Make sure you have any "certified" vehicle inspected by a 3rd party reputable mechanic BEFORE you make a purchase. I paid roughly 4K above market value (24K) for my 2015 CRV with over 40K in miles thinking that the "certified" actually meant something, and have had NOTHING but issues since the purchase. Only 3-months after purchasing the CRV I was told by the dealership that I needed brake pads, then immediately took the car to 2-independent mechanics who told me I actually needed both pads and rotors. AWFUL, UNREPUTABLE and DISHONEST, please stay away for the good of your wallet and mental health. read more

I've purchased two cars from Friendly Honda my first was a new 2012 Pilot and the second was a 2016 Pilot. Up until now I've brought my cars back to the dealership to be serviced. That ended today. I made a 7:15 a.m. appt for an oil change. Was STILL in the waiting room at 9:00 a.m. when the technician came to me with recommended work to be done... $800 worth!! I fell for the alignment $129 and the engine air and cabin filters $96. He told me this could affect allergies. Since I have serious allergies I thought this would be helpful. Of course this added more time to my wait. When I go in for an oil change.. I only want the oil changed and not to be pressured into other "recommended" services. Earlier this year they did the same thing.. with the recommended services but I thought I'd give them one more chance. Not going back again! read more

I asked where's my $2.50, he replied you'll get it when you receive your registration in the mail. I thought it was different but I said fine. I received my registration today and never got back the $ 2.50. I think it's pretty sad you pay all cash for a vehicle and they can't give you the $2.50 they owe you. Basically since our credit is less the stellar he spent all of 5 minutes with us without even asking us questions and ask he could not help us. Possible the worst car sales person we have ever dealt with. We went to Healey who welcomed us, was friendly and knows what good customer service is. We walked out with 2 brand new cars. I dropped almost $200 yesterday to have my AC repaired- for a vehicle I purchased 6 months ago. I'm told since it's a 2010 that it's not uncommon for the AC system to need a recharge, that freon will be added and that NOTHING appears to be mechanically wrong. I'm also told dye was added so that "if I have any problems in the future it will be easy to fix". Less than 24hrs later my AC is blowing hot. I call back- obviously furious that I dropped $200 for nothing- and am told "we added the dye bc inevitably it would blow hot again and now we can find & fix the leak". So I ask how much another "fix" is going to cost (as I was under the impression it was FIXED yesterday) and am told it is $55+ to look for the splashed dye + parts & labor for any repairs... Mind you- my husband and I dropped 30k only six months ago on TWO vehicles... now I drop another $200 for a "fix" that actually fixed nothing... Had I known I would have been charged $200 for dye, I would have purchased it offline, found & fixed the leak myself and have gone ELSE WHERE for the recharge. PS- I attempted to speak with the sales rep who made commission off our 30k purchase 6 months ago (in hopes she could help me out) ... *shocker* she no longer works there. read more

Sold me a Hyundai that was a complete lemon. First the transmission went, 2 days after I bought it. But they fixed it. Then the car had a cracked coil, and it coulda blown up cause that is where the gas meets the electricity, but I had that fixed. Then it had a weird thing were it shot arcs of electricity out the bottom. I took it to hyundai, and they had never seen anything like it. Turns out the repairs conducted by friendly when the tranny went did not attach the grounding wires, and a frayed belt was casing static build up hence the arc. So the car could have exploded 2X. So after much yelling, and me putting much work into the Hyundai they gave me a really good deal on a CRV. So they did finally come through in the beginning and end. Took 7 months though, and I had to fix the coil. read more

Car buying/leasing is probably one of the most annoying things to go though. It can completely take the thrill of getting a new car away from you for sure. Friendly did a great job at making it an easy, quick process. My wife had to return her CRV and was interested in upgrading to a newer/better equipped model or a HRV. Upon arrival we were told that they were understaffed (typical Sunday apparently) but they would keep us posted and even let us test drive whatever we wanted without a sales rep! We took the HRV out for a spin on our own - less headache of having a sales rep interject with comments while you're trying to get a feel for the car. Once we returned a rep greeted us promptly and the process was off. Through some negotiation we were able to get the price where we wanted it and on terms that we were comfortable with. The sales rep was great - not overbearing or pushy in the least. From signing on the dotted line to walking out was around an hour or so (I dealt with far worse when I got my car recently at a different company dealership). After the discussion we made the deal and I sent him copy of my driver license and driver license info. Deal was done. After 30 min he called me again and said that the price changed and it will cost me $1500 more because his manager wants more money. I immediately stopped the deal and locked my credit card account. I had a motor rebuilt on my Honda after a gasket blew on it and am very disappointed in the results. I paid $3,000 3 months ago for this work to be done. Due to covid, the car has barely been driven since then, except back and forth to the grocery store. Our initial experience with this place back in February was less than stellar. We had a loaner car while our car was being serviced. There was a mix up on the dealership's end with our phone numbers. They entered my fiancé's number into their system incorrectly. However, they had my number as a backup the entire time, but neglected to reach out. When they did reach out, the staff was rude and obnoxious, like it was our fault THEY made a mistake. Some so-called "manager" actually yelled at me over it (a customer that's spending $3K at their shop). I was willing to let that go and a different manager did apologize when we went to pick up the car. However, when we got the car back the cylinder head plug was leaking. This is an $8 part that wasn't replaced and came leaking from THEIR shop. My fiancé is pretty handy with cars and we replaced this part ourselves. Now a cam shaft sensor is bad - $30 part if ordered online. This was a $450 fix, plus an additional $200 for a car rental. They refused to discount us on any labor costs. We asked for a loaner car and were told "We're not a car rental company." We asked why this part wasn't fixed since it is part of the engine rebuild and were told "It was in "working" condition." Well #1, OBVIOUSLY it was NOT in "working condition", otherwise it wouldn't have failed so quickly. #2. They replaced a different cam shaft sensor, the thermostat, water pump and timing belts which were ALL IN WORKING CONDITION. #3 It's common knowledge that sensors go bad. This is a 2004 Civic. There is no excuse for this type of error. I'm at a loss at why this job was half-a**ed so badly, other than they are intentionally fixing only part of the problem so that you'll return and they'll be able to charge for additional work. Since one of the cam shaft sensors was under warranty, we assumed that this was the issue and it would be fixed for free by their shop. But we had no idea that they did such a crappy job on the motor rebuild and only replaced ONE sensor. Also the way we were treated by customer service AGAIN was horrendous. When we were trying to work this out with them, the lady in the service department was awful. She was borderline mean, hung up on me when I got upset, refused to let us speak to whoever in service was working on the vehicle and refused to put us in contact with a manager or even transfer us to the manager's voicemail box. I would not ever have a car serviced here. read more

After a routine recall for an adjustment in the software for the transmission on a 2104 Ford Focus, we discovered that the normal software fix was not helping with a low RPM shutter. We went to our neighborhood Friendly Ford dealer and could not have been more impressed. Tom was not only responsive but extremely knowledgeable about the problem. In short order, Tom and the technicians work through a number of replacement part solutions all covered under warranty. We were both surprised and impressed with the quickness to take dramatic action to solve our rather minor problem. In the end we got back the car and it runs smoother than ever. No shutter. The sales team is great, but the service department is sketchy, incompetent, and out for your money. They always take forever (seriously guys, 4 hours for an oil change that I had a reservation for?). Last time I went I was flagged down by a service rep who was clearly looking for a cut on a commission (in past trips I'd just go straight to the express check in desk). During a previous service visit, I had been recommended a bunch of services without explanation: fuel intake cleaning, fuel induction service, transmission fluid change, and battery change (the battery was fine, even I could tell that was bogus); when I asked how much it'd be without the battery change, I was told $400, which seemed about right. During this visit, I was just asked if I wanted to do the recommended services from last time, and was then told I also needed the brakes re-rotored....all told? $1027?!?! The transmission fluid change alone somehow came to $247. I was clearly upset by this unexpected price but no one cared; they just wanted their money. I got a follow up by email a few days later, and when I wrote back expressing my concerns about how expensive the services were and also how unexpected they were, I was told that I had been given this quote when my service advisor and I "sat down and went over the prices on the screen" before I signed off on them...which was a blatant lie. I got contacted by the Honda corporation for feedback and listed all these concerns. Never heard back. Oh, and the best part? The next time I took my car in for an oil/filter change (at my regular, non-dealership mechanic who I trust with my life), I was told I needed fuel induction service because "it's clearly been a while since it was done." I asked how much a transmission fluid change would have been. Answer? $160. Hope you enjoy my $1k, Friendly Honda. It's the last bit of money you'll ever get from me. read more

Service repaired it and I was back a week later with the same problem. After they put 50 miles on my new car I was back again for a new problem. After 2 visits to service for a loud rattling noise , I was told that I have to wait till the spring to fix the problem!!!! Later that week I go to the Honda Corporate website to search for the nearest dealership that does have this model and surprise, Unfriendly Honda has one! Yet, after being treated poorly, there's no way I'd buy a car from them. In talking with friends I hear more stories about unfriendly behavior. This is the slimiest dealership I have ever worked with. My daughter needed a car asap and they told her the next available car was a blue color. Later told her she would have to pay an extra $300 for that color. She agreed because she needed a car as soon as possible. Three months later still no car. When I called to complain about the delay, they told me it was because she ordered a "custom color". The sales manager laughed in my face when I told him she only ordered that color because they told my daughter that this was the color that was the next available. Then the mornng she was supposed to pick up the car they cancelled again and told her she would have to pay a $600 inflation increase due to the 3 month delay in delivery because "prices have really gone up since you first ordered the car." Pat Clark, the sales manager, was rude and condescending when I asked how this was our problem when the delay was their fault. He offered us nothing for the inconvenience and sarcastically asked if I wanted to cancel the order since he had a list of people waiting for a car. He really enjoyed having us between a rock and a hard place. Very unethical people- don't know how they sleep at night. If you're just having fluids replaced in their service department you should be ok. Just expect to be there a while even for an oil change. As for anything mechanical I won't go there anymore. I've been a customer for 25 years and it's been declining for the last 8-10 years. They will use after market parts for brake jobs that are inferior. Then when they break down in a year and a half and only 30k miles, they don't stand behind them and expect you to pay for everything all over again. Never again. Every time I come here it's the same thing. I'm having an oil change done to my car. An oil change. When you walk inside, there's a desk with two people. You can't talk to these people, because they've put a giant white board in front of their faces that say "please find any open associate". So I stand in line where I can't tell who's open because some are eating snacks and lunch, others are peering into their computers like they're doing something. Finally a man invites me over, doesn't tell me to sit (so I stand) as he clicks the mouse and finds my scheduled appointment. I've been sitting here for 40 minutes, and no one has told me how long this was going to take. The man sitting next to me has been waiting for 20 minutes and someone just came in to tell him his part they said they ordered wasn't ordered and he has to come back another day. I only come here for an oil change because they tacked on the service plan when I purchased my new car. I hate coming here, and if you're paying for an oil change I'd go to any regular gas station before coming here. read more

My daughter purchased a used car at Friendly Honda. She worked with Reggie; who was nice enough. Paul, the finance guy, was a different story. He clearly has something against young people ; as he called my daughter "kid" more than once and said our credit union hires 18 year olds who don't know what they're doing. (By the way- my daughter is 28). The fact is, my daughter told him not to run her credit because she already had a pre-approval through the credit union. Paul did a social security search for her application and didn't find it. Instead of calling the credit union; LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE, he submitted a new application. This credit pull caused her score to drop a few points; as inquiries will, and it almost caused my daughter to receive a higher interest rate than she should have. I say almost, because she called HVFCU to ask about something else and that's how she found out credit was repulled; which warranted a 5.40% rate. The credit union did right by my daughter and said they would honor the pre-approval credit score which gives her 4.24% rate. IF SHE HADN'T CALLED SHE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A HIGHER RATE!!! She expressed her displeasure to Paul about this and he blamed it all on the credit union. I emailed Dom, the VP, and received no reply!!! Do NOT go to friendly honda; it was anything but a friendly experience in the end. read more
