Took my neighbor for his free birthday meal and he really enjoyed it. He could've had any entree on the menu and he chose the all American double cheese burger and fries. We came on wednesday, late afternoon. Not many people. Loud heavy metal music playing.oh boy (eyeroll). It's a sports bar really. Mostly burgers and other sandwhichs. We only picked this spot because of its distance to us and not much else around. Expectations weren't high. Have to say the service was great. (Shout out to kyiah). Food came out pretty quick. Me and my boyfriend sat at the bar here last Friday or (March 13th), and the atmosphere was good and I enjoyed my food, but the bartender that served us would make creepy comments to some of the customers and I think the other staff as well. I think he was white and had a beard. he gave me such bad vibes a couple times I saw him getting weirdly physical or slightly aggressive with some of the girls in the resteraunt. I believe with as fast as Friends restaurant has free fallen from grace, they won't last much longer. Their menu sucks! Pretzels are gone, grilled shrimp is gone. Manager was extremely rude. I explained i was pregnant and i couldn't specify details of my order on their website because i had to make sure they Cooked the meat well and avoided cross contamination with anything else. He was rude and unprofessional and said: i don't get why you can't use the website. Since discovering the meatless deliciousness of the Impossible Burger, I have been far more willing to try vegan options. So tonight, during a party for a friend here at Friends I ordered the beyond burger, which I hoped would be similar to the Impossible Burger. But the only similarity between the two is they are both meatless! The Beyond Burger is proof that two companies can have the same idea and come up with totally different results, and not in a good way! While the Impossible Burger is indeed beefy in flavor, the Beyond Burger tastes and looks more like Spam, which I absolutely hate! SIDE NOTE: it also smells like animal food. I hated it so much that I did something I rarely ever do, I sent it back!!! The owner stopped by my table and joked about my sending back the burger, but ultimately replaced it with their Dad's Fish n' Chips. The flavor of the Beyond Burger was so gross that I totally lost my appetite for a burger. Overall Friends is a decent little neighborhood joint to come hang out, chow on typical bar foods, have a drink and/or watch a game! I love the owners heart! They're super sweet people that really try to give back to the community, so for that reason I won't give this review any less than three stars. The quality of service has definitely gone downhill here. Just had the WORSE service at a restaurant in my life. Had to get up to the bar and ask for my Adult Beverage 10 minutes after ordering it. The server ignored us repeatedly. Her attitude was (in summary), "Why are YOU here?" I felt, literally, unwelcome. So unwelcome I couldn't eat my entree. This was my first time here. I enjoyed the best black bean burger EVER on my visit! I was a little nervous because some pubs don't have good options for vegetarians. I was here with my colleagues & found something on the menu that sounded appealing. The black bean burger was the best. It was bursting with flavor and was the best veggie burger I've ever had! So I've been looking for a new close bar OTP and I have a few things that I'm looking for. A friendly staff, good drinks, and a sense of community from patrons. Friends has been knocking it out of the park so far. The biggest surprise so far is how good the food has been. The smoked wings are absolutely amazing. I'm a firm believer in who the best wings in Atlanta are but the wings here are firmly in contention. Every burger I've seen looks amazing as well. And how can I not mention that pretzel tho!
