The sessions became less and less frequent. In May 2025, he canceled our session. And we heard nothing from him until we called him and he told us he was in rehab. We paid Mr. Winkler $5500.00 in full in January and have received approx 5 training sessions of 30 -40 minutes at best. Travel is an issue as we live in mountains which he was aware of when we signed contract. I strongly caution anyone to not use this trainer. We are out $5500 plus $400.00 for a kennel that we bought from him which was too small for our dogs. We got one puppy trained at another facility for an additional $2500.00 and no refund from Elite K-9 Very poor business Operation.

Kerry M. was our vet and she walked us through every step, educated us, was patient, and was so kind to Iverson and us. I had to cancel the first appointment because I was not ready to say goodbye. They offer a cancellation window up to 4 hours before your appointment and allow you to carry over your deposit to when you reschedule, with no extra fee. So thankful for this understanding. The cost may feel steep, but the in-home service is so so worth it. Iverson had his last meal while the pain meds were administered. It was a distraction where he didn't even notice. He felt safe and comfortable in his home, surrounded by family and on his favorite couch. He was then given a sedation medicine where he drifted into a nap on my chest. When the final medicine was given, he felt no pain as he crossed the rainbow bridge. I have heard horror stories from other in home service companies. I had 3 friends use Caring Pathways and that is why we went with them. I am so grateful and thankful that we chose to work with Caring Pathways. However, when we picked him up after the 3 weeks we were SO pleasantly surprised by the improvement in his behavior & how well he was walking on leash, understanding the heel, sit & stay commands! I have already booked Piper in through the rest of the year. I am getting another standard poodle and was told how they introduce puppies to make them comfortable with them. Sounds great, I would have never thought of it, they really care.
