going to a big box store because they couldn't help us. Now to clarify a little, my friend and her MALE husband are building and moving here, not myself (female) and my friend. From the interaction and then the delight when we left, we realized that they assumed we were gay. I have been discriminated against a lot but never for something I'm not. Do yourself a favor and stick to the big box stores over this one. BTW the builder said they are weird; they are not weird just bigots! read more

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for Friedman's rectifying the stove and washer/dryer issue promptly once the right individuals got involved. I love my products and would buy again, I was disappointed in the handling of a few issues-lack of follow up BUT NOW RESOLVED. They got a fabricated stove hood part expertly done, reimbursed the "dent on delivery" price reduction on my washer dryer and went above and beyond to send a few extra gift cards for my stress and time on this issue. Well done. I think we both learned. When buying something remember to keep on top of everything regularly and go to the top for needed assistance if not getting results. That follow up after a sale is important, maybe a call or check in to client by sales person 30-45 days out? Thank you Russell and a that helped rectify this issue. Horrible service! We purchased a full kitchen from Friedman's a year and a half ago. The oven I purchased exploded, after putting out the flames I contacted Friedman's who sent out Tommy Gas their service manager. He was rude and told me that this is normal. He even said that it was gas that got into my electric oven which made it explode! They have not offered any help and said that they could not send out another service technician for weeks so I should go through GE! Do not go to Friedman's Appliance. read more

After buying an induction cooktop at Friedmans, the installers informed me that I did not have the correct wiring to complete installation. I would need to get an electrician to correct the problem. When I called Christina, who had helped me with the cooktop decision, she was the kindest most fair employee that one could ask for. I would totally recommend the store for being fair, helpful, understanding, and the way a store should be! I was completely surprised at how different Friedmans dealt with my situation..: so different from any other store I could have worked with. read more

Poor organization and customer service during COVID-19 pandemic. I have made multiple calls to request either an appointment with a sales person or a return phone call or a quote for a refrigerator via email. I have NEVER received a return call or an appointment opportunity or an email. I have made a total of 6+ calls to request assistance over the past 6 weeks. My husband also called twice and left messages but never received a call- back. We have always dealt with Freidman's for the past 30 years and loved their products and service. I am so disappointed in their lack of response and terrible customer service. Sadly, we had to go to the "big box" store to get my refrigerator and it has always been our practice to buy and support local businesses. read more

Long review but hopefully worth the read.... To be honest, I almost did not purchase from here due to a few bad reviews and a pre-conceived assumption that they would be over-priced.... but they were the only place I could find the washer and dryer I wanted in stock. I was desperate and needed them ASAP. After working with our sales rep (from across the country... we just moved here), Gary, he gave us a very reasonable deal that was not far from big box store price. THEN we found out they were back ordered. Gary understood I couldn't go without a washer and dryer with two babies so he went to work and found a way to get me my dream washer and dryer. After being delivered, we called for service as something was wrong with my dryer. Turns out, our vents were clogged (not Friedman's fault) but this is where the magic really happens. Mark, the service repairman, was awesome. Could not have been more friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up hiring Friedman's to look at my VERY old fridge. Mark was again so knowledgeable and kind. We decided to not repair the fridge and purchase a new one. I could have gone anywhere but could not get over how excellent the service was. You do not get that at a big box store.... ever! So back to Friedman's to buy a fridge. Things then got even better... Gary, again, hit it out of the park by helping us find the perfect fridge for our budget and family. I would not have even considered the brand we purchased at a big store but it's amazing. I just called with a few questions on my new fridge and they were so incredibly helpful and are sending someone out to help me. No big store would ever do this and to be fair... I really did not pay much more (if any) for my appliances! Hoping to see Mark's friendly face on Friday. He's so nice that I don't think I will even mind if my appliances break down in the future if it means I can shoot the $&@! with Mark (kidding.... sort of). I will hands down purchase all of my appliances from Friedman's..... specifically from Gary as he is an appliance expert AND mostly because I know that if something happens that their service after they take my money is top notch. There is no way I would get the same service at Costco, Lowe's, Home Depot... etc. I would sit on the phone for hours begging for them to help me all for them to tell me I'm SOL. Instead... We purchased an Electrolux refrigerator and freezer pair last year with the kit that combines them. The appliances are very nice and we are pleased with them. The problem: as the warranty neared its end (1 year), we contracted the store where the units were purchased to inquire about an extended warranty. We were told that the warranty had to be purchased within 6 months of the appliance purchase. It would have been nice if someone had told us that. We purchased a washer and dryer from Friedmans that had great reviews. The washer did not work properly and tore up we asked to return both and get another brand. They agreed to help us pick out another Brand. They did not charge us anymore for the second set. Recently, my wife and I went into the store to purchase a double oven, built in microwave, and a dishwasher. We called the store after waiting 3 days for the quote and we were told "Don't worry you'll have your quote this evening. "So far, it has been a week and we still do not have a quote. This place appears to be having some customer service issues. We found it peculiar that we needed a quote on these appliances in the first place. Usually, prices are easily retrieved from the company's inventory control system. This lack of follow up, makes you wonder how well they stand behind their products. read more

I had an experience at Friedman's earlier this year. I was building a new home and needed a whole suite of kitchen appliances, range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. I went into the store with my sister who was visiting from Denver and my father. We were dressed in normal business attire clothing, i.e. didn't look like bums or beggars. I walked around the store, no one approached me. I walked up and leaned on the counter where there were several people including the manager (owner?). No one spoke to me. My sister walked up and I remarked in a conversational tone that no one seemed interested in selling me appliances. Still no response from the people sitting behind the counter where I was standing. Finally I got someone's attention and asked for a salesperson. They said they'd get someone but they were on break. I know, for an appliance store, or any business, this is some weird behavior, right? So I waited for 15 minutes for the salesperson. While I was waiting some guy walks in off the sidewalk and the manager shouts a greeting to him from behind the counter. Basically runs over to him and schmoozes him. Turns out he wanted a drink of water. But he got the royal treatment. So, finally a saleslady comes from the back and we discuss my appliance needs. We discuss some options and she tells me she'll put together a quote and email it to me. I wait about a week, no email. I had her card so I emailed her in case my address got written down wrong. No response. I guess I just somehow didn't rate to do business in their establishment. I ended up over at a nearby Big Box store where I received excellent customer service and saved several thousand $$ to boot. read more

Phoned first. Spoke to mgr. got a price on a Speed Queen washer. Stopped by. Tag on machine $50 higher, but mgr made good on verbally quoted price. When machine arrived at store delivery appointment set. Machine arrived at my home on schedule, installed by two men professionally, knew what they were doing, machine working great. Everything happened the way it was supposed to. Great, reliable service, product, etc... Will return for next purchase. They're the only dealer in this area, I'm told, that sells Speed Queen washing machines. Made in USA. read more

So disappointed in Friedman's Appliances. I try to buy local as much as I can but this has taught me that it is better to go with a national store. Even after they sent one of their staff to measure the space for a new stove they ordered the wrong stove. When it came it (delayed I might add) it didn't fit. Their response? Hire someone to cut a hole in the counter. So we had to pay for another installation visit (they guys tried to get the new one in and did remove the old one) and we had to pay for the hole to be cut. Friedman's tried to sell a warranty that the company was giving for free at the time of purchase. Clearly the staff are untrained, unprofessional, and uncaring. No apology was ever made for the inconvenience, added expense, or their mistake. read more
